We at Vitagene are sorry to see you are unhappy with the autosomal DNA reports you were provided and wanted to reach out to provide you with more information about how the complementary Ancestry Report that we gift people who purchase our Health Test, works. Our ancestry report, reports on the industry standard for non-genealogy based ancestry reports by splitting the planet into 24 regions going back 1,000 years which might be why the report is reporting things that are different from what recent ancestors and living revives have verbally reported. We give you a percentage breakdown of what ancestral DNA you inherited from those regions and what countries each region includes. We do not report on geopolitical borders because over time countries change their names, borders, etc and that man made information is not recorded in your DNA. If you have any other questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask. Please note that the questionnaire is not used in the anyway when reporting genetic traits or ancestry, it is only used in the diet report, exercise report and supplement report as there are things we can not detect with autosomal DNA testing like a peanut allergy or, if someone is a vegetarian.

You purchased health reporting from Vitagene instead of genealogy reporting but you can still receive a genealogy report from the raw DNA file Vitagene has provided for you if that is what you were expecting to receive. This can be obtained by uploading the file to a genealogy based company like MyHeritage.com. This is something we are currently working on updates for, one of the great things about Vitagene reports is that you will continue to receive free updates as genetic science evolves. A lot of the details in your report are in the Genetic Traits report where we show our work and report on the specific genetic SNP's found in your DNA sample that has led us to report what is being reported and even include links to the scientific studies that led us to what we reported. We want to confirm with you that you purchased your DNA test from a company that is more health based than genealogy based as we are focused to help people make actionable steps towards better health. Our report is not a genealogy based report, it is a heath based report and ancestry is mainly reported on because of the health patterns that can be caused by ethnicity. There is in fact a difference between an DNA ancestry report and a DNA genealogy report which might be what you are looking for instead of an ancestry report. Companies like AncestryDNA.com specialize in genealogy reports and do not report on health at all, which is a completely different service than what you have purchased from Vitagene.

We are sorry for not meeting your expectations, please feel free to use the ask Jade option in the upper right hand corner of your personal Vitagene dashboard. This will allow you to ask our nutritionists whatever you like and they can possibly provide you with the extra information you are seeking at no extra cost. Please keep in mind that a lot of the details in your report are in your Genetic Traits report where we show our work and report on the specific genetic SNP's found in your DNA sample that has led us to report what is being reported and even include links to the scientific studies that led us to what we reported. Seems like you may not be clicking on the traits in your Genetic report, try clicking into the report located directly under where it says”Your Report”. That is your Genetic Traits Report which, no information what so ever uses any data from our questionnaire in the detail of the Genetic Traits report where our scientists show their work, making it easy to find the actual articles and studies that led to what was reporter. The articles and studies will all have a public rating as to how strong or week the source and data rates up. On the top row are options in your genetic traits report to view a lot of detailed information like how your body is likely to metabolize folate and muscle reactions during work outs. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I will be happy to help you find answers.

Hello,

We are very sorry to see that you do not agree with the science of autosomal DNA testing going as far back as 800 years further than what your previous studies have gone. These reports have allowed you to discover more information about your ancestry than you knew before which stays true to our advertisement "Discover your ancestry.". We will be happy to provide you with a free replacement kit if you can prove to us that you may have activated the wrong DNA testing kit to yourself as you are the only one connected to the one attached to your account. Please contact our customer support and provide us with the exact error you think we have made and we will be happy to explain to you how autosomal DNA testing and reporting works and of corse fix and mistakes if any have been made. Vitagene has provided you with a DNA file of over 700,000 of your personal genetic SNP's, please feel free to use the genetic SNP's in the file to prove that your allegations are correct and we will be happy to compensate you in anyway we can if you prove our science is wrong.
