Thank you for your feedback, we want to confirm with you that take at home autosomal DNA tests are not able to diagnose the issues that you mentioned. These are traits and behaviors one might be more prone to if the host carries certain SNP's. We have included the actually SNP's and the links to the studies that have led us to what was reported. These studies report on the likeliness of these behaviors and traits with scientific proof but it is not meant to diagnose these behaviors as you would need to see a Doctor to be provided any diagnosis of the human body in the United states. We would like to kindly reply to your updated review with confirming that Vitagene does list descriptions and details about the specific genetic SNP's found in your Genetic Traits Report as well as links to the studies on those specific SNP's that led us to report what was reported. Take at home autosomal DNA tests do not provide enough scientific data to provide diagnosis of a human body as science allow autosomal DNA files to be read and reported on likeliness of behavior. A DNA test that could provide some diagnostic information would cost about $8,000 and is called a complete genome test which is different than autosomal. This type of testing is not offered by Vitagene and is not the kind of testing you purchased from Vitagene. I will be happy to look into your personal account for you and help you find the items you are saying are not there. We are also curious as to where in your report you are seeing "you can tan easy" and will happily address that issue once you allow us to access your account and help you. I am unable to look into your account and make any changes or confirm that certain content is where it is supposed to be with out knowing the username on your account I would like to help you with this, my name is Nate. I have brought in our science team and our messaging team to make sure that the message "you can tan easy" is not listed anywhere in our reports as that is a diagnostic statement and should not be reported in this way in an autosomal DNA report.

I was able to find your account and view your report and found that the report says different a thing than what you have reported it says. We have you at moderate tanning ability. This is what it says in your report “As someone with moderate genetic ability for tanning, your skin is only somewhat effective at producing melanin in response to UV rays. This causes you to burn, as well as tan, when you spend time in the sun.

It sounds like you might not be accessing all of what has been provided. Our genetic traits report actually includes exactly which genetic SNP's that are connected to our findings and include links to the science studies that have reported these finding. Please contact us at support@vitagene.com and we will be happy to help you find all of these details if you are not seeing these details.

Please contact our customer support team for them to help you navigate your report to see that Vitagene provides the specific genetic SNP that is leading to what is reported as well as providing links to the specific scientific studies that explains why Vitagene is reporting what is being reported.

You can also use your "Ask Jade" option which is currently included free with your product that allows you to access on of our nutritionists if you have any questions that were not answered when viewing at your reports.

Vitagene provides a raw DNA file containing over 700,000 genetic SNP's that you will be able to upload to third party companies like Promethease or Genegenie for them to provide you with disease and mutation reports as Vitagene does not report on those subjects. These services only cost around $12 once you have a Vitagene DNA file and will provide similar information as 23andme's package that they sell for $199.
