Where to start? Arrived Littlecote Hotel Mon 24th ahead of 3pm check-in to be told that check-in had been put back to 5pm due to deep cleaning taking place as outbreak of sickness & I should have been told in an email sent that day - I cannot read emails whilst driving so that was pointless! Due to huge queues as coaches arriving we didn't actually get into our room until nearly 6pm (unexciting small signature room my son's & girlfriends standard room was much bigger) by the time we unpacked it was a mad dash to the restaurant & again to be met by long queues as everyone bottle necked doing the same. Chaotic meal as new measures had been put in place table service only, 1 starter, 1 main, 1 dessert - no salad bar or bread. Staff obviously stressed & trying to cope with new regime. Food came ridiculously fast so obviously not cooked freshly & gravy congealed with the roast very fatty pork meat - canteen style at best. Warner show wasn't anything special but good. Just felt we totally wasted day one.
Day two Tue - breakfast long queues for Continental food as all served by just 2 staff members, good choice but pastries dry we all ordered a cooked breakfast - poor quality ingredients very disappointed highlight was the brown toast delicious! Wandered to the Roman ruins & explored the Tudor building all fascinating very quiet and so glad I didn't book one of the very expensive historic rooms as most had windows completely covered in ivy!! Used pool/steam/sauna this facility was excellent & staff friendly very clean and the courtyard outside was so pretty but beware the Jacuzzi is cold and not pleasant at all! Showers afterwards were hot and plenty of products to use. Sat outside the bar area in sunshine which was lovely but totally spoilt by the awful piped elevator type music which was constant apparently the bar staff who were definitely working their socks off cannot turn it down or off and it was driving them bonkers too, totally unnecessary as it was such a beautiful area to sit out in! Found out that the booked evening entertainment had cancelled & been replaced we didn't go into the theatre that night but people seemed to enjoy it, we stayed in the bar playing cards until the country &western singer started - I hate to say this as everyone deserves a chance but she was probably the worst singer I have ever heard at Warner, a lovely lady but she mullered every track, as there was only about 10 of us there we felt we couldn't leave so sat it out but come on Warner do you even audition your acts anymore?
Day 3 we swerved the full English breakfast & just had Continental my son ordered an omelette & declared it delicious it was much quieter in the dining room but we put that down to people eating earlier as checking out....little did we know! We waved off our son &partner as they only stayed 2 nights & we headed out for the day sightseeing. Arrived back we were met by lots of new guests who had checked in plus staff wandering around with over shoulder disinfect pumps wtf!! obviously hearing of a sickness bug these new guests were discussing the situation in corridors the concern was very parable which I totally understand concerned ourselves we stopped at reception on our way to dinner to ask if there were many new cases and were told there had been a couple then my husband started to feel very unwell and ended up being violently sick leaving me on my own in the restaurant, I then witnessed someone be sick in the restaurant& in the corridor outside it was just hideous I was approached by a staff member who said I would have to remain in our room quite rightly quarantined but meals would be brought to me, my poor husband by this time was extremely unwell luckily I was absolutely fine but there was no way we were staying there, we had to get home whilst I was fit enough to drive the 2 1/2 hours back as who knew what the next 24hrs would bring? By 830pm we had checked out boy the relief to get home.
By 5am I was being sick & by 7am my son was being sick at his home, the next 48 hours were pure misery. I phoned Warner to let them know what happened & was told "a team was investigating and I should hear from someone" since then nothing!
Come on Warner you should have shut the hotel immediately after the first outbreak & notified the official authorities for help but you tried to play it down & offered no cancellation or alternative hotel accommodation you knew there was a problem before we arrived. No follow up welfare call from your "team" for all you know we could have been hospitalised luckily we are fit & well adults but what about those more elderly &/or with other health conditions I dread to think how they might be I have never felt so unwell it completely ruined our celebration special holiday with our son.
Warner I await your reply with anticipation.

We have recently returned from littlecote we arrived last Monday 24th to be told there was an outbreak of sickness and check in wasn't until 5pm while they did a deep clean. If it wasn't for the fact that our journey had been 4 hours too far for a return trip we would have left.
Checked in the room no way had they done a deep clean never saw any cleaners again until Wednesday afternoon!!! By Wednesday I was feeling unwell and was sick all that afternoon!!! We later learnt that 50 people have been asked to leave early on the Monday!!!
Fortunately my husband was OK so we left early on Thursday am still not completely right. We have been on quite a few warners holiday but this has finished it for us.
The cleanliness, food and the not really caring attitude of the staff was awful

Had to cancel on the day of booking in due to wife's unexpected illness. Insurance does not cover such a late cancellation. Lost £750.00. If this had been Potters, we would have had the opportunity to bank the money paid and use it for another holiday break. Poor show Warners we certainly will not be booking again after at least 20 years of holidaying with you.

We had an amazing four days at Warners Alvaston Hall. The hospitality is first class food and superb entertainment every evening.
The young lady,Robyn, who served our table was excellent. She did so much for us providing an exemplary service. A credit to the company who deserves rewarding.

Have stayed at different Warners over the years but Littlecote House is the worst I have ever visited. There was an outbreak of gastroenteritis when we were staying there and so many people were unwell , including my friend . We were lucky to escape on the Monday morning but people arriving were still allowed to check in when the hotel should have been completely shut down. Since I’ve got home many people who arrived on Monday have been taken unwell and had to cut their holiday short. Warners seem only bothered about making money , they no longer service your room on your first day and this cutback I think has contributed to poor hygiene levels. The hotel is still open despite people being ill and even vomiting in the dining hall! My friend is still unwell since we got home on Monday but there has been no contact from Warners to check how we are. Please note the rating of 4.3 on trip advisor is for warners overall and NOT the rating for Littlecote Hall which is much lower after the number of people complaining. Avoid at all costs ! They do not know how to deal with such a serious outbreak where a lot of their guests are elderly and vulnerable

After many visits to Warner's around the country over several years this is our worst experience. Nidd hall on arriving told to go around the building to park up , no spaces available , did another drive around , still could not find any parking on east carparks, again approached 'meet and greet' Told to use west carpark, this involved dragging suitcases across gravelled car park up stone seps and across another gravelled area to a side door with no signage. Eventually found our room, very good and clean. The pre booking of dining times is very poor, shown to our table for the stay. The food was very , very poor. Selection of carvery, fish or selection of spicey foods. As my wife doesn't do fish or spicy, no choice but carvery for four evening meals, in Yorkshire,,, worst possible Yorkshire puddings, burnt black on four occasions. Pre cooked omelettes, pre cooked pancakes and rubber scrambled egg , on previous visits to Warner's the omelettes, scrambled egg or pancakes were cooked to order. Previously there was a choice of other mains available to order to order at no extra cost, on one occasion we were offered an alternative main at an extra £5.00 each. The standard and variety of food available as really gone down hill, so much that instead of singing the praises of visits to Warner's. We now have decided to inform our friends and family that we cannot recommend Warner's and we will never go to a Warner's again.

Just arrived back from dinner in the Blue Room at Thoresby Hall Nottinghamshire. 26/08/2026.
After arriving ordered drinks and the waiter spilled wine all over my daughters dress. No problem accidents happen. Staff unsmiling and inattentive all night.
Food average and not warm enough and poor selection of draught beers. Watched staff spend most of their time talking to each other rather than focusing on customers.
Asked for bill and was told card machine not working and to head to bar. No apology and no discount offered for the full glass of wine spilt over my daughters dress. A lovely place spoilt by the low quality staff. Avoid.

Firstly I have to say we booked 2 vouchers for afternoon tea through Groupon , it turns out this was not a great idea ! Don’t buy two separate vouchers and expect to be able to book the same date and time :( we booked the first voucher and upon trying to book the second we were unable to get the same day let alone time !! And to make matters worse we were unable to cancel or amend the first one as we were booking for two days time ! Groupon made what was supposed to be a nice treat a nightmare regarding booking !
We had to go twice and just add items to our order so what we saved with Groupon we spent by visiting twice !
On our first visit on 20.8.26 Hollie our waitress was a delight to deal with, nothing was too much trouble , she is a credit to your establishment and along with the lovely food Studley Castle saved the day !
What we learned was book direct with Studley Castle and give Groupon a miss !
Thank you Hollie for your lovely service :)

We stayed at the Runnymede on August 21st for 3 nights. Great location, great standards mostly. But there are issues.
The hotel information states Wi-Fi throughout. It isn’t. We were in room 2028 – no Wi-Fi.
The lift by reception is small. Supposedly takes 6. On one occasion we had 5 people. It said it was overloaded. Considering the size of the hotel and the age of many of the clients, this could be better,
You get complimentary water… On the first day only.
We booked the Brasserie for breakfast; we couldn’t get in for dinner. The Brasserie boasts waiter service. Yes, they take your order, bring you coffee or tea, etc and the main course. Everything else is buffet style. But! We got starters, had just sat down when they brought the main course. We said we were not ready, please bring it back in a while. The response – ‘It will go cold’.
They took it away. When we asked for it, we waited 30 minutes. They said they were cooking it fresh. It was cold.
We were glad we had only booked breakfast. For the rest of the stay we ate in the Market Kitchen, which is fully self-service. The food - breakfast and dinner was very good quality and choice.
Warning – watch for the small print. Especially on the drinks menu. The spirits page is headed up with ‘Double up for £2.95.
In small print, by some drinks are 2 **, and at the very bottom of the page in small print was the message that these are excluded. Difficult to see in the theatre when the show is on, and the lights are off. Warner – why don’t you put the exclusions in a separate section or put the exclusions in the same print as the ‘Double up’.
10% service charge is added automatically to every bill.
We were charged for food we didn’t have. So, check your bills.
Entertainment – the in-house team was very good, as were the Leading Ladies. Bon Adams – in our opinion, not so.
All in all, I can only give these 3 stars, which is a shame because with a bit more effort they could get higher.

Beginning to understand the poor reviews and I haven’t even walked through the door yet ! Trying to find out the times on the history lectures for a booking in November so I can book spa treatments - you know, so I can spend more money with Warners ? Apparently there’s no way of knowing even though they’ve held 2 of these history weekends already with the same lecture format but it’s not possible to ask either of the 2 previous hotels involved. They keep telling me it’ll be on my itinerary nearer the time but have no idea when ‘ nearer the time ‘ actually is! Come on Warners I work for one of the emergency services and I’m trying to spend money in your spa and have a chilled weekend away from the stress of work, can we not try and be a little more customer service orientated? Just think of the feel good factor you’d have if a customer walked away happy and smiling thinking you were the most fab helpful company on the planet not to mention the additional profit of another 4 spa treatments !!

Well Warners, you need to step it up a couple of gears if you want to keep us as frequent guests.
We have been coming now a couple of times a year to various places and up until about a year ago everything was fine. Our last visit this year was to Thoresby after the recent refit.
Apart from the fact that we couldnt use the Spa at all due to the lavender infusions which created a migraine for my wife as it was so overpowering, we were actually impressed with the refurb.
Like other posts I have just read, the cleanliness is not as good as it was in the past, and the every other day room service is not acceptable in our opinion.
The main issue we had though was the food quality has really gone down. The reason for us is clear, reduce the staff has been the strategy and to do this most (if not all) of the food is pre-packed and due to my wife's allergies she struggled to find things to eat, why put mint in Peas ? Why put butter on Carrots .... it goes on.... I am speaking about Thoresby Hall which was until our last visit our favourite location. Unless things change we will not be going back there.
Next weekend we are going to Heythrop, something we booked before our last experience so we will try one last time. Looking at the menus it appears to be fine, but if the food is the same low quality as Thoresby earlier this year then its bye bye Warners.
As said by other reviewers there are many hotels out there offering in my opinion better quality service and food.
Just a footnote, that all the staff are lovely, its not their fault, its a bad and dangerous corporate strategy.
Updated following feedback from Stuart at Warners.
Stuart, you didnt mention once in your reply about the lower quality of food that not just myself is complaining about but also many other people. I don't expect you to acknowledge the corporate bad decision on this, but you have not even acknowledged that you will take my comments back to Bourne Leisure management. Should I write to your CEO ?? Please let me know as I would be more than happy to do so.

We stayed at Bembridge Hotel and had stayed there before. Sadly I think warners has gone down, we paid for a signature room which should have had dressing gowns, not too bothered about that but it’s all cut backs, shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and hand soap all in dispensers, milk in satchels, use to be fresh milk. Dinner was all ok but 3 roasts in three days is a bit much, there were other choices, fish dried out, curry, bearing in mind it was very hot. Not enough fans for the rooms so if you need one get in quick!!

Recent stay at Thoresby Hall. We paid for signature extras yet no crisps, and other nibbles are no longer daily. The entertainment left a lot to be desired, no visiting comedy act or tribute band, since the end of covid extra charges for rifle and archery, dining in the blue room, room service not given one day over the weekend, every guest had the same complaints, one suggested the CEO should go back to McDonald's and stop bringing Warner's down.
We have been going to Warner's three and four times a year for many years and hope guests Complaints are listened to and acted on.
On the positive side the staff are always excellent.

Having stayed in several warner hotels over the years I have to say I am very disappointed by how standards have fallen and the free activities, archery shooting etc have now been cancelled. We recently visited heythrope and were not impressed. The staff hardly ever knew anything, it was as though some of the staff didn't even work there. The staff that welcomed you for breakfast, dinner etc couldn't have been less enthusiastic. Breakfast was cold 2 out of 3 mornings and dinner cold 2 out of 3 evenings. We used to get an itinerary at the start of our break but now nothing.
It's all done on the app which BTW was not working at heythrope. No tours of the grounds or talks about the place. I think the onus was on golfers and everyone else was unimportant. I left my cardigan behind and it took three days for lost property to answer. She said she would call back but never did. Also i don't like how they have suddenly started charging single person supplement. I loved warners hotels but I don't think I will visit anywhere near as much and neither will the three friends I was with.

It’s a shame I can’t add photos of our dirty room of our stay Bembridge IOW
It’s also a shame I’ve not had a full response other than what I think is an AI response.
Last minute booking for a long weekend.
Great easy process to book over the phone. Staff helpful and friendly.
Great location advice check post code first or you could end up going in the old back entrance, not an issue drive down the track turn right then right again.
Checking in simple staff very friendly.
Then it went slightly down hill it was just after 4pm said to the wife let’s grab a drink and bite before going to the room, young lady was removing sausage rolls from cabinet I ask if I could have one “ no it’s gone 4 o’clock “ yep it was 16.06. Great customer service. There goes a missed sale.
Room, nice big room well presented. Looked tidy, then shock it’s one of the dirtiest rooms I’ve been in, not say it for the sake of knocking the hotel, see for yourself look at photos, Dust hanging off the lamp shade, door frames, all over the tiles in bathroom and already for Halloween cobwebs everywhere.
The doors to the rooms I think are border line legal as fire doors go,I could get my hand underneath.
Went to reception explained how unhappy we were, showed pictures, lots of ok’s. The reception was busy so I said to Bridget behind the desk I would leave it with her and come back.
They did find us another room which was of good standard, and was told by the duty manager that this was an upgrade room,at no cost?? Ye right. I pointed out about the doors reply was yes we’ve had new carpets fitted. (Looks as if someone came along with a ripsaw and cut 1/2 inch of all the doors.)
The floors in the main corridors not been hoovered for a good few days there was still bits on the floors that were there Friday afternoon and still there Monday on check out.
As for the unfinished decoration in the main restaurant that had been started in February and been finished shocking.
Our stay 07-10 -08-2026
Staff great food good service can’t really complain.
Not over impressed with having to pay for some additional activities. Evening entertainment was ok.
Hand shacks go to Rob in the restaurant and Bridget on reception.
Great location for a base to explore the island.
A comment from 2 staff members
“ have you checked and repaired that issue in the other room?”
Response
“ it look ok to me”
Now take a look at the photo and small video of one of the sinks in the gents toilet. Proper grimy.

The building is impressive, but our room was not prepared, reception did not answer the phone, the food was either inedible or stone cold, and the waiter could not have cared less. This shocking experience ruined a birthday celebration. We have never come across anything like this on our other (20+) breaks, at other venues, over the last 4 years. But, as others have noted, the Warner experience has been deteriorating year on year. The choice and quality have gone down, whilst the prices have gone up. And if you write to complain about it, nobody will reply. It is such a pity that the old business model has been downgraded, because the breaks used to be fun.

I went to Corton coastal chalet hotel the place looked dated when we arrived, we had booked a premier chalet with roll in shower because at the time my wife had an operation on her foot which left her with a boot. We arrived on Monday 10th August 2026 we had to wait until 1500 to get our keys on trying these in the door I had to jiggle them to get the door open on entering the smell of the room was terrible and on further inspection the bathroom had black mould in so many places we decided we couldn’t stay in this place as my wife also is asthmatic and this would have given her some illness we couldn’t imagine. However when all said and done the manager came across took photos and said she would action a full refund and we left but our holiday was spoiled because inefficient cleaning.

We came with friends for the ska weekend. We had a really fabulous time. The tribute acts were great and the quizzes were fun. The food was lovely - a real treat! The accommodation was great - we were in Harbour View. It was really hot. We brought our own fan which helped overnight as no air con. The taps were weird - ran hot for ages but got cold water eventually!
The highlight ended up being the activities - we did archery with Tommy, rifle shooting with Christian and axe throwing with Tommy. We had done this before in June with Tommy and Christian. They really made the weekend for us. They were very health and safety conscious first an foremost - being life guards at the pool too, we felt in safe hands! They were also very fun and informative with great personalities. A really good blend of safe practice (with potentially lethal equipment!) but fun and great humour! Tommy was especially great at managing us all!! No mean feat!! We didn't get to do activities with Aaron unfortunately, but he was lovely and ever so helpful. A really wonderful team!
All staff were just lovely!! We didn't want to leave!

ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL AND HEARTLESS 'CUSTOMER SERVICE !. Reference N3SFJKUFHU.
I am acting on behalf of elderly relatives who have been regular customers of Warners for many years who have just been dealt one of the cruelest blows imaginable, who have received the most unsympathetic and heartless treatment.
They were due to start their latest 3 night stay, at Bodelwyddan Castle tomorrow, but tragically my wife's auntie was told a few days ago after a brief admission at Walton Hospital that she has been diagnosed with a stage 4 brain tumour and the prognosis is very poor and very life limiting.
Having been previously very healthy this terrible bombshell was completely unexpected. A devastated husband and daughter have appealed to Warner's now apparently non existent better nature on numerous occasions since her mother's terrible diagnosis for compassion and flexibility with their booking process ie to amend their WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS in the hope that she may be strong enough to stay them or to refund their hard earned cash, as apart from the horrendous experience of her impending end of life care and indescribable agony for her self, her husband and other loved ones, my wife's aunty has the additional anxiety, upset and worry of her husband losing their holiday treat, money that they can ill afford to lose.
Hindsight would be a useful but sadly non existent help, but the amendment insurance was not considered necessary at the time of booking.
However, considering that an easily arranged goodwill gesture by Warners would not hurt them at all, with the tremendous distressing effects on top of their own misery and financial circumstances, a representative of Warners has apparently decided to not even respond to their emails, including a heart felt plea from the poor ladie's husband, and seems to take the attitude of 'hard luck !' and ignoring their plight and pleas for mercy. Perhaps the representative has not suffered personal grief in her life yet, hence the very cold and heartless way in which she refuses to show compassion or flexibility in this heartbreaking situation.
The husband and family naturally want to spend as much of their precious and valuable time caring for this very kind and beloved lady who would do anything for anybody, hence requesting me to represent them. To refund their money would not cause Warners any financial hardship as they have been given as much notice as was possible, they will not be using a room, consuming food or drink etc.
Your advert includes 'This is the good life, however you choose to live it'. Sadly the 'good' suddenly does not apply in some undeserving cases out of the blue and 'good' obviously does not apply in the case of Warners customer service. So come on Warners, do the right thing and be kind for a change or at least a member of Warners management step in to ensure that this most unfortunate situation is quickly resolved in a compassionate way.

Just experiencing a fantastic weekend at Norton Grange IOW, the staff are all very friendly, a big mention to the cleaning staff Maxine and her trainee Yacob, who for being a young lad, showed a nice friendly disposition and a very mature attitude towards his new job. There are too many staff to mention, all have been great as normal. Looking forward to coming back in November
