Despite being recommended to Ponko by a local who knew the ownership, I could not have had a worse experience.
I purchased a Hyundai i20 for almost 6k and within 10 months the engine had completely gone (timing chain and potential damage to pistons).
Gave the company the opportunity to put things right before posting this but they have decided to wash their hands of it because I am a few months outside of their 6 month warranty. Most genuine companies would at least attempt to put things right given how much i have spent and how short a time I have had the vehicle. I am now left with an unusable car and whilst still owing over 6k on my finance.
I have seen plenty of other reviews echoing my sentiments regarding the car quality

Avoid! This isn't company isn't worth the stress. Car seat failed to move back and forth. Garage had to strip to diagnose issue - standard. Car has been stood without the seat in since Friday waiting for the claim to be signed off since Saturday. Chased 5 times today, initially told it would be signed off within half hour. No communication, called 4 times throughout the day to be told it's not been signed off yet and they don't when it will be due to experiencing high call volumes. Never have I known calls volumes to affect a team signing off financials and claims! Between 30-45 minutes each call, most of which was on hold. Truth is the service is due on the car in a few days so they're delaying so the future year of cover (already paid for) will be void. Now the garage need to move the car to make space in their workshop but obviously cannot move the car due to the seat being out. Several hours work to strip - obviously part of the diagnosis as far as they're concerned so at my expense, leaves me in complete limbo. Cannot tell the garage to go ahead with the works or the claim will be void. Parts take 2 days from dealer so more time without a car. No garage wants to deal with this company due to the hassle. The only good thing going for this company is Jake in the technical team who at least does talk to you in an informative and professional manner but hasn't got the authority to sign anything of, although can collect evidence from the garage which he did do, as promised.
I paid £1000 for this privilege of self induced hassle. This would've paid for the car sear base and I would have my car back by now. It's going to be a long week!

26/7/2024 Warranty and new used vehicle purchased. Vehicle developed faults and visited independent VAT garage for inspection. Multiple faults identified and vehicle deemed not safe to drive. Claim submitted and initially declined until evidence of warranty held and paid for as per invoice. Resubmitted claim and advised that the vehicle will need to be inspected by them before authorisation of works. As the vehicle isn't safe to drive and the dealer being circa 230 miles away from the PONKO, option to return isn't valid or an option and therefore a deadlock situation. Claim via Small Claims Court now submitted to claim costs over £2000 and climbing due to other new vehicle faults. Purpose of Feedback is to highlight to others of PONKO's poor aftercare customer service and that they are happy to sell warranty add on products which they are unlikely to honor in the event of a claim as per others experience as listed on the TRUSTPILOT platform.
Was a bit worried about some of the reviews but i put in clam when the cooling fan failed thay sorted it out and paid with in a week so my car is back on the road great work Warranty protect

Not good at all scam artists , I bought a car 2 days ago the car developed a fault , I phone these scammers and they say they cant help so i asked for my money back but they are breaking the law and wont refund me , So now i have gone to trading standards and your company will be closed down , not wise to make enemies of people in high places.

This is the worst company I have ever experienced. Bought extra 2yr warranty with this company at a cost of £485. My car needed engine work after having the car only 3 months, costing £1,800. My car has been booked in to the car garage and been fixed and still two weeks after the work has been done am waiting for the warranty pay out.
I have sent at least 20 emails and called at least 10 times to chase this up. I have spoken to a series of incompetent staff who have been useless and lost the emails that have been sent. Even one staff member told me that we hadn't sent them even though I have the sent emails and receipts.
I am having to pay the £1,800 out of my own money even though I have multiple emails and verbal communication over the phone that the payment has been agreed and the warranty company would be paid.
Avoid this company at all costs. Nothing but stress, headaches and fighting for your pay out.

And most of the issues they do cover are minor repairs so you may as well go to your local garage and sort it yourself as it will be less hassle!

Leaves a bitter taste in my mouth and shows that Defend are more interested in finding ways not to payout, rather than support there customers with genuine claims.

It is impossible to speak to an advisor on the phone to make a claim. Options keep repeating themselves and have been on hold for 45 mins. Can anyone advise on how to speak to a person?

Absolutely worst experience ever....!!! Level of professionalism, customer service and insulting offer of resolution has left a bitter taste...!! I would not recommend taking a policy out with this company..... its not worth the fancy paper it's printed on. Summed up its as good as a lead brick in a swimming pool...!

I purchased my car in October from Reed autos and discovered a problem with the seatbelt sensor. As I wanted to get the repair done closer to home, the car was booked into a garage local to me. Unfortunately the garage carried out the repair but the problem persisted. I had to take the car back for further investigation and the situation became more complicated due to the fact that the garage resisted responsibility for misdiagnosing the problem. I dealt with Chris and Ryan during this claim and they were very professional and helpful. The car has now been fully repaired and I am pleased with my experience with them.

We bought a car a few months ago and we had a problem, because the garage didn't change a faulty piece that they mentioned they had replaced. I got in contact with Ryan and he was super useful since the first phone call. He always replied to my emails in a few hours and sent me all the detail information how to proceed with the warranty process. He was also the point of contact we us and the garage we bought the car. He helped us to get the car fixed in a few days after identifying the problem. A very good professional.

I recently purchased a vehicle from Reed Autos and in all honesty they would be the only place I will use again! I did have an issue with the car but both Reed Autos and Warrenty Protect were on the case ! Collected my car this morning and the work these guys have done is outstanding ! I purchased a high-price vehicle and within 3 weeks it became evident it had issues that needed urgent attention. I reached out to Warranty Protect - as I'd purchased 12 months cover - who handled everything. Ryan dealt with my case, he was so helpful & professional and responded to all calls and emails promptly. He kept me updated throughout, and helped get my car picked up from home, back to the dealers to be fixed as quickly as possible, and arranged a courtesy car for the duration. I bought a car from a fairly big garage which unfortunately developed a fault within a week of owning it. The garage I bought the car from were extremely unhelpful in getting it sorted but the same cannot be said for Warranty Protect - they were spot on! Ryan in particular, who was dealing with my case, was so helpful & professional and responded to all emails within a couple of hours. He kept me updated the whole time and although the process took a little while to sort, helped me to get my car fixed as quickly as he possibly could. Highly recommended.

He was professional but also friendly and caring and kept me in the loop every step of the way.
