Maybe this will get their attention. I purchased 12 echinacea eccentrics “plants” from Wayside gardens. Received the order and was surprised to find the roots more like fine threads or feeder roots. I followed the instructions carefully. Now 6 weeks later not one has sprouted. I called on 6/30/22. I was assured their horticulturist would return my call in 29-30 minutes. That did not happen. I called back in a few days. Message was they are closed July and August and any inquiries must be submitted via email. 2 emails sent…nothing. After reading the reviews I noticed their response was to send to the attention of Eric. 3rd email sent this time to Eric’s attention. Right now I’m out $143.00. I’m calling my credit card coming to see if I have any recourse. Will never use or recommend this company.

I received my order today of 20 plants called ‘tidal pool’. Very upset with the quality of these plants for the $. 200.00 price I paid. Please just go to your local nursery rather than buying online. I wish they did quality checks and I doubt these plants will thrive considering the size and condition.

This was my first and last year to order from Wayside. The 3 lavandula Phenomenal plants died, the echinacea Sombrero that I paid 20.95 never had a chance. It was tiny and on it's last leg when it arrived. The Heuchera Fire Chief was no longer in its container when it arrived so it was in bad shape I'm still babying that one. So disappointed. We live in a small town and are limited to what we can get so I was excited to try some new things. Lesson learned!

After following up with the company and providing my feedback the comany stood behind their product and resolved the issue so at this point I no longer have an issue with Wayside Garden or Park Seeds Wayside Garden or Park Seeds
I just received the two cheer drop trees for $29.95 each and
$19.00 shipping for a total of 77.54 and wow was I surprised. These trees look like a very very small Christmas dinner table decoration.
I emailed the company and followed up with a phone call before ordering and they responded by saying the plant height was 18" -24" high. The plants I got were seven inches high, these so call tree could fit in a coffee cup, I took a picture of a coffee cup next to the tree so folks could see the size comparison. Confirm the details of your order from this company, The website says Wayside Gardens, but the phone message states Park seeds.
I read a couple of reviews but did not read enough and after receiving the email and speaking to the company I thought it should be fine. These are not what you see at a Walmart or home center store or what I expected. The company understood my concerns and made things right and stated they were working on improving the order process.I appreicated their follow up.

Recently I ordered and paid for a wisteria plant but what arrived was not a plant; Actually it was a thin twig or part of a twig. I could not reach customer service because I was put on hold until I gave up. I then sent the twig itself and the Wayside paperwork directly to the president of the company. I never heard from her. Customer service contacted me by e mail and gave me the name of a specific person to call about this situation. Called that number and asked for that person. They said that no person with that name worked for Wayside. The person I talked to said they were willing to send me a replacement but he suggested that I didn t know the difference between what a plant in a pot and a bare root plant looked like. I told him that I could send him a photo I took of the small twig or he could go the president of his company s office and actually look at the thing. Not interested. I will wait to see what actually arrives this second time. Yes, everyone makes mistakes but clearly this company does not have a functioning quality control department. before ordering from Wayside take a look on Yelp and other sites to see the huge number of (documented) complaints about the awful quality of "plants " received and the inadequate response or lack of any response from customer service. Worst customer service I have ever had. My plants arrived completely broken to the base of the stem and they pretty much told me to rub epsom salt on my wounds and move on.

Ordered 6 plants for $100. The box came crushed, and the plants inside were leggy, sad, and wilted. Definitely not worth the money, at least 4 of the 6 were almost dead. I emailed their customer service, provided photos, and got no response after 7 days. After emailing again to request a refund they finally responded and offered to replace the 4 dead items. I would never order from here again.
Editing for clarity: I sent two emails. One, immediately after the dead plants arrived asking for replacements. Then, after seven days of radio silence I asked for a refund, which is when they said they were sending replacements - it wasn't until I followed up a second time that anything was done. My replacements have yet to arrive, but I am hoping they are better quality than what was sent previously.

A few days ago I wrote a review for Wayside explaining how of three different orders, one received last spring and then two more orders that I received this past.spring and what bad shape the plants were.when I received them. I stated that at.least 6 of them were.dead.or.almost.dead but I planted them to see if there was any hope for them. None of at least.6 survived. So I was contacted here telling me to send order information and they would get back to me. I sent copies of all three orders in two separate emails to information @ wayside.com Attention Jarrod as I was told. So I received a voicemail from a Candi fromWayside because apparently she had no clue why I had.sent emails. I called back, spoke to someone who said there was no record in the system of my orders??? So he called back later left voicemail saying to send pictures of problem along with order info. Don’t know how I am to send pictures of plants that never came up from last year and ones that are dead from this springs order. There is nothing left to see. Plus I had already sent order info last week.
This is the worst company. Product is bad, customer service is bad and plants are misrepresented. Plant said they were quart size. They were.more like cup size containers. I will never purchase from this company again. And I would never recommend to anyone.
I received my plant today, 5/23/2021 and it is nearly dead. All dry and wilted. This plant cost $25 plus ridiculous shipping charge of $13! I doubt it will live. It looks all brown and dry. Very unsatisfied!! Never order again from this grower!!

I ordered 6 plants and they came very quickly and all were in stock. Although the pots were indeed much smaller than pictured at the site, and the price was quite high, all of the plants were packed well and arrived in excellent condition. I would have given a 5 star rating if the pots had been the advertised size; however, I don't think I will order from here again.

I have yet to get through to anyone at Wayside Gardens concerning my order of plants in late March. I have called repeatedly without being able to reach anyone and I have already paid for my order. I need a refund.

$80 on plants that came dead or dying. Have replanted with lots of sun, love and water and they look abysmal. Should have known better; the site doesn’t even come with a product guarantee or a 1-800 phone number to call for customer service. Have reached out via email with pictures and no response. Have purchased before so should have know better; those plants also came dead or died soon after.
UPDATE: have tried repeatedly to get in touch with Wayside via their response below and no one has gotten back to me now in 5+weeks. DO NOT BUY FROM WAYSIDE!

I would give Wayside Gardens a zero if that was an option. My experience with Wayside Gardens was one of the worst experiences I have ever experienced with a plant nursery. I placed my order back in January using my PayPal account. I received an email message a couple of weeks ago from Wayside stating that there was a problem with processing my payment and listed a number to call. I called and was able to leave a message. Fast Forward a couple of weeks after trying to call a couple more times with no option to leave a message and outside their normal business hours (I am Mountain Standard, Wayside is Eastern) I finally reached Wayside today. First I was told that I had 72 hours to respond and that my order was cancelled. Then told by a supervisor that I only had 48 hours to respond and that the phone number they sent on the email did not have the capability to leave a message. Who did I leave a message with I wonder?
I have requested my name to be removed from the Wayside mailing list. I would not recommend Wayside as a reputable online plant nursery to order from....It is apparent, their customer service is poor and their response to solve a problem is less than poor. What a terrible experience. Now to go to my PayPal account and handle the pending payment for Wayside Gardens...
Service is a zero.

I received my order yesterday. Out of 14 plants ordered, only one was worth keeping. The other were very tiny with dried leaves and/or wilting leaves. I reiterate VERY TINY. Not something I would buy anywhere. I have written to Wayside and asked for a refund. I sent them pictures of these little dying plants that I paid almost $300. I am trying to make my garden more hummingbird friendly as they already love my Rose of Sharon bushes. I am on Social Security so spending this amount of money is not done easily. I have ordered plants from many places before, including Wayside and they were okay. there are two places from which I have ordered and not been dissappointed: Walmart and Amazon. Both places have always sent me thriving plants, well packed and arriving in perfect condition. No more Wayside Gardens for me. I hope I get my refund.

I placed an order for three (3) Lavandula 'Munstead'
@ $11.95ea and two died. I also ordered for a second time three (3) Phlox 'candy stripe' plants @ $7.95. two died (I ordered these as bareroots in 2018 and all three never bloomed). I just ordered two quart size rose bushes (I'd be surprised if they survive). I'd rather go to Home Depot or Lowes, they have a better and quality selection. I will not order from this firm again ... nothing survives.

Wayside delivered tiny barefoot Astrancia Sparkling Star and Dicentra Burning Heart for the cost of $11.95 and $14.95 respectively - not worth it! Will stick to local garden centers from now on and not be seduced by the catalogues!

Bought 3 blue boa and 3 lavender- 2 boas are barely alive and one of the lavender died. I sent an email and got no response, 3 in all. I called several times and nobody ever answered. Terrible customer service and plants are only 50% viable. After spending $90, I don’t believe I will be ordering again.

Used to order years ago and everything came in perfectly and survived. Last several times I recently ordered 2019, somethings were dry and were not healthy at all. Most did not survive. I will never order from them again. They are not a family owned business any longer and was bought out. Consequently I think quality has suffered

I ordered a weigela shrub recently which arrived after a couple of weeks in terrible shape. It was not only a tiny plant with few leaves, but some of the leaves were so dry that they crumbled in my hand. When I called to tell them I wanted to return the plant and explained why, the person I spoke to blamed it on the transport company and said there would be a 20% restocking fee. I questioned why I was responsible for damage from the transportation to no avail. It still didn't explain the quality of the plant I received. Obviously the company does not take responsibility for the quality of their goods. I will NEVER order from them again.

This place is amazing, the customers service is excellent. The trees and flowers are just breath taking. I want to thank them for all there great work and great customer service and I'm a customer for life.
