This is my first year purchasing from WG. I have been extremely please with every plant. They were mature and healthy. I find unique plants not available locally.
I ordered from 3 different companies this spring, and Wayside is the only one I will use again. Everything they shipped to me was perfect!
Plants arrive very well packaged. And good size for planting! Very healthy too!
I did have an issue of receiving an order with only 1 plant of each color (3 plants) of what was supposed to be 3 of each color (9 plants) of Black Eyed Susan Vines. Tried to order more but they were out. Sent email about problem but still haven’t heard back. Tried calling but no answer due to being very busy, which I understand. I did get an email that all of annuals were on sale. So I ordered 2 sets of 3 plants (they now had plenty) and all arrived in good time and I got them planted. Set me back a bit in getting them large enough before the bad heat set in. Still haven’t received credit for first order.
Other than this I’m very happy with their plants. Especially the ones I can’t find anywhere else. But customer service could use some help!

One of the clematis I ordered didn't look as healthy as the 2nd one I bought but I planted it and it's doing well. Delivery was very good. I would order again.

The plants that were shipped directly from the company turned out fine. An item that was shipped from another grower was a big disappointment. Ultimately Wayside customer service made it right, but it took several phone calls to get satisfaction and I didnt receive my full order before planting season was over.

Zebra plant arrived in good condition. Planted in a nice container. Not
white as advertised but just as good.
I purchased four different rose bushes which all came quickly. They were all bare root and received in excellent condition. Following instructions, I soaked each plant in water for 24 hours and proceeded to plant them in individual large containers. They grew quickly and are producing many flowers.
Watch out! Unlike most other companies I have ordered from, Wayside Gardens does not guarantee their plants will live. Four out of nine plants died over the winter (I am in an approved zone). Not only did I pay WAY too much for such a small plant (found them locally this spring for the same price for a much larger and established bush), but Wayside Gardens refused to give me any kind of credit or replacement. Go to your local shops folks, even the home improvement stores in my town have better quality!

I have had good experience with Wayside in the past, but my most recent order for a Dogwood and some perennials never arrived (the annuals that were part of the order did arrive). It took more than a month and several phone calls to finally cancel the non-delivered items. A refund was received but the shipping charged was never refunded (although the operator claimed it would be.) I never got an explanation of why these items did not ship. That's it, I won't be ordering from Wayside ever again.

I give them 2 stars only because of the Customer Service person I talked to on the phone. She was nice and friendly and, took care of my situation or, so I thought.
Here's the situation: I ordered 4 plants. The first 2 showed up crushed and dead tho no indication to the packaging showed it being crushed. Plants were also packed on their side, thus dirt was all over the inside of the box AND, what surprised me the most was they were packed with Styrofoam peanuts. So I call and explain. Was told I would get a refund (key word, refund) since the plants were no longer available. Other 2 plants show up the following week. One dead, like it was exposed to freezing temperatures (received plants in May), the other barely hanging on. Chalk it up to an experience I figure. They can keep my money on the 2, I won't order from them again.
Now comes the BIG insult. 1 month later, I get an email saying I have a merchandise credit that's good for a year. Go to the web site, every plant is out of stock. Now I have to wait until Mar/Apr of NEXT year to order plants? UNBELIEVABLE

There was a brief mix-up and they immediately righted it, no questions asked. They do what they say they are going to do and stand behind their products. I have used Wayside and Parkes for years.
Bought three but only two arrived alive. The third was very close to death and I could not revive it. Unsubscribed from Wayside Gardens emails and intend never to purchase anything from there again. Ordered two other items at the same time and neither of them grew.

Plants were beautiful and packaged wonderful for shipment, but customer service was horrible. Stayed on hold for over thirty minutes and never got the call back which was promised. This happened not once but twice.

i sent an email THE DAY i received the DEAD PLANTS from the UPS driver...107 heat index outside...can't imagine what it was in his truck...i have HEARD NOTHING...i'm very disappointed and out money and plants...reminds me of a jacket somebody wore--I REALLY DON'T CARE...well--I DO

I was amazed at how fresh the plants looked when I opened the box. Plants were healthy and showed no damage during shipment. I am always confident that when I order from Wayside I will be a satisfied customer.
The Tabasco Dahlia plants arrived in beautiful condition with flower buds. They have bloomed consistently after planting.
YOU HAVE THE MOST POORLY TRAINED CUSTOMER SERVICE IN ANY BUSINESS, YOUR METHOD OF SHIPPING PLANTS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED YESTERDAY. AN EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE. ANY CHANCE I GET TO SPEAK ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE WITH MY LAST ORDER I WILL GLADLY EXPRESS EVERY DETAIL OF HOW POORLY MY EXPERIENCE AS BEEN.

We have an excellent bricks-and-mortar nursery store close by, which we use for annual purchases, supplies, etc. Have been using Wayside Gardens for more unusual shrubs and perennials. The shipments always arrive in excellent condition, and on the rare occasion that something fails to grow the first year, they make good for a store credit.
