I’m disappointed with my experience purchasing Muds wellington boots. The boots began leaking just over a year after purchase, which is surprising given their price and intended outdoor use.
When I contacted customer services, I was asked to provide images—which I did twice—but was later told that nothing could be done as the boots were just outside the warranty period. I was advised to repair them with glue, which felt like an inadequate solution for a product that should be durable and reliable.
I raised my concerns, but the only goodwill offered was a 10% discount on a future purchase, which didn’t reflect the situation or the inconvenience caused. Overall, I found the service disappointing, and I expected better support when a product fails so soon after purchase.

We completely understand how frustrating it is when wellington boots begin to leak, particularly when they’re designed for outdoor use. That’s why Muds boots are supplied with a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty, which covers faults that occur within that period.

In this case, as confirmed during our correspondence, the boots were unfortunately just outside the warranty timeframe, which limits what we’re able to offer in terms of replacement or refund. We requested images so we could properly assess the issue and ensure it wasn’t a manufacturing defect within warranty.

After your review was received, we did ask if you would be happy to share your order details so we could personally review how the matter was handled by our team, however we haven’t yet received a response. Our offer to do so remains open.

While we appreciate this wasn’t the outcome you hoped for, the goodwill discount offered was intended as a genuine gesture to help towards a future purchase.

We always aim to be fair, transparent, and approachable, and we do regret that this situation has left you feeling disappointed.

Amazing Customer Service

I am so glad I found wellies.com, I purchased some fantastic MUDS wellies a couple of years back. They are really comfy and sturdy wellies, so well made 👌🏻😁. An excellent purchase. I wear them loads or long walks so they have lasted extremely well. Now the time has come to get a new pair…so straight back to Wellies.com for the exact same wellies! So pleased they are still available. Such a fab and friendly company, they really look after you 😁, which goes such a long way. Thank you very much Wellies.com Team you are great and I’m so pleased with my new pair of MUDS. They arrived very quickly too 🤩.

I love this company, as a former wholesaler I understand how important good service is.

When encountering a manufacturing fault, the correct response is to address it quickly, cleanly and with good grace.
They ticked every box, can't ask for more.

Replacment Wellies

I purchased a pair of Wellies in April and unfortunately the rubber started to come away from the lining, not a huge section but I was worried it would all start seperating

I contacted Wellies and they advised it was a fault and they shouldnt be coming apart, they have now sent me out new pair within 24 hours and also wellie glue to repair the faulty pair so that I have a spare pair

I was surprised they didn't want the faulty pair back as most companys would of, let alone send me wellie glue to fix them so I can still use them

Absolutely outstanding customer service, very quick to respond and even quicker rectifying the issue - fantastic company!!

Holes after a month

Just reading the last review I’m not a farmer and my wellies had hole where boots join sole with in a week I do not wear my wellies 65 hrs a week then after a month they split on top of the boot the insides was a mess holes in material you need to step your game up the quality is really bad

Excellent goods and service

Tony was so helpful from the onset. I phoned to check a few things and was impressed with the speedy delivery, especially as the Hound wellies were bought as a fairly last minute Xmas present idea and first impressions of the goods and service were very good. We needed to exchange the wellies for a bigger size and having checked the exchange process which is explained on the website before I bought them, Tony explained via email the return label options. Tony sorted the exchange as quickly as he could. The recipient of the wellies is very happy with the size, style and comfort and used them straight away.

Awful company and horrible after sales

Brought a pair of hound wellies and the game fsir last year. I waiting 2 weeks for delivery. They have severely worn on the insides after 6 months use and have a leak in the sole. I was told this was normal wear and tear and they can’t do anything about it, I was advised to buy “a pair of plastic wellies” for work instead! Awful company and they after sales is a joke!

Edit to reply to the company’s reply. I don’t wear them 65 hours a week youve just made that figure up. Maybe 10 hours a week at most. And worn through, and soles leaked after 4 months. Awful company who I’ll never deal with again. There CS is rude and judgemental

They're "severely worn" because you're a farmer who wears them for 65 hours a week and have done for 7 month. That's what wear and tear is. The more you wear them, the quicker they wear.

Poor Aftersales

I purchased a pair of Hound Racefield boots at the Yorkshire shooting show 25th September last year to use on the local shoot. A nice fitting boot that kept my feet warm.

I must express disappointment that, after the left boot started leaking and emailing the company to ask how we proceed, that they only give a 12 month warranty. I sent a further email to explain that the boots have been used less than two dozen times and has failed after 13 months only to be ignored.

I disagree with your review. Our aftersales support is fantastic. We have a record of honouring 100% of valid warranty claims.

In your case you informed us of an issue with your wellies outside of the 12 month warranty period. So unfortunately you don't have a valid warranty claim.

I'm sorry you're disappointed with this, but the warranty is based on a time period, and not the number of wears.
