Dismissive response when I tried to report fraud

I went to Solihull Police Station front office yesterday to report fraud. This has now happened three times in the space of six months, and I am a vulnerable adult. I expected my concerns to be listened to and properly recorded.

Instead, the female station officer directed me to Action Fraud. I could not make a report through the service I was directed to. I also explained that, when the same sort of fraud happened before, the officer dealing with me told me to come back and ask to see him if it happened again. I asked her for that officer’s name—not her own—but she refused to give it to me.

She did not properly look at the information I was trying to show her about the attempted fraud, and no report was taken. I left feeling dismissed and unsupported, despite following the advice I had been given by the officer who dealt with the earlier incident.

I hope Solihull Police reviews how its front office handles repeat fraud reports, makes sure people are directed to a working reporting route, and treats vulnerable people with more care and respect.

They would not take any issue with you seriously. They are complete waste of tax payers money and steeped in bueracrecy and red tape. The form to submit complaint is completely nonsensical. I have had two seperate cmplaints one of a dog attack where I submitted the photo of the person too, no action was taken. We have racist white thugs living next door whose harrasment was reported but no action. West Midlands is a hopeless region to live in and would not retain any talent.

Appalling! I contacted WMP multiple times and they didnt respond so I raised a complaint, that wasnt responded to. I raised a complaint that my complaint wasnt responded to and they havent responded to that either.
They are a disgusting waste of time. Ignorant and do not provide the public service they are there to do

I want to share my heartfelt thanks to the police officer who came out to our home today after I reported two separate incidents concerning my child and issues involving their school. I had explained my reasons for not being able to report these matters sooner, and I was given complete understanding.

​The officer took the time to genuinely listen to both myself and my partner, but most importantly, took the time to listen to my son, who has autism. Having someone show that level of patience, care, and respect meant everything to us.

I visited Stechford Police Station as an adult to support a family friend who had been involved in an altercation and, unfortunately, found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I have to say, I was genuinely gobsmacked by how friendly, respectful and professional all the officers were. In particular, Officer Ali and the lady at the front desk, who everyone referred to as “Sarg”, really stood out.

They did exactly what they needed to do — they asked the appropriate questions, followed the correct procedures and treated everyone with respect throughout. When it was established that my family friend had done nothing wrong, what happened afterwards really stayed with me.

Sarg took the time to give the young people some genuinely encouraging life advice. It honestly felt like watching a teacher speaking to a student and telling them that they have a bright future ahead of them. It was a small gesture, but it showed a level of care and humanity that you don’t always expect in a situation like this.

You hear so many negative stories and opinions about the police, and I completely understand why people can sometimes have concerns. But experiences like this deserve to be recognised too.

The officers at Stechford Police Station treated people with dignity, kindness and professionalism, while still doing their job properly. That experience has genuinely restored some of my faith in humanity and, more importantly, in our police force here in the Midlands.

A huge thank you to Officer Ali, Sarg and the rest of the team. You may not realise how much of a difference your attitude and kindness made that day, but it certainly didn’t go unnoticed.

I phoned up to report a crime, how I believe a currys delivery driver has not delivered my fridge freezer, but has instead stolen it. Rather than investigate a theft - they informed me to contact currys, which I had done a number of times- clearly if currys are involved in a theft then they are not going to investigate themselves. Absolute joke- sums up why people have no respect for the police.

They dont want to give you any time as they need it to go to Burger King.

When your a victim they just end up penalising or even charging you instead! Please explain.

They're all thick & stupid.

They do exactly what they want which is nothing, just a crime reference number if you're lucky.

They also egotistical & abuse their powers. Two tier policing, they are not impartial at all.

WMP are the worst police force in England. their phone staff are so egotistical they care more about themselves than the victim calling reporting a crime. Trying to report a crime that I am witnessing and instead the terrible phone admin staff make it about themselves. What an absolutely disgusting and shameful training staff must have answering the most important calls. These phone call operatives all need to be fired, replace them with Ai if you have to, but these disgusting staff will cost innocent lives. I phoned to report crime happening and instead I was met with rude disgusting phone staff.

These issues have been ongoing for the past 13 years. In my view, the most recent incident of harassment occurred on 26 June 2026 and involved West Midlands Police. Despite the passage of time, I believe the pattern of conduct has continued without being properly addressed.

I can only give 1 star. If it were possible, I would give West Midlands Police even less.

Based on my experience, I believe that West Midlands Police and Birmingham City Council have, over 13 years, supported or failed to take appropriate action against racism, crime, anti-social behaviour, harassment, discrimination, and threats. I also believe that officers and advisers from both organisations have repeatedly provided misleading information instead of addressing my concerns.

The IOPC concluded that the police's conduct was not reasonable. Despite this, I feel that I have not received justice. I am particularly disappointed that, in my view, the Professional Standards Department provided inaccurate or misleading information rather than carrying out a fair and transparent investigation.

My experiences have left me with little confidence that the courts will protect my rights. I believe there has been interference by West Midlands Police and Birmingham City Council, and I feel that my concerns have not been considered fairly.

The impact on my health has been severe. I have developed serious health conditions and, because of the distress caused by these events, I have stopped visiting my doctor and have been living with ongoing pain.

I believe that my human rights have been breached by West Midlands Police and Birmingham City Council and that their actions have not complied with the law. I sincerely hope that those who have acted dishonestly or negligently are held accountable and that justice is ultimately served.

I pray to God and ask the higher power that governs this universe to bring justice and hold accountable those who, in my view, have wronged me, including West Midlands Police, the Professional Standards Department, Birmingham City Council, and Birmingham County Court. I place my faith in God's justice and hope that the truth will ultimately prevail.

For the past 13 years, I believe the racism I have experienced has profoundly affected and disrupted every aspect of my life.

Very racist police force they leave ethnic minorities and only bother white british people. The whole west midlands police force wants looking into please if youre white do not trust these racist

West Midlands police are dangerous and toxic people they allow hate crime to happen. they get mixed up with mental health and being distressed and upset and use mental health against you as a weapon. they also slander you and defam you and breach your data to the members of the public so you get attacked for it and the police do nothing and i believe they only employ people to the job for the money hence why they dont take hate crime seriosuly or any crime that happens or reported

An individual entered our mosque on Alum Rock Road and was being unruly. Was getting nowhere with the operator so I gave them the address and hung up.

completly incompetant ,useless,lazy,brain dead,unhelpfull,wrongly arrested after long day at work due to phycho dole scrounging neighbour causing criminal damage to my home goaded me into a scuffle ,locked me up for 19hrs to miss important business meeting,promised help if abuse continued which has turned out to be a complete lie,they dont want to help. zero points for assesing a situation by brain dead pc's and there bosses are happy to take away your liberty for doing nothing but protect yourself and your property,lost all faith in the police,bunch of wrong uns !
