Great experience !

Went to the showroom since I heard that What a Room, does custom sofas. I have a narrow living room, however quite long and obscure, so my partner and I couldn't find a sofa that fit our taste and size. Luckily this place was able to cater to our spacing and had a great recommendation and render service to help us visualize how it would look and how much spacing is available. Very indepth rendering was awesome.

One thing that I wish they did was coming into our home to help measure the space. they do not do in home consultation and we were required to measure the space and submit the details on their website portal. Which isn't too bad but still, it would've been nice.

Delivery went smoothly and service was great, no hiccups from start to finish.

I was in the market for a new sofa and…

I was in the market for a new sofa and honestly had no clue where to begin. I had just bought a house and wanted something that felt like forever furniture, not something I’d replace in a few years. I’m so glad I found What A Room.

The customer service is what really stood out. Picking fabric can get overwhelming fast, especially when you’re trying to balance color, comfort, and durability. I have a dog, so that was a big factor for me. They didn’t just say “this one is pet friendly” and leave it at that. They explained why certain fabrics would hold up better, talked through durability, cleanability, and what would realistically work for my lifestyle. It felt honest and knowledgeable, not salesy.

The rendering service was the biggest game changer. I sent them photos and my floor plan, and when I got the renderings back, it honestly looked just like my space. Everything was scaled correctly, which made it so much easier to visualize. I was able to measure things out and feel confident about the exact dimensions before ordering. That alone gave me peace of mind.

They checked every box for me, from communication to helping me feel 100 percent confident in my choice. I went with the Daphne and I couldn’t be happier. The quality is there, the comfort is there, and the whole experience felt smooth from start to finish. Definitely a forever customer.

Disappointing Experience

We ordered 2 Daphne sofas in hamstead oyster, and medium cushions. The sofas look nice from afar. Once you sit on it, the “medium” cushion is VERY plush. Definitely wouldn’t recommend if you don’t want to sink right into your couch. My lower back aches after sitting on it for 5-10 minutes.
The fabric was originally nice, but only after 2 months it’s starting to pill.
The overall weight of the sofa is also too light because if you don’t have it up against a wall, it’ll move around on you. Overall very disappointing experience and Shocked that there aren’t any bad reviews online based on our experience. We had really high hopes and nothing worked out.

Cushion feel is very much a personal preference. What feels "medium" to one person can feel too soft to another. When we were standardizing our firmness levels, we gathered a ton of instore survey data to set our Soft / Medium / Firm scale. Most customers who choose Medium finds it aligns well with their expectations, and online reviews generally reflect the same. With that said, we completely understand this doesn’t change your situation, so we’ll reach out directly to see if there’s anything we can do to help make your sofa more comfortable.

Regarding the fabric pilling, I want to reassure you that this is normal especially during the early stages of use. The Hampstead fabric collection has a looser weave, so some fibers naturally work their way out and shed at first. Pilling at this stage is considered cosmetic and not a sign of bad quality or low durability. Once loose fibers are removed, it typically slows down or stops altogether. Like many other customers we recommend using a small fabric shaver (available at most hardware stores or on Amazon) as an easy way to manage it.

We also recommend using an area rug or rubber/non slip pads under the sofa legs to help reduce your Daphne sofa from sliding. The sofa’s weight has little effect because we place plastic furniture glides under the legs to protect the floor from scratches. This is very common for almost all furniture.

Extremely happy with my sofa! Highly recommend

I’m extremely happy with my Tiffany Chaise Sofa. I spent months researching the best sofa and came across many positive reviews about What a Room. It honestly exceeded my expectations! It feels sturdy and well-made, the comfort level is just right, and the color is absolutely beautiful in person. The medium firmness gives a great balance of support while still being cozy. The team was also fantastic throughout the process, patiently answering all my questions by email. Ordering a sofa online without seeing it first can feel a little scary, but the customer service before I ordered and even after ordering gave me the reassurance I needed.

Customer service was very responsive and I I got a custom sofa.

Customer service was very responsive. There was someone that helped me from beginning to end. The added bonus was that I was able to order a custom sectional that fit EXACTLY into a space that I wanted. Other retailers were either too big or too small. What a room was Goldilocks, “just right”. They were able to extend my sectionals 7”.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. What a room hired a company that was going to do white glove delivery. We paid $200 extra for shipping and white glove delivery. The people sent by freight company were incompetent and unprofessional. The couch was big and needed to be brought in at an angle. They wedged it in and out multiple times. Completely shredded the legs of the couch and destroyed out entryway. They finally couldn’t fit in and left the couch with the cushions lying on the dirty floor in the garage.
My husband brought it in the next day with no problems at all. What a room did not even want to reimburse our delivery fee. I am so disappointed with this company and will never be ordering from them again

Thrilled!

I was a little nervous about ordering custom-made furniture online, but in the end, I’m thrilled I did! The fabric samples were accurate and the design process was easy. The team at What a Room was very helpful in making sure the dimensions I chose made sense in my space, even from afar. Delivery was hassle-free and included set up. Most importantly, the couches and chairs are FANTASTIC. Super comfortable, beautiful, and well made. I’m so glad I went ahead with my purchase and I’d order from What a Room again in the future! Nothing I’d change.

Amazing couch

We LOVE the couch. Super comfortable, exact dimensions we ordered, and showed up on time with quality white-glove delivery service. Highly recommend if you're looking for a custom couch. Custom sectional

We recently purchased a sectional sofa from what a room. We were able to select fabric samples and choose our upholstery, as well as custom sizing from several different models. We've had the furniture for a couple months now, and it seems get well constructed. While we did have a couple of hiccups in logistics (original shipment lost one of the pieces, and the remade piece did not fit the other), the customer support I received was unheard of in this era. I'd definitely recommend this supplier!

I only have amazing things to say!

I only have amazing things to say about my experience! First off, after placing my order, What a Room emailed me to make sure I chose the correct dimensions. My dimensions were in fact a little wonky, and they helped me nail down the exact size I needed. The delivery service was extremely professional and very kind. And the chairs look amazing! We’ve even gotten comments from friends on how well-made the chairs are. I would recommend What a Room to anyone and will definitely use them for any future furniture needs.
