Great service and quality

Jon was great and very helpful, answering stock questions via the Facebook page and further personally emailing me to let me know one sample I’d ordered wasn’t in stock but the rest would be sent out with the other being sent promptly after, which it was. The flooring purchase was quick and easy, and of great quality. Would buy here again.

Exceptional service and fantastic quality products

Exceptional service. Very helpful where samples were sent and discussed what would be suitable. There was a period where I couldn't decide what would work or look right and Jonathan helped me decide by sending more samples which I offered to pay for but he didn't accept payment which was very generous. A fantastic helpful service and very good quality products. I found another supplier with a similar product but double the price. The prices of these products are very competitive.

Supplied me with broken flooring completely unable to be used.

UPDATE: You choose not to believe me when I trusted your product and service. Absolutely zero offered in return. Horrendous.

UPDATE 2: I guess Alex from July last year must be lying too (exact same issue as me). :)

Dear Murray,

Unfortunately when you have had the flooring for almost 2 months before reporting it as received damaged, we are unable to verify where the damage took place.

This is the reason why our website as well as the delivery confirmation email stipulate that you should check your product upon receipt for any damages in order for us to be able to replace it.

UPDATE RESPONSE:

Dear Murray,

After reading through your email responses, it is plain to see that you damaged the flooring yourself and then attempted to threaten us with a bad review on Trust Pilot to get it replaced for free. Looking at your other Trust Pilot reviews it would appear that we are not first company that you have attempted to weaponize review sites against.

Excellent service

In January 2023 I had a difficult time with cowboy builders who claimed to be able to fit a compact worktop but did not understand how to cut or secure the material. John, and his lovely parents who were helping out at the time, took the time to walk me through the process, advise on how the worktop should be handled and alert me to any factors that could damage the workshop prior to installation. They also rang me back a number of times, especially after the builders had misplaced accessories, and sent me out replacement materials.

In October I contacted John regarding advice about my timber floors (I have a 1930s property). He gave me sound, measured advice and also told me how to identify any future problems.

Wood Flooring Kent offers excellent personal service.
John will call you back, provide clear advice about their products and ensure that you know what you need to know to complete your job.

Disappointing customer service.

Disappointing. Ordered from this company and when I opened the the boxes one was damaged. The issue is that apparel you have to check them within 24 hours or they will not refund your damaged goods. Not ideal when all the boxes look undamaged and your build is a month away so you don’t check.
Poor customer service as they did not even ask to see the damage which would have helped with a sensible decision.

Hi Alex,

I'm sorry to hear that you are disappointed by our policy on the return of damaged goods.
Unfortunately as you first advised us that 1 pack of your flooring was damaged 2 months after receiving it we have no way of knowing where or when the damage occurred.
Given the length of time that had passed a photograph of the damage would not offer any insight into the time or place of which the damage took place.

Poor delivery service but great products.

The all process of buying was great. I truly recommend the shop and products, however the courier service is poor!!! It costs a lot and when you pay for something is obvious that you are home to collect the order. Their driver did not use a doorbell also did not call the number etc. Only took a selfie in front of the front door...
The tracking number was sent via text 5 hrs after "failed" delivery!!!
I had to pay another rescheduling fee even if someone was at home waiting for this delivery!

The next delivery attempt was great, the tracking number sent earlier also allowed me to follow the whole process. Delivery is kerbside only, but the driver helped us carry the packages to the hall.

Perfect service

Ordered flooring on Tuesday 28/03/23 arrived no damage on 30/03/23 excellent service, unusual nowadays but massively appreciated.

Definitely recommend, fantastic experience.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. We have put laminate throughout our property with electric underfloor heating. The advice from John and the team was really good, honest and straightforward. Couldn’t fault them. Delivery was on the day we asked for, the driver was extremely helpful. The price of the laminate was the best I could find on the internet. Would definitely recommend and will be buying from John and the team again.

Extremely helpful!

Both John and Dave have been extremely helpful! I recently had a new boiler fitted and the contractor snapped the hose to the washing machine hence causing a flood. After doing some research and ordering some samples I decided on some Quickstep laminate flooring. I shopped around and Wood Flooring Kent worked out to be the cheapest. I read the reviews which were excellent so decided to order my flooring through them. They didn't have the Basic Plus underlay in stock and kindly offered to price match the next grade up so that I could have it delivered on time for my joiner to start the work next week. I can't fault them so far. Would highly recommend!

What an amazing experience dealing with…

What an amazing experience dealing with John at Wood Flooring Kent. From the start of the process to the order being delivered he couldn’t have been more helpful. The customer service is exceptional, nothing is too much trouble.
The order was delivered to a room of my choice not left on the kerbside like other companies offer.
The gentleman who delivered was again so helpful and friendly.

Not recommended

Having been threatened with legal action (for which there is no grounds) I have removed my previous detailed and accurate account of my experience with this company. This is my revised review. The company, such as it is, is just one person. They give the impression of being a large organisation with staff. It is one man, Jon and he has fitted flooring for us. They now purport to be a supply only company. I have invoices to prove they fitted my flooring. It is my honest belief that this company do not provide a good service and I would absolutely not recommend them. Their on going responses to my review are increasingly inaccurate, why would anyone be angry that a company did not supply a fitting service . . . ??! It a makes no sense and they did fit my flooring and this is my review of that service.

Firstly, just to address the immediate inaccuracies in this review;

The original review contained flagrant lies amounting to defamation, there were very much grounds for the threat of legal action.
This company is not just one person, granted it is a very new and small organisation in comparison to our competition. We have never attempted to give the impression that we are an organisation of any particular size.
Jon (the company director) did in the past operate as a sole trader floor fitter under the name Wood Flooring Kent and did indeed fit a floor for this person (to which they were highly satisfied and very grateful).

Now, fast forward to present day. In March this person contacted Jon directly to ask if he was still fitting, and would he consider fitting another floor for their children 60 miles away in the city of London. Having explained that we no longer offer a fitting service, Jon agreed to still undertake the job as a favour to a previous customer, knowing that there is currently a long wait for fitters in the area.

Having explained that as this company was still in infancy and very busy, he wouldn't be able to get out to fit the floor for her children until quite a bit later, but she explained that they were quite desperate as were due to move into the house very soon. At this point, Jon contacted another highly experienced and professional fitter that was closer to the area and secured him to go and fit the floor sooner on behalf of this customer.

Over the next 2 weeks, as the job was far away, countless hours of Jon's evenings and weekends were spent helping to arrange this job, as all that was available was a floor plan and some photo's of odd areas supplied by the customer, baring in mind that neither Wood Flooring Kent or Jon were providing the service anymore, this was done just to assist the customer and fitter. In order to secure the fitter, a small deposit was charged to the customer, which the fitter agreed upon completion of the job would be paid to Jon for his time working on the organisation. As the customer herself was remote to the job site, she had no contact with the fitter and insisted on paying him through Jon (using the sole trading account that she had previously used so as not to confuse matters financially).

As previously mentioned, fitters are incredibly busy at the moment, and the fitter on this job was no expection. He had alloted 3 days to complete the job (an entire house minus the front room and kitchen as these rooms required other work prior to the flooring installation, at which point he would return to fit these floors). Upon arriving at the job, he immediately finds that the job is not as described by the customer, and that the entire upstairs of the property requires plywood underlayment before it is suitable to have a laminate floor fitted on it. He quickly prices up material and labour costs for providing this service, and sets to the task of doing so. After working 3 long days, he manages to complete the flooring besides a small area by the front door, which was later decided should be left until the kitchen had been fitted so as to avoid damage, and the scotia beading/door threshold strips, meaning that the floor is suitable for the home owners to move in.

The customer pays for his bill and then decides that it is Jon's responsability to go to the site and complete the remaining work for free. After explaining that the fitter who had been paid for the work will be happy to complete the finishing touches when he returns to fit the flooring in the front room and kitchen, the customer became extremely hostile, insisting that it wasn't good enough and that she had paid for the work to be completed and it must be completed now. This resulted in several days of abusive messages, emails, and phone calls to both Jon personally and Wood Flooring Kent.

So as to avoid further unnecessary grief for the fitter or the actual home owners, Jon agreed to travel up for a day to complete work at great cost to both himself and Wood Flooring Kent, and informed the customer that they must find a new fitter for the remaining flooring once it is ready as neither he nor Wood Flooring Kent will be dealing with her in the future. While there, it was noted that there was not quite enough Scotia ordered to complete the job (as no one had measured the area physically so the order was based purely on the floor plans given by the customer). Everything that could be done was done, and the home owner was very happy with all aspects of work that was undertaken.

The following day, this customer sends yet another email berating everyone involved for there not being enough scotia, insisting that Wood Flooring Kent should supply more scotia for free as she had paid a deposit to Jon for the flooring work (no one is able to see the correlation here). Due to the volume and tone of the communications from this customer, the decision was made to block her from further communication with our company. She then proceeded to continue the harassment with Jon personally, who has now also blocked her from communication.

This has now lead her to continue her torrent of abuse on any platform she can find, namely review websites. We have requested that the review sites take these down as they are not to do with Wood Flooring Kent, but at this time they are refusing to do so as they are unable to see the reasoning behind our request.

Genuinely had a great experience

Genuinely had a great experience with Wood Flooring Kent. We decided to contact them based on the previous reviews and they seemed to have a good choice of flooring, so we have no affiliations. They have always been very responsive and happy to say we would use them again - they delivered promptly as requested (we had a very tight deadline) and Jon communicated superbly.
