You know that scene in Matilda where mr wormwood laughs manically as he puts sawdust in the engines and runs back the clocks… well that’s the image I get when thinking of buying this van. It had a new badly fitted bumper for the wrong van, awful paintwork and a quick valet. We brought a VW transporter shuttle via distance selling from Affordable Car Centre an AA approved garage on 18/01/24. It quickly became apparent there were issues with it and it has been missold. We got a local mechanic to come and view it and he told us to send it back. We called the garage we bought it from and he assured us the mechanic was wrong, told us he’d put a new engine in it if that’s what he was told to do and basically wouldn’t take it back without us driving it down and we’d been told not to drive it. We then got a proper AA inspection to confirm the issues in black and white and honestly it was laughable, they mark in red amber and green and the only green was it had 2 keys 😂 so we called him told him we had an AA report saying it was undrivable and asked him to arrange collection. The van had an excessive oil leak and a steering column leak. It was obvious that someone throughout the sale knew about it as all the fluid had been filled up to a dangerous level and we were told that if we’d drove it down the motorway it either would’ve overheated or the power steering would fail. On top of this the rear passenger door didn’t open from the inside so if we’d been in a drivers side crash we wouldn’t be able to get our children out. He said okay it will be in the next 2-5 days (from Tuesday 30th Jan). We hadn’t had an update so on Friday I called back and was told it would be Monday or Tuesday and they would message the day before to confirm with a time. Sunday evening I got a message requesting my full address so I asked will it be tomorrow? No response. I called on the Monday and was told he had made an error and not told them it was long wheelbase and it would be collected Wednesday, we told him we’d now been without a vehicle a week and it needed to be collected Tuesday, he said he would try and he’d be in touch. Surprise surprise Tuesday he called adamant it could only be Wednesday. I found multiple quotes for people who could collect it that day for £300 (£100 more than he was paying) he refused and told me I’d have to cover the full £300 if I did that which I refused. He then said the man would be here first thing Wednesday, then by 5pm Tuesday it would be 12pm, at 12:30pm I called him and the man was apparently stuck in Leeds and would be 2 hours, 2:30 came he never turned up. I also sent over the bank details so he could set up payment which he didn’t do. At 4pm he said if the driver wasn’t there to collect at 6pm he’d send over the full payment. At 5:30pm the driver turned up to collect, we called the garage to release the funds and he said he hadn’t set it up and could send £5k then and the balance an hour later, he sent the 5k and the driver then expected us to let him go with the van. We told him not a chance and kept hold of the v5 offered him a brew and told him he’d have to wait for the balance to be transferred. An hour later it was finally done. We’ve had no apology we’ve been told lie after lie. We asked for a new MOT prior to sale which was refused because it had 8m left, then we were told the AA must be wrong because the garage they’d bought it off had had an AA inspection done but couldn’t show us this, then it was that he’d had an off the record MOT done just before we had it but he couldn’t provide a record of this either. The problem with lies Kamran is eventually you can’t keep them straight. Honestly will be posting this review on every forum I can find. You’ve cost us £200 in transport, £193 for an AA check, £40 for a local mechanics check & £31 insurance and more importantly you knowingly put my boys in danger! Don’t buy from this garage.

What could they do to improve? Find a new vocation. Possibly the circus 🤡

I called this 'company' via telephone to ask about a car and then paid a £500 deposit on to hold the car until we travelled down to view it, but we then changed our mind about it for various reasons, one of which was the fact that I couldn't find anything about the company to whom I had paid the deposit to on Companies.house.Gov.uk. I could only find information saying that it was a "dissolved" company! I then phoned to cancel and ask for my deposit to be returned to me. I was told I would receive my refund once the car was re sold to someone else! I called back to ask again again after another week or so and was then aggressively told NO! I wasn't getting it back and that even if I take them to a small claim court they would counter sue me for over well over £1000!!
I did record all the telephone conversations and will be posting them.
It was a shocking experience!

These scammers shouldn’t be in business. Avoid like the plague.

Doesn’t even deserve 1 star! They sell cars that are unsafe! They had put said car through an mot and said it had passed, due to the car problems and having it taken to another garage it was proven that the car should NOT of passed it’s MOT and it should NOT be on the road!!

Where do I start I didn’t want to do this but I have no choice and need all the evidence I can so here we go
Nearly 5 months of back n forth as I’ve been sold a vehicle with several serious faults and proved that the vehicle is faulty with a diagnostic check from an AA approved garage and still waiting on a response from the dealership
The car has been back n forth from my house to the dealership even without my knowledge of the vehicle being returned
The service has been diabolical nobody is taking authority or action as zuto have paired me up with a dodgy dealer who fronts MOT’s and has a massive history of selling dodgy cars AFFORDABLE CAR CENTRE LTD - BEDFORD MK44 3LH please avoid and save your self the legal fees and having to report zuto and affordable cars to trading standards as the level of service and help to sort this hasn’t been taken I’ve done 401 miles in 5 months and have 30k annual mileage insurance plan I’ve not even touched the mileage I want to do from my clutch master cylinder breaking within 15 mins of having the vehicle delivered the car arriving dirty and scratched and just unacceptable in the condition it was in .
And that’s not it I’ve got a booklet of photos of all the issues with the car and funnily enough replaced my brake pads but not the disc , so many underline issues wasted a week of holiday trying to sort this all out and zuto have been a pain in my a** from trying to communicate politely and concise to advisors laughing at my situation and giving poor customer advise I’m a new driver and this is my first experience buying a vehicle and it’s been nothing but trouble I want reimbursing for everything my money was good enough for you to take but any issues they promise call backs within 24hrs but don’t call back in the time frame I’ve called every couple of days for updates and nothing Ive stressed myself out and sought legal advice because I am at my witts end I trusted zuto and believed in their values and trusted them to source me a vehicle I’m sick n tired of waiting this is their fault and zuto need to take action immediately
Do not accept anything they offer until you have researched the company and have proof of an AA approved garage diagnosis check

Afforable car centre had played a massive part of screwing over every client they get please avoid to save your life potentially these people are untrustworthy and will screw you over do not use don’t even look at the site backyard dealership and I’m stuck with a vehicle that THEY WONT RETURN but will offer repair I am not paying out for a vehicle I’ve just purchased when I’ve not even driven it enough to warrant any problems complete joke will never use auto or affordable cars and I’m taking as much legal action as I can just trying to giving the company an opportunity to fix their mess but we will see

A very enjoyable experience. Sales team who don’t push or hassle, well priced small car, as described. Easy self test drive and walk about.
Well priced. Small issue of the multimedia touch screen not working. Replaced and fitted without hesitation at their expense.

I bought a car in May. Its been sitting outside unroadworthy since the beginning of August with a failed MOT. Had to replace the battery after breaking down just 4 days after collecting it. The engine is absolutely ruined. Oil leaks. Air con not working. Split wishbone. Emissions fails. The list goes on and they will do nothing about it. I am 8 grand in debt for a car that I drove for 1 month. Absolute disgrace. Would quite frankly believe the MOT they provided was a fake and also that they have broken the law even selling a vehicle in this state. Avoid like the plague.

Avoid, avoid - bunch of scammers! Terrible hidden problems with the cars they sell! Oil leaks, problems with a turbo engines, wrongly fitted parts. Fake warranty advertised, paperwork not filled properly. They should be investigated by the training standards ! Look at other reviews - never buy from them!

Our car stopped working after 4 weeks. Manager refused to mend or refund, now ignoring us. Do not buy from here. Do not believe the descriptions, do not believe the reviews on their website. Warranty a joke. AA promise a joke.

Bought car 4 weeks ago, paid asking price as wanted warranty ( don’t get one if you get discount!!!) The timing chain has gone and they refuse to fix it or give refund

VERY DISAPPOINTED. Not met their part of the contract. Buyers beware. Despite numerous messages / emails, I've still not had paperwork through the post, nor refund if admin fees wrongly charged nor any offer to put right any of the issues raised with them about the car. This is my first review "Don't even deserve 1 star. Sold st discounted price but never advised would not be given warranty as not paid full price. Also still not received service book, not given proof of finance paid, wasn't given new keeper slip so had to pay £25 fee to apply for logbook. Not advised of hard clutch pedal nor that the vehicle had got damage to it ie. dents in bodywork and broken drivers side visor and mirror with no light. Additionally, there were mould Mark's on the passenger seatbelt. WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY"

Be very careful with this place. If you sadly buy a car from them, get it checked over immediately by a reputable Company for undisclosed issues.

We were sold a car that had been in an undeclared Headon collision and looked like it should have been a cat b or s car. Dodgy mot and some very bad attempts at repair came to light on a safety check at halfords. To quote them it was one of the worst and potentially dangerous cars they had ever seen. Cables removed to prevent warning lights, the gearbox fell on to the engine housing while we were driving it. Coolant leaked, oil leaked, everything in the engine housing had been impacted backwards, airbag warnings altho they had not been replaced after the massive accident it turned out to have been in, the list goes on.

Very angry that they put my children's lives at risk with their business practices and would advise you to look elsewhere.
