All 10 Apollo Roma column radiators have cracking enamel, especially around the top and bottom end bosses. In addition to this, some of the radiators are starting to weep / leak around where the bosses are attached to the radiators. They look great and are reasonably priced, but haven't lasted anywhere near as long as they should. Avoid this company as they will insist that it is an installation error and not their product / coating deficiency. It's not going to be cheaper in the long run if you have to replace them every 5-10 years.

Disappointingly, all 4 radiators I had installed by a qualified and experienced plumber 9 years ago have severe rust and paint flaking off. I’d question why a company who in 2015 gave 10 years guarantee now only give 5 years guarantee. This has been an expensive purchase!!

Apollo radiators provided excellent customer service and completed the work swiftly. They went over and above what they were obliged to do and were very helpful.

Avoid this company like the plague. Bought 3 Modena aluminium radiators last year for a job I was doing. Fitted one in a bathroom one in en suite and one in downstairs loo. After about 6 months the downstairs loo one the paint started to bubble and blister so I contacted Apollo who said send some pictures. I did this and this is their response
Radiator is fitted in a room with moisture and no ventilation and next to an open toilet. What’s an open toilet? Perhaps because the seat is up ? It’s ridiculous. After many emails back and forth I’m no further forward. They offer a 5 year guarantee but don’t honour it. Absolutely rubbish company.

After moving in this year we saw that two of the Roma radiators out of the 15 had brown stains from leaks and looked cracked at the top where the bleed valve is and at the bottom where the pipe connects in they are all wall mounted after some phone calls we found out all the radiators were purchased in December 2015 and that four since then had been replaced with similar problems when I contacted Apollo and sent pictures to them from the top and and full view of the locations they replied saying that the radiators were not aligned on the wall brackets and had to be central (we measured the brackets and they were 2-3 mm to the left or right which as the brackets show there is room for movement and expansion they also said that the copper paperwork in their brackets should be loose to facilitate expansion we checked all the brackets and all screw were not tight!! So we were sceptical and call ed the original plumber in to check and after looking at the installation instructions and checking he confirmed that all was fine and that if this was the case why had none of the 10 cracked like the rest .I took more photos and went back to Apollo and again they reiterated it was to do with incorrect installation and the warranty was only 5 years but ten if you brought via Trade Radiators.
I will put this down to a set of bad batch of radiators of which looking at the previous reviews confirms my suspicions Apollo standing on this has made me write this review and when I come to replacing anymore I will replace with more durable radiator the Roma may look good but it is not fit for purpose so I would advise anyone to steer clear I have lots of photographs of the cracked casing for future reviews and as for Apollo response would purchase elsewhere where they look after the customer and not belittle them

Had 2 rads of the magenta range, 18 months later into 5 Yr gaurentee radiator started leaking, rust showing, but guess what it was the fitters fault. They said there was no movement even though it was on flexi pipes. They then claimed it was bowed and that was my fault as well. Eventually got a replacement although they would never honour this again. Haha. Consumer rights etc. Whilst dealing with this they laughed down the phone and even just hung up. Quote from one bloke was that there is obviously a leak, but can't see where. Photos didn't help. Just dont deal with them. Shoddy and rude!!!

Aluminium radiators
We recently had 2 designer radiators installed. They make dreadful clicking noises like firecrackers going off when heating up and cooling down. According to Apollo this is because the heating pipes should not be constricted in any way, even by clips to hold the pipes. The radiator should also be fitted loosely to the wall so there is room for the radiator to move from side to side on the bracket. This has been an expensive mistake for us and we are replacing with traditional steel radiators that don't make noises elsewhere in our home.

Apollo Roma: rads looked fabulous for a few short years, then enamel started to crack and fall off around the four valves - same on all 8 Apollo Roma rads!! I contacted the manufacturer, who told me they were 'most likely' fitted incorrectly, and could offer no refund (out of warranty), or advise on how best to repair. Instead they offered a 20% discount if we bought replacements, but... when you've spent thousands on expensive rads, which (by the way), were fitted by different plumbers at different times (who came recommended by friends & local firms), I was a little offended at this offer. Therefore, can I strongly suggest you avoid these rads altogether, else be very careful how you fit them and keep watch! Personally, I'm sceptical about the cause. If indeed, they were fitted incorrectly (which has not been established), then the 'fragility' of these rads is a concern to us. We have several other (non-Apollo) rads, which are absolutely fine, so also consider that, when making your purchase... We certainly won't be buying any more Apollo Roma rads - with our without a discount.
