A warm welcome at Crick Marina
We were looking for a home mooring for our new narrowboat and decided to view Crick marina. We called without appointment and were immediately welcomed by Mark the marina manager who was very happy to spend time with us and gave us a guided tour.
We loved the marina and took a mooring. Mark and his other team members are very very friendly and always helpful. When calling at the office there's always a smile to greet you. The shower/laundry/toilet block is always kept very very clean and a pleasure to use. We have lovely neighbours too.
Both my wife and myself are very happy here.

We had a lovely stay at Royal Clarence Marina. Friendly helpful staff and mooring holders. Clean facilities ashore. Good place to go visiting from. Recommended.
Packetboat Marina
We have been residential at Packetboat Marina for 2 years. Diana and her team are very helpful and always go above and beyond.
This is our 5th visit and we have been…
This is our 5th visit and we have been at various times of the year. There are 2 separate areas here, one for hard standing near all facilities and the carousel area which is shaded by trees if you have dogs with you. The walk to Bath along the canal path is a real treat - it’s 1 1/2 miles and flat. The dog field is large and you can exercise them off the lead. Good clean facilities and always a must for the Christmas markets - team there are super helpful - thank you and see you in November
Gazumped after agreeing a price with the seller. Extra reply to Sawleys reply
I had agreed a price for a boat at Sawley Marina. There was an issue with sodden carpet in one are of the boat. This was being rectified and I was booked in to view the work done , and then finalise purchasing the boat. Two days later I received a phone call to say an offer higher than mine had been accepted. I find this very poor service by Sawley Marina. I hadn’t put a deposit down due to the issue being sorted. As said I arranged to go and check the work was satisfactory and pay the agreed price. But got gazumped. I guess commission talks.
Future buyers beware. Further to Sawleys reply. I was not informed if I did not leave a reply I could lose the boat. I was told to check the work out first, so booked a time to view and if happy proceed with the sale. Very poor service and what happened to a Gentleman’s agreement? As I said commission for Sawley took over. Having read previous replies from different marinas I’m not surprised.

from Keynsham Portavon Marina
Robin the Manager is an amazing person who has gone so far out of his way to help my partner and I with our boat/ mooring!
The positive changes he has implemented and future plans for both keynsham and bath marina is incredible and makes me so proud to be a part of this community.
If you’re ever in need of support , get in touch with Robin Vance !
First visit to Bath Marina was…
First visit to Bath Marina was brilliant. From the booking - when I called up as we were going to the Theatre and wanted to arrive earlier and then on our arrival we were welcomed by Fiona who gave us all the info we needed on the park and ride and walks nearby. Felt very welcomed and see you all next time. Thank you so much you made it so easy for us.
Returned once more and these folks are really trying to up their game, and it's working!
Returned to Bath Marina, as we have done for several years, and it is very clear that there has been some rethinking on customer service and site presentation. Well done. Fiona provided a warm welcome and was genuinely interested in us. The site itself is very clean and tidy and has clearly received some reinvestment.
Prior to my retirement, I trained many companies in customer care and retention. These folks have clearly listened, and the result is a really relaxing place to unwind. Thanks
Kings marina - newark
After being a resident for 7 years just a quick note to say how much the marina site has improved over the last 12 months, due to the new community spirt the garden team have done a great job on the whole site it’s a pleasure to be in
A review of living in Limehouse marina for 3 years
I owned an 80ft Dutch barge, based in Aquavista's Limehouse marina, from January 2020 - May 2023.
I wanted to share a few notes of reflection following my time as an Aquavista resident, so that anyone thinking of joining their mooring community has some additional and perhaps lesser known facts to consider before making a final purchase decision.
As a resident of the Aquavista Limehouse marina, some of the below notes are specific to that marina, though many of the notes are relevant to the organisation as a whole.
-----
- Mooring transfer fee: Upon buying your boat you are required to pay what's called a 'mooring transfer fee' which amounts to 7.5% of the total sale price. This is essentially an administrative fee, which won't be mentioned until you've sunk cost through your due diligence
- Sale on berth fee: Upon selling your boat you are also required to pay what's called a 'sale on berth fee' which amounts to 7.5% of the total sale price. Again this is an administrative fee, which won't be mentioned until you've completed a sale request form which quietly stipulates this condition in small print
- Mooring fee increases: Since Aquavista's acquisition by a Lloyd's hedge fund, residents have seen (and will continue to see) mooring fee increases which have forced residents out of the marina. These increases cannot legally be protected against, given the legal status and definition of boats in residential moorings
- Overfilling the marina: in a bid to increase revenue and continue the return on the Lloyd's hedge fund investment, Aquavista are maximizing opportunities to increase the number of boats across all marinas, often beyond the intended capacity limits of their customer supporting infrastructure
- Misapplication of funds: despite requests from residents across the marina for upgrades in specific areas (e.g. Wifi access on pontoons), funds are spent elsewhere
- Council tax payments: As a residential mooring owner, you are required to paying council tax - this was originally paid by Aquavista to the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) as a composite arrangement whereby the council tax is applied to the marina as a whole. This is now being reassigned back to the mooring owner as an additional cost
- Attitude of staff: Whilst i cannot speak to Aquavista employees across other marinas, the Limehouse marina employees have a perennial 'cannot-do' attitude and create a general culture of discontent and unease among residents
- Leadership incompetence: The marina manager Ethan tried to block the sale of my boat, owing to vague information from other members of staff which he misinterpreted, which put the sale of my boat at risk, followed by weeks of radio silence, only broken when I escalated to senior grades in Aquavista
- Monopoly on boat sale brokerage: Aquavista have now prohibited other boat brokerages (e.g. River Homes) from stepping foot on their marinas, in a bid to monopolize the buying and selling of boats in their marinas. This wouldn't be such an issue if the Limehouse salesman wasn't also lacking any foundational sales skills
-----
In summary, whilst some people may have had a good experience as an Aquavista resident, I did not. I've tried to be as factual and objective as possible in the above but what I will say, from a personal point of view, is that the total absence of customer experience, consideration and respect left me pretty bruised, financially and emotionally - all they really care about is their bottom line and the only asset they have to sweat to impact that is their customers. As a result I felt compelled to share these insights.
Thanks
Great experience at Kings marina
The staff were very friendly and helped to make our stay very enjoyable. The site is kept very clean as is the facilities. It is an easy walk to the town centre and shops. Plenty of very nice restaurants in town.
Would highly recommend it as a place to stay with your boat for a while.
Very good service both on arrival and…
Very good service both on arrival and departure. Nice people who helped us with information and training on locks and boats. The boats were nice, everything worked and the boat was clean and tidy when we took over. Professionals, we will use Black Prince Hollydays again.
Steer Clear of Aquavista
This should be 0* or even minus £40,000 stars because this horrible company may have lost me that amount of money in pursuit of their hedge fund ethos of maximum profits at the expense of human decency.
Avoid a residential mooring with Aggrovista- effectively you have no rights, no protection, a bogus appeal service and much aggression. They are polluting their marinas with floating houses thus destroying our marine heritage.
Excellent marina
From the moment I phoned Paula to request a temporary mooring to the moment I left the marina, Paula was extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. The marina is kept in beautiful condition and has a real community feel to it. If I wanted a permanent mooring this marina would be high on my list. Thank you Paula and team.
Kings Marina Newark is highly recommended
Kings Marina Newark was lovely. Paula the manager is so welcoming and the whole site is well kept with a very friendly atmosphere. The herb garden was my favourite element as so useful. However the flowers, pots, handing baskets, flower beds were beautiful too.
The facilities were also spotless clean. Oh and a great location close to the town and 3 supermarkets.
We will be back.
Kings marina newark
We spent 3nights at Kings marina Newark had such a good time ,staff were first class made us very welcome and looked after us all the members that moored their were so friendly great facilities ,would recommend it to all boaters
Great campervan site and excellent…
Great campervan site and excellent facilities, a warm welcome and would throughly recommend. A well stocked shop and vending machine as well. Very friendly and helpful service. My only suggestion is another washing machine, thanks.
Lovely well kept campsite
Lovely well kept campsite, a few minutes walk to the park and ride to Bath city centre, or a riverside walk (45min )or cycle. Spacious , level hard surface pitches and paths , so no problem with mud in rainy weather. Dog’s welcome and free. Exceptionally friendly (genuine )reception and going the extra mile to help.
Washrooms basic but clean and unmetered hot water. Major refurbishment planned for winter 2023.
Impressed with disabled shower room… spacious and with a chair which helps for undressing with recent spinal surgery.
Very good service
Very good service. Plenty of information sent before the trip followed by friendly reception staff and a helpful harbour master who explained how to skipper the narrow boat clearly with good visuals. The narrowboat’s decor and facilities were excellent.
Great experience!
We have been at Kings Marina in Newark for 15 years now, and it has been a lovely experience, especially since the new manager Paula took over. The gardens look amazing and there is a real community spirit.
We are leaving shortly to become landlubbers again, but we will miss Paula and all the staff and the friends we have made here
