I'll stick with Halfords next time

Based on my experience I'll stick with Halfords next time for bulbs:

1) One of the bulbs was just loose in a very thin jiffy bag
2) The loose bulb was supposed to be a Ring branded bulb, there was no packaging or branding to suggest it is, and it looks different to the picture on the Ring website
3) Paid £6 for next day delivery which is via Parcelforce. They threw the parcel down the drive, then squeezed it through the letterbox, I understand this is out of control of ABD but if you packaged the items better it would be less of an issue. There are also perhaps better couriers available for that price.

Thank you for your review and I'm very sorry to hear you are not happy with your order.

The Ring bulb you ordered is supplied in trade boxes of 10 to us. We offer these to our customers in singles so as you purchased only 1 bulb, it needed to be removed from the trade box and sent without outer packaging or branding. However, we can 100% guarantee it is a Ring bulb exactly as ordered.

Now, the fact it was loose in a jiffy bag is absolutely not satisfactory. Any loose bulbs are supposed to be placed in extra packaging and the order should be sent in a box, not a jiffy bag. We only use jiffy bags where the product itself, or the product packaging is sufficient to be sent that way. I have passed this onto the warehouse manager to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Regarding Parcel Force, we will report this back to them as that is not how parcels should be delivered. Unfortunately we have previously used DPD, DHL, Fedex, DX...pretty much all of them, and none of them are 100%. We do find Parcel Force as a whole are very good and we get very few issues at all. However, as with all couriers, there are isolated instances where delivery isn't perfect and all we can do is feed that back to them.

Poor advertisements and a further delay to our car being fixed.

Ordered a high pressure fuel pump from ABD and the experience has been incredibly disappointing.

The product listing clearly shows images of the pump with a seal kit included — including a dedicated image showing just the seal kit itself. Nowhere on the listing does it clearly state that the product is for the pump only. Naturally, we expected to receive what was being advertised in the images.

When my partner called to query why the seal kit was missing, customer service immediately became defensive instead of trying to understand the issue. He explained that the listing is misleading because the seal kit is heavily featured in the product photos, but the response was basically “the description only says pump.” That completely ignores the fact that product imagery is part of the advertisement and heavily influences purchasing decisions.

To make matters worse, the customer service representative constantly spoke over him, became increasingly irate throughout the call, and then offered a “25% discount” — which turns out to be the same discount already available to all customers anyway, so it didn’t feel like any genuine attempt to resolve the issue.

Overall, very poor communication, misleading product presentation, and disappointing customer service. We won’t be ordering from ABD again.

As sold unfit for purpose as was ABD Customer Service

I bought a Summit roof bar system for my Hyundai i-20. The reason I bought this product to be honest was it was cheaper than its rivals. This was a mistake the rival product I looked at (Thule Hyundai i-20) has a gasket that goes under the block clamped to the fixed points ensuring a water tight fitting. However the ABD Summit roof bar system sold to me only relies on a hard plastic block to roof to effect a seal (the rubber boot effectively being cosmetic and not forming a proper seal.. Most engineers will tell you this will leak as all washers have to have a degree of flexibility. I pointed this out to customer services who played hard ball over photos which I did send and there stance was the manufacturer could have advised if i had sent photos earlier. Any such advise would be extraneous to the instructions sold with the product and without a purpose made gasket or washer very likely to leak. I solved the problem my self no thanks to ABD by making my own neoprene washers. The rubber bellows (as anyone can verify by asking AI on Google do Summit roof bar bellows leak) are often a cause of leaks on an uneven roof which means where the strip with the fixed points is slightly below the roofline (which is common). So relying on the rubber bellows without a gasket is often going to cause issues. On my car the bellows did not sit down properly and therefore it is common sense this is often happening. Terrible roof bar system and terrible customer service.

We're very sorry to hear you have had issues with your roof bars. When you first contacted us, we requested images so we could identify the issue and help provide a fix as soon as possible.

You decided not to supply the images, which is entirely your choice of course, and instead chose to find a solution yourself. This is absolutely fine, but does mean we were unable to help further without the requested images.

Following further communication you did then provide some photos which was much appreciated. We were then able to check with Summit's technical team and they confirmed that the bars had not been fitted correctly as per the instructions. You had failed to fit the rubber boots which would've completed the install and prevented any leaks.

For information, Summit roof bars are Auto Express award winning roof bars that are sold in their 1000s. We have not had any reported issues of leaks when fitted correctly as per the instructions.

We are truly sorry that your purchase experience has not gone as expected, but we will of course continue to assist as best as we can.

We don't believe this is a genuine review as we NEVER charge 2x shipping. That is not a thing. Our shipping charges are detailed clearly on our shipping information page, and throughout the checkout process.

We have requested more information from the reviewer but this has not be provided. Therefore we do not believe this is a genuine customer review.

Unfortunately Trustpilot do not properly investigate reviews like this so we are stuck with it on our profile. Another reason why Trustpilot ratings are to be taken with a pinch of salt!

Like the previous 1 star review we received, we will always hold our hands up, apologise and rectify the situation when we have made a mistake. But outright misinformation like this review should be removed.

Absolutely awful place

Absolutely awful place. Avoid that at all costs. I ordered parts for about 500£with discount was 360£, when arrive at my home it was missing like a half parts which was on picture. When contacted with their customer service(another amazing part of their shop) Lady told me that this photo is by their mistake and set I was needed is for 700. And if I want that I had to pay difference( their give 30£ discount. I paid that and ordered. Order is 3-5 working days. 9 days later I was still told that my parts are on the way. I’ll asked for refund and never wanna get anything by this shop. Places like that should be closed permanently

We are very sorry for the experience you have had with your order. We did have an incorrect image on our website which we can only apologise for.

The product you needed was unfortunately more expensive but as you mentioned, we did give you an additional discount as a goodwill gesture as the error was on our side.

That particular product was not held in stock so we had to order it in for you from the supplier. This is normally 3-5 working days to arrive with us. Unfortunately it took 6 working days due to a small delay in the shipment which was out of our control. As you did not want to wait the extra day, you requested a refund instead which we actioned for you immediately.

We did also contact you on the 6th working day when the item did arrive with us just in case it was still something you wanted to have, but you advised you no longer required it.

We fully accept this error was due to the incorrect image on our website and we are sorry for the inconvenience caused. We did offer extra discounts, sourced the correct parts as soon as we could and issued a refund as soon as you requested.

We are sorry that our efforts were not sufficient to resolve the situation for you and we will take your feedback onboard to see how we can improve in future.

No comeback on faulty item

ABD.co.uk has refused to pay for return postage of faulty goods and provide a full refund. I bought a set of Summit roof bars and locks for the bars on 11 November 2025, which are supposed to be compatible with my Mercedes Benz car. These items were delivered on the 17 November, but the locks came without any keys in a crumpled-up box held together with cello tape. I informed ABD and they promptly sent me another set with keys. When I installed the bars, I could not fix the side covers and the locks, which had to go in the side covers. Furthermore, the installation guide gave no information on how to install the locks. When I drove the car the bars made a wailing noise, starting at about 20mph and increasing in pitch with speed, despite having fixed the plastic inserts.

I told ABD about all the issues and sent them all the information they asked for so they could send that on to Summit the manufacturer. The only advice received was that the roof bars were compatible with my car and were not faulty. They implied that I did not fix the bars properly and sent me a diagram of the configuration for my model of car that I had already followed in detail.

They continued to ignore the fact that I could not fix parts to the bars. The Summit technical team said fixing those could be a hard push! So, my fault again. I am no weakling, but the parts just would not engage. I responded to ABD saying I will try more force but if the screw head or any part of the mechanism was damaged as a result, or if it fell off when I was driving, or I could not disengage it to remove the bars then they would be liable for any replacement. I did not receive a response for over 2 weeks.

When I phoned them to get an update ABD said they will go back to Summit (again). After 2 months my patience has worn thin, and I have given ABD every opportunity to resolve the situation. It seems they have a different perception of what constitutes a faulty product and are not taking any responsibility as the retailer.

I certainly would not recommend ABD to potential customers as they try to dodge their obligations. I had ordered the items based on customer reviews even though I could have bought those cheaper elsewhere.

Consistently good.

Ordered 1st January but the bulbs arrived a few days later, always prompt getting orders out.
Odd times had problems with out of stock but on the whole they are top class.
