We received a large number of intrusive emails within just two days of creating our profile. Many came from complete strangers who were very insistent about wanting to be our “friends” or offering their services. Some even sent reminders when we had not replied within two days.
The information provided also does not seem particularly reliable. Most profiles contain essentially the same standardized information, with seemingly everyone holding a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the field—which is quite surprising in such a small city. This makes it difficult to know how much of the information can actually be trusted.
In the end, none of the 16 offers we received for now, none came from someone with a driving licence. This makes the matching process seem poorly adapted to practical realities, particularly when distance and transportation are important factors.
We also feel a bit foolish for having shared so much private information about our family and our lives, especially given the quality and relevance of the matches we received.
Overall, the whole experience feels more like an Amazon-style marketplace than a service designed to help families find the right person. It gives the uncomfortable impression that children are being treated as commodities alongside other products, rather than as individuals whose needs and safety and should be at the centre of the process.
