4-5 day turnaround for bike service - what a joke!
I booked my bike in for a routine service, dropping it off in-store in the appointed time slot. Two days later they hadn't even looked at the bike and it turns out that they don't start work on your bike until 3 or 4 days after they receive it. If you need your bike for travel during that time then tough! I took my bike away again unserviced. Very disappointed indeed and I will not waste my time with these people again.

Hi Rachel,
I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the timeframe for your repair. Having spoken to my team I can see you dropped the bike off on Monday where we let you know it would be a 3-4 day turnaround. We then sent you a quote and spoke to you on Tuesday and had the bike lined up to be done for Wednesday morning. As we run a drop off service a 3 day turnaround is often expected especially for an Electric folding bike general service.
We do understand that you need the bike for travel and can only sympathise, being without your bike is difficult. Hopefully you get your bike sorted and if you need we are always happy to get your bike serviced.

They tried to rip me off...
I specifically asked for 2 things to be done to the bike - both of which I could do myself were it not for the fact that I didn't have the specific tool required. I agreed the price with the guy at the desk and left it with him.
As with many technical jobs, the workshop guys took in the bike and immediately assessed everything (not just what I asked for). They then rang me to tell me that there was x,y & z wrong with the bike, trying to rip me off by saying that they couldn't possibly do the job I requested without new chain, new brake pads, new cassette etc. ( I would have to pay about 3x the price for all of this, some of which I had replaced not one month ago, so I knew was perfectly fine)
Classic case of trying to trick somebody they assumed knew nothing about bike maintenance into paying for things they didn't need. Such a shame.
I suggest that next time somebody brings in a bike and tells you explicitly what they need fixing, just do as they've asked. Perhaps make a note of any other issues you find and let them know that you could fix it if they'd like. Don't try and force them into paying extra for it. I had to say "Can you do the job I have requested, or do I need to collect the bike and take it to a different shop?" in order to get them to stop trying to twist my arm into buying other things.
Remember that the cycling community is not always rich - if I could afford to fix everything I'd probably buy a new bike! Look after the little guys just getting into cycling & make it a great customer experience...it's not hard! @Balfe presumably started the company to help people fix bikes - not rip them off!

Thank very much for your feedback.
I have spoken to the mechanic who quoted your bike and he has given me the rundown of what your bike needed to be safe on the road and perhaps a few suggested upgrades that your bike would most certainly have benefited from if you are riding frequently. The mechanic usually discusses this when the bike is dropped so apologises that on this occurrence this did not happen. This would of solved the unexpected reply of a higher quote than expected.
We would like to invite you back to the store if you would like to go through this in further detail.
