My partner and I have trusted the Solihull branch with our three children.
When our eldest was there and up to approximately one year ago it was the only place we would have ever put our children, but since then it has become a far cry from the welcoming and caring place ot once was.
1. Management are unresponsive with concerns
2. The few times they do respond, promises are made for improvements but never kept.
3. Staff depart like it's part of their job description. Over five long standing members of staff have left.
4. Children are kept in unsafe conditions during heatwaves. Air conditioning units were purchased in May but no effort was made to ensure exhaust vents were appropriately sized for the rooms, making them unusable. One month later the issue has not yet been rectified. Longer hoses are readily available at local hardware stores and online retailers. Any tradesperson would also be able to provide and fit as necessary.
Staff are also not trained/instructed on how to operate the units, attempting to make place them in a safe temporary place where the vent could reach but leaving all windows open so only the immediate vicinity of the air conditioning units is kept cool.
5. Little effort is made to ensure screening of staff is adequate.
The ever increasing number of agency staff makes it hard to keep up with who is caring for the children at what time. This also results in inconsistent training of staff.
One child fell and scraped their knees but this wasn't noticed until pick up (by the parents) at which point the memeber of staff attempted to blame the child for not telling them. When the child got home and had to take off their stocking, the scabbing had set through the fabric and had to be peeled off with the clothes reopening the wound.
Another child was fully stripped and dressed in different clothing but no member of staff had any knowledge of why or what had happened at pick up. It wasn't until the next evening that the reason was communicated.
I don't think I need to mention the history of abuse at other branches to emphasise why this is extremely concerning. When a meeting with management was requested and concerns were raised, no effort was made by the management to even acknowledge the issue, let alone offer time for a meeting.
6. Head office ignores months of concerns raised.
Multiple parents have raised their concerns to for multiple months and no meaningful change has taken place.
One particularly chatty/insistent/frustrating parent has been contacting head office weekly. At first I thought they were obnoxious. Now I think they were right all along.

We attend the Boughton lane Bright Horizon. Staff are absolutely fantastic - responsive to feedback, creative, culturally sensitive, work well as a team to offer seamless care. I've seen my daughter flourish in so many areas and they always have such a great range of activities. Whenever I have struggled with a milestone at home they offer suggestions on how to reinforce learning in the classroom.

Bright horizons Chilworth is a fantastic setting with kind and dedicated staff who put a huge amount of care and thought into all of the activities they do with the children. Both my children have really thrived at this nursery.

We cannot praise Bright Horizons Calland highly enough. From the moment we chose this nursery, we knew we were putting our trust in them with the most precious things in our lives – our children – and they have honoured that trust in every possible way.
The facilities are excellent, warm, and well thought out, but what truly sets this nursery apart is the people. Every member of staff is incredibly dedicated, passionate, and genuinely caring. They create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to grow. It really does feel like a second family for our children, and that means everything to us as parents.
We’re equally impressed by the team behind the scenes, especially the kitchen staff. The effort they put into providing healthy, varied meals is remarkable, and it’s wonderful to see our children being inspired to eat well and try new foods. Tony the chef has become a real favourite – it’s clear he puts just as much care into the children’s experience as anyone else.
Bright Horizons Calland is a truly special place, and we would recommend it wholeheartedly to any family looking for exceptional childcare.

Sending my daughter was the best decision. She has learned so much and the teachers are incredible. The facility is top notch with hygiene and cleanliness

We love BH! It's in a great location for us a family. Our little one has the best time. The staff are so attentive and patient. Updates are available on an app, so you can "check in" as little and as often as you want.

My son will be graduating this year after an amazing 3 years.
This setting has helped my son develop grow confidence and shine.
I could not rate them high enough every single staff member throughout has been brilliant with my son and myself.
They can never do enough. They are responsive helpful thoughtful and always have the children’s best interest at heart.
My son did not take well to going to nursery but as hard as that was for me the staff made me feel so safe and trusting of them. I highly highly recommend to anyone.

I have nothing but positive things to say about bright horizons New Eltham. I’ve sent both my children here and they’ve both enjoyed it have had great experiences there. The wonderful staff so clearly care about the children. The children are always doing something fun and different and communication is great. Food is varied and healthy. Facilities are fantastic. Would absolutely recommend!

My son has been at this nursery for 3 years and we have had a wonderful experience - we will miss the nursery very much when he goes to school in September.

It is a warm, friendly and nurturing place with fantastic staff who really care & get to know the children as individuals. My son has developed in all areas since being at this nursery and I have no hesitation in recommending it highly.

My little one goes to bh in warrington and the staff are friendly, helpful and absolutely brilliant with my little one shes been there since her 1st birthday she is now 3 and loves it the girls are always available to talk to if you have any issues, if shes had an accident they tell me and fill a accident form out for me to sign, they gave me advice on potty training, they tell how well or if she has been naughty they are very considerate to her feelings as she developes i can't praise the girls enough for what they do for the kids, so glad I chose this nursery for her. I get updates on what shes been doing and pictures on the app I can see what shes had to eat and when shes been the toilet and the activities they do with the kids

Our daughter goes here (Andover hub) she about to finish and head to BIg School. I can not praise this setting enough.
Our daughter had speech delay and they have given her so much support and encouragement to gain in her milestones.
She is a completely different child from the 1st day to now. We will truly miss the staff, who are absolutely brilliant and the setting that has helped her thrive and be ready for her next journey.

Overall we love our bright horizons. Good attitude, sharing daily how the sleep and eating went. Great programmes and food menus. Helpful staff. We never had any issues. The only thing is that we had some staff our baby loved and sadly they left. Turn over was a bit higher than expected, so I only can hope they get paid enough. Still overall 5 stars!

My daughter has been attending Bright Horizons Weybridge since April, and I am extremely happy with the care she receives. She absolutely loves it there.
It took me a long time to find a nursery that I felt was right for her. I viewed many nurseries, and this was the only one I truly wanted her to attend.
I was very nervous about sending her to nursery at first, but the staff made me feel comfortable and reassured from the beginning. My daughter loves all the staff members and speaks about them so nicely, she even calls them her friends.
She has learned so much since starting there, and it’s lovely to see how happy and settled she is. I’m so pleased that this was the nursery I chose for her and would highly recommend it to other parents.

Love our nursery and the staff so much. It really feels like a family, and I feel so confident dropping my kids off, knowing they’re safe and that they’re going to have lots of fun.

Our daughter attend bright horizons Purley and I'm consistently impressed with the real care and imagination of the staff. They've helped her develop in confidence and she loves going to nursery and is very close to her key worker. The environment is clean safe and she has multiple balanced meals and snacks everyday with tea at around 4. They send so many updates which add a lot of comfort and joy. They're always outside which she loves and there's so many actives for her to explore always.

Amazing nursery, friendly colleagues they are really passionate about the children & their developmental needs. I find the App a great tool to use for many reasons update on daily activities & food my children eat, plus I can add things my children do at home & they always get acknowledged. I will highly recommend this nursery. My three year old started at 9 months old & loves coming to nursery/pre-school

My daughter has been at Bright Horizons Callands for about 8 months and she loves every minute of it. The team provide a wide range of fun and educational activities each day, keeping the children happy and engaged. The staff are fantastic—kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. As a parent, it's so reassuring to know my daughter is in such good hands. Returning to work was much easier thanks to the confidence and support Bright Horizons has given us. Highly recommend!

I wanted to wait until we completed 6 months but im extremely happy and satisfied with the nursery so far its been 4 months and i feel more and more confident everyday leaving my little one in their care and they cares specially key person for my kid has been amazing i really think i couldnt ask for someone better yo take care of him
