I was really happy to get this, fast service, too!

I was strongly encouraged(almost forced) by my franchise to utilize Buildzoom to find a GC for my small business project I was starting in 2023. Every time I was on a call with a BuildZoom representative I was invoiced for $1000. Yes, I said $1000, including the "the initial consultation call". I ended spending a little over $5K when I already informed my franchisor and BuildZoom that I have a vetted GC that I have been meeting with for months. BuildZoom told me I could put my GC through the process as well. Which didn't make sense considering I already vetted my GC and the service that was pitched to me is that BZ helps find GCs in my area(Maryland).

After being underhandly pushed into using BZ I ended up with a contractor that clearly was not vetted by them. Because months later I found out the contractor I met through them was a crook. The contractor ran off with over $140K of my money and I know two other business owners that used BZ and found the same contractor. When I spoke with BZ about this I was connected to the "President" of BZ and was told they are not responsible for the actions of the contractor. I asked if I could get my $5K back that I paid for the service that BZ did not deliver and was told, flat out "No". They did send an email stating they were sorry for my unfortunate loss but I have had no recourse for the actions of the contractor nor BZ.

This company uses aggressive sales tactics to lure you in and then quickly moves through your project so they can invoice you. I have never felt more violated or dismissed by a business. If you choose to use BZ to help vet a GC for your project make sure you do your due diligence. Make sure the contractor doesn't already have pending suits/judgements, doesn't have multiple business names, and hasn't filed for bankruptcy multiple times to avoid paying back any stolen money. Even after I made my claim with BZ they said they would take the contractor out of their program only to find the GC company was still sending in bids for more project several months after my claim. There was no real work done on BuildZooms part but I paid the price for their mediocre service. I am still trying to recover my funds from this contractor. Please beware of BuildZooms tactics, practices, and services.

You say you have permit history for consumers to view, but the permit search gets you nowhere. Useless.

This platform is a massive scam that uses unverified AI automation to scrape data and invent arbitrary ratings for businesses. They do not perform any manual verification, personal checking, or quality control. As a result, the profiles they generate are full of inaccurate data, outdated details, and completely fabricated ratings. This is highly damaging to legitimate businesses who have their reputations misrepresented without consent, and it actively deceives consumers who trust these baseless scores. This platform prioritizes mass-automated traffic over truth and ethics. Avoid using or trusting anything listed on this site.

Buildzoom has been very helpful in signing contractors. It's been a great experience with every contractors, the job was done on time.

I wish you and other platforms were able to share information especially reviews or testimonials on other businesses to other websites.

This is the kind on nonsense that drives me crazy as a contractor. I tried to sign up as a handyman, since that is the only catagory somewhat matching the services we peform. Well, it wants me to show permits! I don't need any permitting for the type of work we perform. I don't need a permit to replace rotten siding. I don't need a permit to replace a toilet. I don't need a permit to replace a ceiling fan. I don't need a permit to install an undersink water filter. I don't need a permit to pressure wash a driveway!! I'm also not required to be licensed in our state. I've been in business since 2006 and conduct business in Georgia, Arkansas and Texas. I have never needed to be licensed. I am a registered business with the state and carry full liability insurance. The issue I have is that there is no way around this! You can't email nor call them. You can only TRY to find an answer on their Q&A page! I don't trust anyone or any company that you can't reach if you have a concern or issue. Appears to be worse than Angi, which was involved in a class action law suit for fake leads, which is why we stopped using Angi/HomeAdvisor as a lead source. I'm not saying this is what this company does, I'm just saying to me, it raises a lot of red flags when it's 100% online business that you are providing your banking information to, and you can't talk to a real, live person.

I hired United Realty Repair to manage our rentals in Boise Idaho and they are so great to work with!

Extremely disappointed with this service. We did not get one project from any lead we pursued. 95% of the time, we never heard back from anyone we called and emailed. Several times, the GC didn't even know how we got their info, the project was incorrect, one was a year old, and often times we had the wrong number. When I signed up a explained to our rep that I wanted to try it for 3 months. We agreed to this verbally, but he stated I didn't request the cancellation in ample time. Complete waste of time and money!

In order to post a review for a different business I have to post a review here. If you own a business and someone wrote a frivolous review there is NO RECOURSE.
These kind of websites take advantage of small business owners.

I am writing to formally address a dispute regarding the charges and the current status of our profile on your platform.

While we initially appreciated the profile and the content provided, we are concerned about being charged for leads that we never requested. We have previously reached out via email and other contact methods to resolve this issue, but we have not yet seen a satisfactory response or resolution.

Furthermore, it has come to our attention that our profile now includes a notice stating that we have not paid. To clarify, we have not processed these payments because the leads were unsolicited. As a busy company, we have not responded to these requests as we are not currently seeking additional jobs.

We find it unfair to be charged for services we did not authorize, and we request that you remove the non-payment notice from our profile and cancel any outstanding charges for these unrequested leads.

This platform is good, but you need to improve further and be more active in accepting customer reviews and fixing website errors. However, overall, it is easy to use and submit the project.

After waiting over a month for my review to be posted, I gave up.
My queries were not answered.

I requested the service to get Contractor bits and at first I seem very quick at wanting to work however, once payment was received the after payment follow up has been none. Several emails were sent. Messages were left. No one response.

Professional on time and clean Job. I will hire them again.

My experience with BuildZoom was extremely frustrating, mainly because of the platform itself. The user interface feels outdated, cluttered, and not intuitive at all. It’s difficult to navigate, and simple actions like updating project details or tracking progress take way more time than they should. The layout makes it hard to find important information, and overall it doesn’t feel user-friendly.

On top of that, the customer support was disappointing. Responses were slow, generic, and didn’t really address the issues I was facing. It felt like I was getting copy-paste answers instead of real assistance. When you’re dealing with construction planning, you need clarity and responsiveness — and unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience here.

Overall, the platform needs serious improvements in usability and customer support. I expected a much smoother and more professional experience.

This crew went above and beyond to make sure that everything was done right and that I understood every detail that was going to take place. This crew deservers 1000 gold stars for some the best customer I have seen in a long time.
Keep up the excellent service and when I need more work done I hope that other crews take a page from this crews play book and give the same top notch service to myself and or other clients

Easy to use, found our contractor for kitchen remodel through them
