Skegness 70s weekend
Skegness 70s weekend. Really good weekend. Great staff, good band line up, good all round effort to entertain guests. Inclusive food was okay and plentiful, accommodation was fine. All bans were good, some were first class but unfortunately all let down by the music desk controllers! Consistently pushed volume through the limit and distorted mics and speakers. Totally unnecessary; loud, clear music is easy to attain, and everyone beniftis. If I were The Glitterband or Bay City Rollers, I'd be mortified at what the Desk Jockies had done; complaints from thousand of guests. Great effort from most Butlins staff, marred by a few idiots. Butlins management should not ignore this comment.
Poor sales tactics
Haven't even managed to get there yet, but felt obliged to point out how misleading their offers are. Tried to book on line with a discount code that the system wouldn't recognise. Phoned and was told that they would not apply a discount code despite the ad ert clearly saying it applied. Then tried to sell me extras instead! Very dissapointing sales tactics.
In dire need of a refurb
We've been Butlins twice now but the last visit was quite shocking. There is much fun to be had out and about the accomodations are desperately in need of a major overhaul, I would go as far to say it was dangerous. On arrival it was the last day of stormy weather, you would want to close all the windows and yet we couldnt, the kitchen window could not close and thus lots of stormy wind/rain had to come in over night. The handy men said someone put on the wrong frame hence it couldnt close. I also found a nailhead sticking quite a bit far out near the cooker, very dangerous, I had them remove it. There was lots of large bird poo on the windows and asked them about it. The windows were suppose to have a slipoff coating but no one has attended them in a very long time it seems. To make things worse, later I noticed mushroom mold growing between the doubleglazed windows in the main room. A lot of the windows were in a poor state. Clearly someone is pocking all the cash from people visiting but no one is putting it back into the accomodation, I've taken loads of pictures but I cannot seem to submit them on this review. Their swimming center is absolutely brilliant but for another year in a row the return belt for the inflatable rides is out of order... "To be fixed soon" of course.

Minehead Feb 2026
Minehead Feb 2026 - The drinks package is misleading we asked for spirits without mixers as the mixers were the very bad tasting draft version, amazingly we were told this was against their licence, nothing in their T&C’s to reflect this! Just made our experience poor, then to top it all another bar on the complex served us with spirits with no mixer?? Staff and mangers were very abrupt and closed any conversation down. Butlin’s a definite no if you are a reasonable person just wanting a quiet drink at your pleasure

I 😊 have had great time, lovely food and lots to do and enjoy life with a beautiful holiday here at butlins.I want to come here again and hope there will not be so much traffic at the entrance next time. I love Butlins ❤️. I LOVED 😍 the Max Pro Wrestling .I would definitely come here for my holiday again. Butlins is super cool. Little Miss Mit loved the trampolining. The drinks and food was good 😀👍 Bowling was so good
Filthy, Disgusting Accommodation
I want to warn everyone about how awful our experience of Butlins Skegness has been. The accommodation was absolutely disgusting and a health risk. We were greeted by hairs on the sink and in the shower, dirty sink, a layer of dust and dirt along all skirting boards, rotting door and window frames with paint peeling off, something gross spilt down the wall and on the carpet, thick white substance on curtains and spillage marks and dirt on all the walls, carpet and sofas, including someone writing their name on the wall! We called guest services to complain, said they would send someone. 40 minutes later my husband calls again and complains, they say they'll send someone. We had a show booked so we had to take our children out for dinner and to attend the show. When we returned later they had cleaned the shower and sinks and actuality bothered to hoover the carpet. The big carpet stain was left, same for the skirting board dirt. Sadly the sofas and carpets needed a deep clean which I guess they couldn't do. We used spare duvets to cover the sofas. It then got worse as my son turned the shower the wrong way and got burnt due to the temperature controls not being limited, we then found the most disgusting blood, urine and who knows what else on the mattress protector on my sons bed. We left a day early as couldn't put up with living in the filth any longer. Save your money and go elsewhere we will never return. It is worse than you can imagine.

Booked butlins bognor because my daughters had great memories omg what a difference wanted my grandkids to have great memories too we Booked for my granddaughter 8th birthday on the 9 Feb 26 was staying until the 13th Feb 26 my granddaughter birthday was on the 12 Feb we went home after breakfast on the 11th Feb we arrived to be told we at to collect our cards from a pop up counter to be told they couldn't find us then after 15 minutes they found us and told us to some where else it was pouring with rain kids were excited but thirsty and hungry after the 3 hour train journey 2 big cases was told our accommodation was by the dogems so off we go again took us a hour to find our accommodation we arrive at the steps to go up to the accommodation there were sheets bedding over the green cleaners were cleaning some rooms still my daughter slipped on the wet steps we get in room tired wet we thought we will let kids play their tablets why we have sort out who sleeps where wifi didn't work we could not connect to it we had WiFi on our phones then so was not a big problem my daughter said mum there's dirty tissues in the wardrobe with hairs in it don't touch we never un packed our cases their was dirty tissues behind bedroom door too we go and try to find where we were Booked to eat no welcome pack telling us we asked someone they said ohhh we think it that way we aint eating here been a few cases of food poisoning great i thought the boy asked my name and let us eat there very noisy smelly sticky i payed extra for premium package that definitely never looked like premium a few of the fair ground rides wasn't open one the kids couldn't go on their height was to small the swing ride only just to small my grandson cried his eyes out that's not butlins fault we didn't have a clue where the entertainment was or anything else there was no one to ask didn't see any red coats we decided to go back to room shattered wet and not very happy WiFi still wasn't working we used our wifi my daughter said her pillows were wet i was half asleep the little ones said toilet wasn't flushing. in night i moved my pillow it was soaking wet looked it was condensation running down windows on to wall then on to pillows the bed felt damp i thought we'll my clothes did im not one to moan about anything how wifi got used up butlins wifi wasn't working still my grandson kept crying he couldn't play his game then my granddaughter did it was so stressful i didn't know who to turn too we missed breakfast time we got out we went swimming for a few hours we enjoyed still pouring down freezing cold still too early for dinner went back to room to more crying 😢 because still no butlins wifi we found our right dinning room to eat was better than the other one before we went for dinner i let my granddaughter open some of her presents i felt sorry for her and grandson we had dinner and thought we would try and find the entertainment and maybe chat with someone about our room entertainment we found too young for our little ones more for babies and toddlers what else was there to do my granddaughter wanted to go for a walk which me and her did in.the dark we went back to room grandson and daughter was stressed out me other daughter was on balcony trying to get wifi was so stressful I even tried to get on the butlins chat no one spoke with me was too busy there was no one to talk to customer service is crap we decided we would go home the next day the kids wanted to which made it so hard and more stressful for my daughter she had no party plans for granddaughter birthday because we were suppose to be celebrating it at butlins on way out of butlins there was a huge rat the size of a cat dead on green by hotel what a disaster and a waste of money I don't have £394. For holiday £73 train fare there and £90 going home for all of two days I contacted butlins and they really are not helpful at all saying I should have said something while we were there who could we talk to there was no one too talk to holiday was rained because butlins dosent keep up to their standards they say they have been cleanliness omg dirty tissues no toilet flush and wet bedding dirty curtains under bed was a aldi bag with a pair of dirty socks in it the rooms are not clearly being cleaned properly butlins take ur money but don't give u anything back what has happened to good old butlins
SAVE YOUR MONEY AND AVOID
Went to Butlins with daughter for Christmas break, food was disgusting in hotel didn't eat there again after falling ill, then pavilion had black mould all over verry poorly cleaned there was an infestation of pigeons and dropping everywhere. Electrical cupboards with danger 450v left open with children around, Butlin’s refused to admit that they did anything wrong so no taking them to court.
Couple of nice days at Butlins Minehead
Just had a couple of days at Butlins Minehead. We stayed in Plantation Quay ST105. The buildings there are a little bit tired but we had a great time. Didn’t see much of the entertainment as it’s mostly for the kids and we didn’t eat in any of the site restaurants or facilities. The holiday didn’t cost much so I’ve taken that into consideration. There’s a lot of work currently going on there with some of the blocks getting refurbished but there’s loads of stuff to do. The big shows in Studio 36 are usually good.

Do not stay at this run down resort, no matter how cheap the deal is.
We drove over 100 miles on the first week of February 2026 and were not expecting what we found. When we entered the accommodation followed by the head of house keeping”for some reason unknown”.
The smell hit me, the carpets were dirty and not vacuumed, settee old dirty stains. Cooker top dirty and rusty. The bathroom had suspect white stains on floor, toilet full of years of lime scale build up. The worst to come. We inspected our main bedroom sheets while the house keeper witnessed it. I pulled the duvet from the bottom and my wife pull the sheets to one side.
We then looked in horror at the sight of a massive patch of “blood stained” sheets that house keeping tried to cover up. I suffer from ocd and anxiety and I had to leave the room immediately due to this bringing on an anxiety attack. Upon leaving we saw red blood like stains on the walls near the front door. We complained to guest services”who only speak to you over the phone and was offered another room in the same run down block. I refused and said you would have to give me the best accommodation and compensation to even consider staying. She said no you only get “like for like, ie what you pay for.
We are a low income couple and the break was only £40 but they refused a refund, even after contacting head office, they refused too. We then had another long drive home in the dark after only being in the resort for half an hour.
Badly organised and dirty.
Went for an adults music weekend and the organisation was poor. Considering they do these weekends regular you would expect better. Long queues at the bar as not enough staff. Queuing to get in to the venues to get a seat as 2 friends I was with are registered disabled and then people stood in front and on the stairs so you couldn't see the bands. No security to deal with situations like this. The accommodation was dirty. Had a childs clothes and toys under the bed so the room hadn't been cleaned properly. Broken door stop in the bathroom leaving sharp metal which someone could of cut their foot on.
Was quick to send out email about my experience but when I wrote what I thought I haven't heard anything back which shows they don't really care.
Lack of food, services and staff
This is our second visit to Butlins Bognor, first time was great but this time was awful. On two evenings, food was limited so kids ate bread rolls only as food was not replenished. Slides not in use after queuing for an hour. Lack of staff and no one on site to complaint too. When I complained, I was told I didn't complain correctly i.e. spend hours in a queue waiting to be spoken to and they have since ignored my formal complaint since December. Will NEVER spend my hard earned money again! Ruined our daughter's birthday (we went to celebrate there) and have been ignored ever since! Absymal service.
Customers don't matter anymore
I have been going to Butlins for over 30yrs, as a family and now to the adult weekends. I always held Butlins as a company in high regard mainly for the way they treated their customers and value for money. Yes the food and drinks weren't exactly wetherspoons prices but they weren't extaughinate either. I also found they always did their best to resolve any customer queries or complaints. You felt valued as a customer but now everything is no or involves a charge. It breaks my heart to see how far Butlins has strayed from the way it used to be. All Butlins seems interested in rinsing their customers of every penny they have! You used to be able to make a request on your booking to be in a certain area. Now they charge you for the privilege. One pint and 2 mixers, not doubles, over £20 a round. And as for valuing their customers, we booked the bottomless bruch in advance for our break. One of our party dropped out a week before and seeing as we were able to advise Butlins in advance for them to alter the amount of food and drink they would have on the day I thought it wouldn't be a problem getting the money back for that one place. Alternatively if Butlins did not want to issue a refund then they could give us a voucher to use onsite and we could to give the money back to our friend. This way Butlins wouldn't be loosing anything so win win, completely reasonable request and they do vouchers as I've had them before but NO. I felt sorry for the girl on the phone as she agreed with what I was saying but when she checked with her manager the answer was no. The manager didn't even have the guts to tell me this themselves and told the call handler to do it. No accountability. Absolutely disgusting! This was not the way it used to be. Ive always been an advocate for Butlins and always recommended them but won't be anymore.
Well it's our third time to butlins in…
Well it's our third time to build in recent years, first time being about 6 years ago, gotta say it's just got progressively worse over the years, it's looking tired and run down, red coats look like they don't wanna be there, had a redcoat before an Abba tribute laughing down the mic at us with her red coat friend and just talking nonsense for 20 minutes while they waited for the show to start, even said oh I have to talk for another 7 minutes till they come on and continued to ramble on about nothing while people started booing her, terrible and unprofessional, red coats used to be fantastic, what has happened, I would attach pics of the site to show how run down the place is but there's no option too, our room was also a bit of a let down, paid extra for the comfort apartment plus, and put us on the very top floor three stairs of flights up when we have 3 young children, hob wasn't working, oven was smoking every time we used it, TV had no channels and was tiny, bedroom tv was even tinier, it just goes on and on, I don't think we will be bothering again, we left a day early cause it was just that bad, think we will try caravans from now on
Bad security
In October 2025 during 2000s Halloween event security falsely accused me of assault they cut my wristband off me with no warning and had to go back to chalet and miss entrainment they ignored my side of coversation next morning they admitted it wasn’t me havegiven my wristband to me then back to me then security guard who accused me harassing me all day so. I left site and written a letter to butlins and no reply since November

Urine stained bedding, unfit for purpose and food poisioning
27th dec til 2nd jan
I just paid for £2500 for me, my partner and 5 kids to have a holiday from hell. We got there late (due to traffic) checked into a disgustingley dirty room we urine stained bedding, cob webs all over bedroom walls, vomit on radiator, stains all over floor carpet and sofa, fridge had a spilage, carpet had stickey guey stuff with a red tablet on the floor. Butlins refused refused to change us rooms citing none available. Butlins delived us new bedding for us to change areselfs and this constitues as they have corrected the incident as per their guidlines. My 14yr old daughter then became violently unwell on 3rd day. Vomiting uncontrolably from 11pm until 2pm next day when ambulance arrived with anti sickness. Ambulance driver and dr that attended her said definatley something she ate on site. We paid for a platinum dining package. My daughter was the only one who ate chicken from the (deck dining hall). She ate notging the rest of the holiday. Security did welfare checks on her an initially told the rest of us to isolate with her to protect other customers. IT WASNT A BUG. Me and my partner had to take it in turns to eat with the rest of the kids. Nobody else became unwell. Butlins responded by saying they cleaned the room they didnt my partner did and videoed it too. Cleaners came to assist disinfecting bathroom (we couldnt have chemicals on site) only. Complainted to butlins who response was appauling. If we book again (pay another £2500) they will personally guarantee a clean room despite nobody being able to so originally. Apparantly nobody else got unwell (they wont prove it because its probably another lie) so its tough. No compensation offered despite paying for a service that my daughter couldnt recieve as she was poisioned. No compensation for having to isolate (although the rest of the family only isolated for a short period of time knowing they were not unwell) and no compensation for breach of contract or falsely advertiseing a comfort apartment when they should have been advertising urine soaked bedding, uncleaned for months with cobwebs, free vomit on radiators, pills on floor and sticky gue for your feet. Absolutly disgusting unfit for purpose and i have photos and videos to share for all so that everyone should see the truth before you book.
I'm outraged at the customer service
I'm outraged at the customer service. We have had to cancel our holiday because of family reasons and car troubles meaning we can't go on our holiday. We have tried to cancel but the first installment came out. We paid a deposit of £4 but they are saying we lose a deposit of £30 per person which is £120. Our family can't eat this week because butlins won't help out the families that visit it. We will not be returning for companies that are just after the money
