Abbiamo prenotato online e all'arrivo all'aeroporto di Creta siamo stati accolti con cortesia dalla signora Katerina. Abbiamo pagato il prezzo stabilito e ricevuto la macchina. Nessun problema, nessun costo aggiuntivo, ne acconto. Riportata la macchina il giorno della partenza, un'altra signora sempre con cortesia ha preso le chiavi e ci ha augurato buon viaggio. Niente da dire, la macchina funzionava benissimo.

New cars, no deposit and good staff.

Ottima esperienza, all'arrivo a tarda ora all'aeroporto di Chania a Creta è stato l'unico rent a car aperto, in quanto quello prenotato aveva chiuso e non rispondeva al telefono. La ragazza che mi ha accolto, Agnese, mi ha aiutato e mi ha spiegato il da farsi per raggiungere il mio hotel di notte. Durante la settimana la fiat panda rossa noleggiata ha funzionato normalmente.

I rented a brand new skoda fabia for 6 days from chania airport. Big thanks to the lady on the desk.

They lied to us about the total cost, including insurance. Took a deposit and when we went to pick up the car next day, they told us it was more money.

Then the car broke down, 100 miles down the road. They were really unhelpful and told us to fix it ourselves or go and find a mechanic. Ended up having to pay for the repair ourselves which Caravel refused to refund to us. Our last day was ruined.

Total scammers. Do not use these cowboys, should be investigated by the police.

Sur leur site, on réserve avec une assurance tout compris. (175 euros pour une semaine)
Et en arrivant sur place on me dit qu'il faut ajouter 70 euros pour ne pas avoir de franchise en cas de dommages.

Hadden een auto gereserveerd voor 130 euro incl verzekering. Moest 50 euro aanbetalen en de rest bij het ophalen van de auto.

Toen wij de auto de volgende dag op gingen halen, kwam het erop neer dat de verzekering die wij hadden, die hoorde bij de 130 euro, 3000 euro eigen risico had. Als ik echter 250 euro betaalde, had ik 100% verzekering en geen eigen risico. Ik gaf aan dat ik dat niet wilde en gewoon de deal wilde van 130 euro.

Om die verzekering te kunnen afsluiten, moest er 3000 euro gereserveerd worden op mijn creditcard, voor het geval er schade was. Daar moest ik een formulier voor tekenen. Prima. Toen bleek echter dat mevrouw dat formulier opeens niet op kantoor had liggen en dat het gebracht moest worden door een collega. Ze wist niet hoe lang dat ging duren. Beetje gek dat die formulieren niet op kantoor liggen, maar daar was blijkbaar een reden voor; Als ik namelijk de volledige verzekering nam, hoefde er geen eigen risico gereserveerd te worden, was het formulier niet nodig, en kon ik zo de weg op! Ik kreeg dan wel nog een beetje korting voor het ongemak.

Puntje bij paaltje kwam het erop neer dat ze je dus net zolang laten wachten op een nep-formulier, tot je besluit de deal te nemen en meer geld te betalen.

Ik gaf aan dat ik gewoon de deal wilde die ik had afgesproken en er werd met een vieze glimlach gezegd dat het wel heel druk was en dat ze niet wist hoe lang het ging duren. Wat een oplichting!! Steeds werd er gevraagd waarom ik niet gewoon de verzekering wilde en toen was het opeens ook nog mijn schuld dat mevrouw zoveel moeite voor mij deed voor niks.

Toen ik zei dat ik mijn aanbetaalde geld terug wilde zei de medewerkster dat zij dat niet kon doen, dat moest zijn eerst met haar leidinggevende bespreken. Ik zei dat ze dan haar leidinggevende maar moest bellen om het te vragen, maar mevrouw vond dat ze al genoeg moeite had gedaan en het niet kon maken om wéér haar leidinggevende te bellen. We moesten de volgende ochtend maar terugkomen voor de 50 euro. Na veel discussie besloten om dan de volgende ochtend maar terug te gaan, want de vrouw bij het kantoor was op geen enkele manier meewerkend. Vreselijk.

Op de terugweg naar het strand kwamen wij langs een ander pandje van deze verhuurmaatschappij, waar wij aangesproken werden door de medewerker aldaar. Hij begon hetzelfde verhaal met verzekeringen, deals, kortingen... Maar puntje bij paaltje zouden we nog een stuk duurder uit zijn. Ik weigerde en eiste ook bij deze man mijn 50 euro terug. Gelukkig kreeg ik het daar wel.

Al met al;
Geen auto, mijn creditcardgegevens bekend bij deze oplichters en een paar uur van de vakantiedag in de prullenbak.

Je reinste oplichterij. Ga hier absoluut geen auto huren! Gezien alle andere reviews, gebeurt dit bij iedereen en is dit bedrijf er alleen op uit om mensen meer en meer geld te laten betalen voor niet geleverde services.

Decisamente negativa! Abbiamo prenotato a €350 lo scorso anno con assicurazione completa senza carta di credito e senza franchigia..... giunti in aeroporto l amara sorpresa ! Ci viene richiesto 500€ oppure un deposito di 1500 con la carta di credito....stanchi dal viaggio abbiamo accettato con molto rammarico .... ma non ci fregheranno più.....fate attenzione !!! Sono disonesti

Horrible experience. Me and my partner came in to the shop this morning to book a car for two days as it seemed like a good deal with insurance and for the car we wanted. We started to fill our details out and the lady looks me up and down and said ‘do you even work out’ and smirking. My partner is a large bodybuilder body type. However I am only a size 8 and I felt absolutely horrible to the point I’ve walked out crying. Would not recommend unless you want to be insulted need to work on being nice to paying customers disgusting experience with staff there was absolutely no need for any comment about anyone’s body or weight. I’m absolutely appalled.

We chose Caravel to rent our car due to the rental office being opposite our hotel. The man at that office was very helpful and so kind to us throughout our stay and we would have daily conversations with him. His name was Yiannis and definitely deserves a pay rise!
When we went to book with him he told us that we only needed to pay a 20 euro deposit with him and when we collect the car in the morning we go to the office which is just 5 minutes walk down the road.
This office however we’re not so friendly! On arrival we were told that despite being told insurance would be fully covered in the price… this is not the case and we need to pay an extra £100! When I refused he said the only other option was to hold £1000 on a card should anything happen to the car! I also refused this saying that they told us the insurance was included in the day rate and he said he would do a deal for £70 instead of £100 and that would mean we would have no excess if anything happened to the car along with a full tank of petrol and that we could bring the car back empty. This didn’t seem so bad so we just agreed so we could leave! When we got into the car the petrol was on half. When we questioned it we were told that that would be enough for where we want to go and we just wanted to get on with our day. We drove 30 mins down the road and already the petrol light was on! I phoned the office and told them they said it would be full and they claimed they didn’t understand us! We had to pay £30 to fill back up and when we returned I requested it back! The guy tried to worm his way out but I put my foot down and said that we would have paid £100 more for nothing and he phoned his manager and said we would get the money back in the morning. We returned the following morning and the manager wasn’t there but we were given 30 euros cash there and then without issues. Although we were happy with this outcome it does still seem like a bit of a scam as we spent £70 more than needed! The car itself was good and the directions given by Yiannis was great.

Shameless and scammers at the Stalis office (Rd beach). Not at all empathetic. You talk and they don't look you in the face, they are rude and liars. They are not trustworthy, they modify the prices as they please. When I went with my family I didn't feel like arguing. I asked them for a complaint form and they don't have one (they didn't want to give it to me). Not recommended at all.

Sinvergüenzas y estafadores oficina de Stalis (Rd beach). Nada empaticos. Hablas y mo miran a la cara, son unos maleducados y mentirosos. No son de fiar, modifican los precios como quieren. Al ir con la familia no tenía ganas de discutir. Les pedí hoja de reclamaciones y no tienen (no quiso dármelas). No recomendable para nada.

La macchina che ci è stata consegnata era davvero sporca, anche i sedili, purtroppo.
Sicuramente non l'hanno pulita dai precedenti utilizzatori.

Dont use these in Stalis Crete. Tbey are dishonest with their prices- piling on an extortionate cost for damage waiver when you collect the car. Then they refuse to come out if you have a flat tyre, potentially leaving you stranded. Complained but they couldnt care less. Avoid Avoid Avoid

Recensione pessima, sconsigliato assolutamente, all arrivo voleva fare il furbo chiedendoci la carta di credito e la cauzione , in quanto avevo gia stabilito il preventivo dall italia e non occorreva nulla solo il prezzo stabilito, invece poi ha aumentato il prezzo per non pagare con la carta di credito e porgere la cauzione di 1000 euro , in piu l auto consumava tantissimo carburante ed era molto lenta , assolutamente sconsigliato ⛔️

Abbiamo prenotato sul loro sito dove diceva chiaramente "noleggio senza carta di credito e senza cauzione", arrivati a Heraklion il tizio ci chiede una carta di credito per poter bloccare una cauzione di €1500, oppure cash...altrimenti il prezzo dell'auto sarebbe salito quasi del doppio. Sconsigliatissimo, pensano di fare i furbi con il turista ma ci rimettono loro! Ce ne sono molti altri onesti....

SCAMMERS I do not recommend Caravel rent car rental in Crete. When picking up the car at the airport, they increase the price, the advertisement with full insurance and no deposits, the deposit on the credit card is a lie. Communication via email suddenly stopped and they only wrote back after returning the car that they would return the money. Of course they didn't return anything. I do not recommend this company - avoid them and especially do not trust their prices. When picking up the car, they increase it and they are not even interested in the reservation email with the price. Lesson learned for next time, just thieves and scammers

I can highly recommend Caravel Car Rental in Crete.
The booking process and communication was excellent, thanks to the friendly staff at the Heraklion office. The cars are in good condition and fair pricing. You can always tell how good a business is by the way they handle unexpected changes and complications well. Thank you Elsa, Gabriella and Panayiotis.
