One star

One star. I signed up for ConstructConnect Project Intelligence for my small business (Austin, TX market) and it did not generate a single usable lead or job in the time I had it. The cost is high ($3,200/year, billed quarterly) and you're locked into a full 12-month term with non-refundable payments — so even when the service isn't working for you, there's no way out until the year ends.

I contacted them and explained that I'm closing my business and taking significant losses, and asked for some flexibility on the remainder of the contract. The response was that the terms are fixed and the payments are non-refundable — no willingness to work with me despite the circumstances. That tells you a lot about how they handle a customer in a hard spot.

In my opinion the platform isn't worth the price: much of the project information it provides can be found publicly online, so I struggled to see what I was actually paying for. For my business the value simply wasn't there.

If you're a small contractor, go in with your eyes open: this is a year-long commitment, the leads may not match your trade or area, and getting any flexibility once you've signed is an uphill battle. I'd recommend trying a month-to-month or lower-commitment alternative first.

If you're another small contractor who had a similar experience, I'd be interested to compare notes — it would help others make an informed decision. Disappointed overall. The platform may work for larger firms, but it did not deliver value for my business.

You're right in that we do offer monthly subscriptions, which can be a lower-commitment starting point for smaller businesses, but our annual plan is built around access to the full depth of our project data, including plans and specifications, which typically aren't available through public sources.

I’ve had an extremely frustrating…

I’ve had an extremely frustrating experience with Construction Connect. Their customer service and account management have been very unresponsive, especially when it comes to billing and cancellations.
Trying to cancel my subscription has been far more difficult than it should be. After being billed for an additional year, I reached out multiple times by email and phone to discuss the charge and request cancellation, but I received little to no response. I even submitted a written note requesting that my account at least be canceled for the following renewal period since they would not refund the recent charge, and still nobody followed up.
It feels like the company is far more focused on continuing to bill customers than on providing quality support or maintaining a strong reputation in the construction industry. Communication has been poor throughout the process, and getting a clear answer or callback has been nearly impossible.
I would strongly encourage anyone considering signing up to carefully review the cancellation terms and be very cautious before committing. Based on my experience, support and billing practices have been extremely disappointing.

They have totally dropped the ball

They have totally dropped the ball. Went through their platform demo with one of their techs, Marvin. The platform looked good as he went through it in my niche. At the end of the 20 or so minutes, he asked what I thought. After he answered a few questions haphazardly, all he wanted was for me to sign up and give him my credit card number. Jerking me around about how they were the biggest and best platform blah blah. At the time, I was ready but wanted to look into their reviews and other services. He offered a decent discount if I signed up then, but I refused. He was going to send a thank-you-for-attending email promptly, with the discount good until the end of the month. Still have not received that email. I contacted the salesman Ben to remind Marvin to send the email, but to deaf ears. It's been over two weeks, and there's still no email. After reading their online reviews, it is a blessing that I didn't jump at their offer!

I have tried to cancel my subscription…

I have tried to cancel my subscription with them for a week before my 14 days we up because I was not happy with the service and they tricked me into taking that there take off software worked for plumbing and quickly found out that it was a extra cost on top of the high price they charge me and if you try to cancel they will give you the runaround and tell you that you just need to sign up for training but they never have any openings for weeks at a time and no training after 2;00 pm I am still trying to get my money back but won’t do it this is a scam scam and a scam do not trust this company please

Poor quality product

Poor quality product. 90% of the items you find on the service are available publicly, the rest dont have drawings or other information. Buyer beware. Its a poorly run service.

This service is not worth the expensive…

This service is not worth the expensive price. Beware of discounted trials that could end up automatically renewing for a dramatic price increase. The cancelation process is time consuming but must be precisely followed or else your credit card is hit for the renewal.

Bad information

I contacted them about a year ago because they have used our company domain name for the email addresses of bidders from other companies with the same name, but they don't verify their information. I keep getting a ton of calls from other contractors who want to work with us on bids we never made. I seriously do not have time for this and I need them to SCRUB our domain name from their entire website; it's used on at least 3 projects. I feel bad for the people that pay them for this information; they deserve better, too.

Horrible company

Horrible company. Hit me with an almost 8k charge after I told them to take me off of auto renew. Now they are fighting a charge for a service I never use.

ConstructConnect will shake you down

ConstructConnect bought On Center Software, which I have been using since 2001, and purchased a PERPETUAL license from them 12 years ago for $15k. I used to have a great relationship with On Center, until ConstructConnect came into the picture. I brought On Center Software with me to three different large construction companies, and they would even have other companies call me for referrals. Over the years, they have been using every excuse to get more money out of me. One time they blamed it on Microsoft, saying that if I didn’t upgrade the program then it would “not work correctly”. Then they had other excuses. Over the years, they have shaken me down for another $5-6k. Their latest ploy is saying that I have to start paying for “maintenance” (a $2,495+ annual fee) because “Without this, your licenses could be suspended, and while that hasn’t happened yet, it’s important to renew as soon as possible to avoid any disruptions. Renewing your maintenance ensures you continue to receive vital technical support and free software updates that keep you running smoothly.” This is what I imagine the mafia would say.

Maintenance provides “updates, custom training, support”, which are all things that I have no use for. I have been using this program for 24 years and have never had to call in for training or support. The updates are a joke; I don’t use any of the features that they have added over the last decade. Now they have sent an update that now perpetual licenses require a “Grandfathered subscription — For $1,000 annually, you’ll receive full access to updates, custom training, support, and all current and future features. This is significantly more cost-effective than the new standard which is $2,495+ annually.” So, at this point, my only option is paying $1,000 a year for something that I have already paid over $20k into, and also helped them sell the software to other companies which brought them over $100k. So, I either pay up so “…your licenses stay in good standing.” or I won’t be able use the software anymore, despite all the thousands that I have paid into it. It goes to show that loyalty to a brand is dead; especially when they are not loyal to you.

Awful company to employ, you can’t get anyone on the phone and they will not end your subscription when you ask them to. There are much better tools out there..

Forced to be locked in hefty subscription fee

Hefty subscription fee. and will refuse to end your subscription until they get entire year payment other sites available info for fee or lower fees. Was not productive for me.
