An unrestrained/illegitimate revenue generator for government
Crywolf is authorized to bill without any meaningful oversight or accountability by Washoe County, NV. I imagine it is similar in other jurisdictions. If you pay your bill on line, not only do they charge you a $3. convenience fee, they then, without authorization, switch you to paperless. When you don't receive a bill for the next billing cycle, their late fee is more than the annual registration. They charge you $25 to appeal, and then unjustly dismiss your concerns. If you call, their mind damaging hold music is cranked to maximum volume, and their occasional notices telling you that you are number 60 in line is so quiet, you can't hear it, even on high volume, so that you are forced to suffer the blasting hold music, so that you don't miss it if a live person actually answers on the other end. Once you force them to actually send you a bill, the following year they can again fail to send you a bill the subsequent year, so that you get another late fee, and they can falsely claim to have sent you multiple bills. Washoe County fails to return calls with complaints about this program. It is a government sanctioned scam.
