Damp Detectives Ltd  Opiniones

We’re first-time buyers, had a level 2 survey on a property that suggested we get a damp survey. Rather than getting a free survey by a company that will likely try and sell their damp-proof services, we wanted an independent company to get a reliable idea of what work is actually needed.

We reached out to Evie who was very quick to respond to emails and provided lots of info about the process. Evie quickly booked the survey with the seller’s estate agents and Jamie carried out the survey the following week. Jamie called to give a general overview which was really helpful and was happy to answer questions then and going forward, and the full written report was with us in just a few days. The report was really detailed (including good photos of chimney, gutters etc) and suggested what work would need to be done to fix any damp issues.

Really great experience overall, very quick to get the survey completed and for a very reasonable price too. Would definitely recommend Damp Detectives.

We contacted Jonathan from Damp Detectives to understand damp in the loft and the cause of a leak in a different roof. Jonathan was easy to communicate with, provided a quote and appointment time. Jonathan did an extensive survey and provided a detailed and clear explanation of the cause of the issues and recommendations on how these could be resolved. As Jonathan is independent from any provider I feel even more confident that the assessment is correct. We are now clear on what we have to do to resolve the issues and feel that we will be more confident when talking to companies to undertake the work.

Following the discovery of years of unnoticed damp on a cavity insulated wall, built up from a neighbours garden way above our damp course, a chimney leak badly repaired last September, now leaking from all the wet weather and a free quote to solve with only a 10 year guarantee costing thousands. We started to feel we were just throwing good money after bad, and if went with that survey and quote, the damp would just come back and likely worse.
We found Damp Detectives scrolling through the internet. Videos watched and all they advised on their website, made sense to get a proper paid survey, that in the right hands would get the work needed done, to eradicate the damp and not just mask it for a while.
Tim called, appointment made
easily. Arrived on time and did a thorough survey of our chimney and wall. He was knowledeable, professional, understanding and helpful with his advice on what we do and don't need to do.
With Tim's survey the right tradesperson, should now be able to quote only for what needs to be done and hopefully save us thousands.
Thank you Tim and the Damp Detectives!

Wiltshire: Darren Horn was excellent, planned a visit very quickly, spent 2.5 hours at the house with Robert checking out various patches of damp and gave me some useful, practical advice for improving the house's ventilation generally and ahead of some building work. I will definitely consider using the service again.

Jonathan Young is competent and professional. Successful diagnosis of our damp problems and clear, effective communication as to how to remedy. We feel more informed now, better able to take action and empowered for the future. Thank you Jonathon and Michelle, who also helped!

Jonathan provided a great service identifying the likely cause of the damp/musty smell problem in our apartment. He recommended some solutions which we subsequently implemented then returned about 18 months later to re-take measurements to confirm that the solution was working. Thanks for your help.

Scott was a really lovely guy and very knowledgeable and thorough. I really liked the fact damp detectives are completely independent as it's so hard to trust trades these days. I found the survey and findings actually really interesting and helpful in order to improve and rectify my home and answer some questions on a few issues I was having locating the causes. Would happily use Scott again if required and recommend.

Scott Clark was very professional and helpful. He was punctual and thorough and gave us some useful information. He went out of his way to help and even took up a section of our floor boards which revealed the source of our problems.

Visited by Damp Detectives,Bryony and Bob to discuss remedies to our damp problems.Solutions were offered to our problems in a way that even an ignoramus like me could understand.
All in all,a very pleasant and rewarding experience, and I would have no problem recommending Damp Detectives.

Jonathan was friendly and professional. He explained everything in a way we could understand. He identified the cause of our damp and advised how to rectify it and the subsequent damage.

We would definitely recommend Jonathan

Scott is very thorough, professional, and gives an independent opinion. His reporting is excellent, with conclusive results.

Great experience in using damp detectives. Scott explained from the start what he would aim to do and arrived on time on the agreed date. He carried out a thorough inspection of our property and suggested a number of issues to address to eliminate the damp that wasn't resolved by a previous contractor.
Mike

Prompt and efficient service. Scott arrived on time. Clear information based on sound knowledge. Scott was personable and professional.

Jonathan and Michelle at Damp Detectives were very professional and took me through each part of the survey work step by step. The follow up report was received very quickly after the survey work was undertaken, which is much appreciated to support our damp issue.

After having a damp survey done around 18 months ago we've had nothing but issues based on the poor advice given in the report.

We were told a damp proof injection would sort our wall, proved to not be the case and after having another damp survey found out this would never have addressed the rising damp without taking the wall back to brick and a membrane put in.

Also told damp marks on ceiling were caused by mice/rats wee. Again totally wrong. Work needed doing on roof which was only discovered when getting another person over. Problem would have been smaller if found initially.

All we have had since the report has been issue after issue that surely should have been picked up by professional damp surveyors. We've also wasted more money than we should have on the remidial work and the initial survey.

Scott came back to our house a year after our initial consultation to help us with an ongoing issue, and was incredibly helpful and thorough. He gave us really practical tips to help us work through the problem, and was very detailed and knowledgeable. He also did all of this follow up free of charge, which was so unexpected. Fantastic service and really helpful! Thank you!

Evie and Jamie were great. Quick and friendly service. Thorough survey. Detailed report. Great insight and helpful information. Excellent to get a better understanding of the property and the likely causes of issues, and to be provided with some good pointers about how to fix the problems. no scare-mongering, no teeth-sucking. They're not trying to get further work, they're just providing objective facts. Would highly recommend.

Jonny was fantastic: he looks at the house holistically, taking into account how it is meant to work (it was built in 1840) and finds all the causes for damp coming into the house, which can then be sorted. It's the way it should be done; none of the usual, expensive 'you need to damp proof it' sales pitch. He has saved us money and ensured that our house will be dry forever more. Cheers mate.

Just brilliant, had persistent damp problem and nobody could help. Jonathon was straight on to it and problem solved. Very pleased client

Huge thank you to Andy from Damp detectives, he was punctual, friendly and very knowledgeable. Andy is very helpful and put things across in a clear and understanding way exactly what we needed. Fast turnaround for the report as well which was much appreciated.
I will recommend this company to everyone. They are fantastic.
