Fantastic healthy meals
Fantastic healthy meals. Make you not hungry and if you stick rigidly to the plan it really works. I easily lost 2 stone last time I used them in 2018. I'm back again now aiming to lose 3 stone ....and confident I will. I've tried everything...nothing else works as well as diet chef. Only disappointed this time since 2018 is that they are tough to speak to . Never used to be the case. Signing up and taking your money is easy but trying to get an e mail answered quickly seems to be difficult. Most times you ring with a simple enquiry noone answers the phone. It goes to voicemail which I hate. In any decent company in 2025 you should get someone to answer the phone when a customer calls especially as you give them a not inconsiderarable amount of money! I guess they know the product is good ; they have a monopoly and don't care about customer service these days.

Not for us
Food portions are tiny you have to add to the meals, overpriced for the quality, food did not taste nice as vacuum packed and not fresh, you can only microwave most of the food and we don’t have a microwave, we bought to lose weight and save time and found for us it does neither, getting through to the customer services was a nightmare but the lady who rang back was very nice and helpful, nothing was fresh - a lot my own fault as clearly didn’t read the small print carefully.

Food is great but,
I’d forgotten how big and heavy the boxes were. Being no nearly 80 and also disabled there is no way I can possibly deal with the size of the delivery so I was amazed when the DPD driver offered to bring it in for me. It’s normally just dumped on the ramp infront of my door and left. I have asked can it be delivered in two boxes but have been told it can’t be, which is a great disappointment to me. On the plus side when I told diet chef I would have to cancel as I was about to go for an operation which would make things even more difficult, rather than losing my custom they have offered me a pause in deliveries, so have delayed my next box for three months in the hope I can then cope.

I only want to lose a couple of lbs but…
I only want to lose a couple of lbs but do not want to put on weight as decorating and have no oven so this was a great idea as everything is microwaved. I have all the meals with salad. I have fruit in my breakfast and I’ve got the plan that I get two days off for the weekend when I eat out. I did find taking the covering off the meals once cooked can be very difficult so I pierce the top and also lift the covering off and then place it back on so when cooked I can just lift it off with ease - for me this is a dream come true as I haven’t got to worry about Sandwiches and takeaways which in the end will only put on weight and can be hefty on the pocket - thank you

Big Decline - Don't waste your money
I used Diet Chef over 10 years ago and it was great. Sadly, the quality has plummeted.
They sent the wrong items and expected me to cover return delivery. The food was bland and beige, with smaller portions and most meals bulked out with rice instead of proper protein.
Shockingly, one “chicken” meal turned out to be PORK! I sent photo evidence, but the response was dismissive and careless. After returning the order the very next day, the refund of was delayed until I chased it.
Avoid this service – it’s not worth the money. Just meal prep at home.

By way of a general reply, we haven't changed any of our recipes, indeed we have added some new ones to the range. Regarding chicken being 'pork', this would not be possible as we do not have any pork on site apart from our pork meatballs, which are made elsewhere. What you may have seen is a darker chicken meat, such as thigh meat. If you do reach out to us, we can look at this further with you.

Great experience
Everything arrived on time and the food tastes really good. You can find the food you like best and modify your order to suit. Its easy to keep track and monitor calorie intake. Everything is explained thoroughly. A really good experience. Due to a work situation, I have to take a break from the deliveries. This was sorted straight away by Jenny with no issues. She gave me all the information needed and was clear and transparent. I hope to return in the near future. Thanks so much!

I thought that I would give it a go as the food on the website almost looked fresh I opted for the Four month plan as it seemed good value I didn’t realise that when you cancelled that it would cost me £70
I think the problem with the food is having to take out a months supply that there are so many additives in in the majority of the food comes out of the packet in a dark brown mush that not even smells nice before you put it in your mouth I would honestly say that I have put it in the bin only to get complaints of the cats and foxes who can’t eat it either I comment the customers who have given it a five star rating I can’t help feeing that they must have a blocked nose and no sense of smell

Diet chef is a tasty and convenient way to loose weight. Breakfasts and lunches are really nice Granola and Burrito Bowl were a particular favourite. Good choice of meals although a few years back I think the choice may have been slightly better with Tikka Masala Curry and the Paella.
Couple of days back I contacted customer services regarding my account, Jenny was super helpful and the response was very quick providing me with the information requested.

Diet Chef provides a structured and tasty way to improve your eating, with everything prepared and ready to go. It works particularly well if you have a special occasion coming up or just want to overhaul your eating in an efficient way. The meals are varied and keep it interesting, as well as pairing with whatever fruit or veg you'd like. The blueberry pancakes, sweet and sour chicken and chilli con carne are particularly delicious, but all the meals are good. Customer service was faultless when I had a query and Jenny from the Diet Chef team got back to me super quickly and was really helpful.

Watch what you click on. I thought I was getting the £159. Per month it happens to be that is just for the first month then I was charged £90 for cancelling. They said I signed up for 5mintgs at £319 how ridiculous is that. I’m a pensioner and cat pay that amount a month. It’s a con. The only weight you will loose is in your pocket. Be careful. They have took £90 from me for cancelling. Bloody awful

Very disappointed
Very disappointed with the meals some are actually inedible. Have cancelled my subscription. Snacks are a joke mostly like cardboard. You lose weight because there is nothing tasty to eat. Will not be joining again!

Expensive and less flexible than it used to be.
Expensive compared to how it used to be. Fewer choices and no '5-day' option. Meals are okay, but I would like to see more flexibility. Only a five-day extension for the next delivery, so it is impossible to allow for holidays, etc.

Didn’t like the few dished I did try. The chicken dinners were pork! Definitely not chicken . Seems they have used the same recipe in each dish.

The meals are nothing like the pictures and are oily, spicy and lacking in ingredients. I've tried contacting customer service twice to cancel but heard nothing back.
