Edapt is a great union. The weekly emails and articles are well written and informative and the team is highly responsive to any questions or queries. Luckily not had to use their services as if yet but if I do - I know from other subscribers - that it is quick and efficient.

I moved away from the main educational unions this year and chose Edapt...and have never looked back. Professional, great value for money and extremely communicative. I highly recommend Edapt to everyone reading this. Thank you!

Edapt are great, they have direct access to employment lawyers unlike other unions where you may work with a non employment law specialist (i.e. rep).
Edapt are generally very quick and good over email.
Negatives are lack of a phyical rep in my school and/or due to covid I can't see them in person.
They have however been personally of a great help to me, plus they are affordable.

I joined Edapt after finding the big teaching union's stance of educational issues too confrontational. I did not really expect to use their services but when an issue arose, their advice was helpful and supportive. Months later, when I needed to take things further, the legal representation was of the highest calibre and they were able to resolve my issue. My representative was always available through calls and messages and was highly knowledgeable and friendly. I could not recommend them more highly.

Would recommend Edapt to any teacher. I had no strong union presence at my school and decided to try Edapt instead—it was an excellent decision. I have received top notch help with a recent issue, far beyond anything I could have expected from a union. Great advice, fast call-backs when I’ve had a query, and very helpful, even through the difficult Covid situation.

My experience with Edapt has been superb. I have been in a nightmare and unexpected situation where my integrity and honesty have been questioned by my employer. For many months, my caseworker has meticulously scrutinised any paperwork (of which there has been a huge amount) and gone through it with a fine tooth comb or spent time on virtual meetings or the phone with me, resulting in advice and expertise that I would have found impossible to get my head round. What the advice did was give me the confidence to challenge my accusers and build a case that gradually proved my argument. Not only that, the initial shock and severity of the allegations caused my governors to doubt me, however, thanks to the support from my case worker and the consequent reports that I was able to produce based on that precise advice, they became my staunchest allies and then developed a whole team of supporters leading to a successful conclusion and an end to the whole affair. I am truly indebted to my case worker and Edapt. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

I joined this union as I don’t like the main 2 teaching unions - I prefer not to strike and feel they can be a little too reactionary.
However, during the recent Corona Virus crisis, Edapt were worse than useless. They closed their offices throughout the Christmas holidays and did not give any advice on the website for teachers like me who were unsure whether to return due to health and safety concerns. Meanwhile the NEU were very proactive holding zoom calls to give advice and answer questions even on the Sunday before term started. The NASUWT offered lots of advice on their website too.
Therefore, unfortunately, Edapt is not fit for purpose. If they cannot give advice during the most difficult time for teachers in recent memory, then there is no point in subscribing to their services.
They have also refused to cancel my subscription until the full year of membership has expired.
Really not impressed.
I would advice any teachers who are looking for a union to choose someone else instead.

Just to add … Edapt didn’t bother to reply to this message until 7 months after I posted it. That says it all really!!!!
