It seems impossible to get in touch with these people - given a choice, I wouldn't even try. A cheque they sent to me was stopped by Lloyds bank. When I enquired why, the response was, 'Well, it's gone from our end', which is no help at all. Since then, emails and complaints have gone unanswered, and it hasn't been possible to get an answer on the phone.
Poor company standards
Poor company standards. Do not follow their core values when it comes to stuff. They sacked me because I had to take time of to look after my dad. I had recently left this review but they had it take down
Driveway dug up for new electricity…
Driveway dug up for new electricity cables. Half of drive put back and other half has just been left. Almost impossible to get hold of anyone. Very disappointing 😢
Zero star rating not aavailable
It has now taken this shower of baboons 12 months to fail to replace a piece of rotten chipboard in my meter cupboard, and also fail to figure out how my house is connected to their network. The only real star rating would be a minus number. Their communication is not bad, it is non existent on this planet, and they obviously know nothing, and care even less, which, when you consider the nature of the product they re handling is pretty terrifying.

Absolutely diabolical! While completing work on my neighbour’s house at the end of 2024 ENWL dug my patio up without permission and have tried to make me believe it’s ok. My dispute with them has gone on for over 12 months and has just been resolved. Companies should be held to task by someone in these circumstances as I had to fight them on my own. The ombudsman said they don’t deal with cases like this.
This is the worst company I have ever…
This is the worst company I have ever dealt with.
The complaints department takes over a month to respond to an existing complaint. Emails go unanswered, and I have had to constantly chase for updates with little to no communication in return.
I do not understand how this company operates. The lack of response and accountability has been incredibly stressful.
I have now had to escalate the matter to the Energy Ombudsman, as I can no longer cope with the way this has been handled.
This level of service is completely unacceptable.
Website said fault was being handled, but nothing happened for hours
There was a power cut at my property in the early hours of the morning.
The power supply was lost at approximately 3:00am. Their website indicated throughout the early morning that the fault was “being looked at”, however no engineers attended or took action until around 9:00am. This delay significantly increased the total outage time and gave the impression that the issue was actively being addressed when it was not.
As a result of the prolonged outage, I am placed at great risk of losing perishable food stored in my fridge and freezers, including expensive items that may no longer be safe for consumption.
Over the phone, they suggested contacting home insurance, but also admitted that it might not be worth the likely increase in premiums.
I will be writing a formal complaint, and I suggest others do too.

Terrible company. Do not use for any works. Moved my meter and ever since I have been having low voltage and flickering near off lights. Been waiting for a voltage recorder for over 4 months now and all I hear is they are back logged. Had issues when I needed to move the meter also. Never seen a company as bad as them. Like they are literally the worst people I have dealt with. Save yourself and DO NOT HAVE ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM.

Had a power cut, when I phoned mentioning that I was a vulnerable person I was treated like an idiot. Made a complaint. Promised a goodwill payment for poor service. One month on nothing received despite two email reminders.

OK I get it, its a small area under 200 houses affected (if you believe them), but they cant even give a constant cause of the fault(s).
Reluctant to start anything on internet (besides mobile) because both my router and PC really dont like sudden power loss (data corruption atleast).
Canceled works
Had an appointment to have my power supply de-looped, this has taken over a year to get.
with lots of organising from myself negotiating with 12 neighbours to ensure ENW had access to the road and myself taking 2 days off work to ensure i could be there, THEY CANCELED WITH LESS THAN 24h NOTICE.
Lack of resources was given as the reason.
Lack of resources with less than 24 hours to appointment is poor planning by poor management.

Poor workmanship in finishing repairs to my driveway. None existent supervision.
Laggardly complaints procedure until I gave up. Not fit for purpose.

Absolutely appalling treatment from Electricity North West.
I am a small business owner which is already tough in this climate.
But to then receive a text message the DAY BEFORE a planned power outage which would last around 6.5 hours is ridiculously unfair.
When brought to their attention, I was offered nothing but 'sorry' and 'it is your responsibility to provide the business with a back up generator '.
Whilst I 100% understand that power cuts happen- and yes so to planned ones. But the PLANNED bit was totally disregarded.
I did not receive any mail through the post, I did not receive messages at an earlier time- and therefore was unable to plan my business needs around it.
My business is a children's soft play area and you did this damage to my business in SCHOOL HALF TERM HOLIDAYS with bad weather.
I had to contact every customer and refund them which was soul destroying and completely unnecessary. You have literally just thrown me to the gutter.
In total- the lack of communication from you resulted in me making a loss of nearly 3k. This could literally make or break a small company.
There were also 2 other companies near to us who had also not been notified until the day before.
I escalated my complaint and was told I'd be contacted in 11 days- to only hear from you 15 days!!!!
And when the conversation was had- NOTHING had changed.
Your lack of care and consideration for my losses is an absolute joke- and I hope your business never goes under- leaving your staff unemployed and unpaid as it is a sickening feeling to have.
No communication, consideration nor support. I've never been SO angry and upset as I am right now- oh and 3k down.
Customer service nil and void.
Joke of a company.
Power surge damage
We had a new burglar alarm fitted last year. It was working absolutely fine until there was a power surge on our estate. We were unlucky and it completely blew our alarm system. I was told I was dealing with SPENW. They refused to pay for a new alarm system saying they were exempt because of some small print they put in their contracts. They told me to speak to my home insurers who would replace it, which I thought was nonsense. I was right. These "experts" were wrong. Typical monopoly type company. They are about maximizing profit, not customer care or even fairness. I am now £700 down and it isn't my fault, IT IS TOTALLY THEIR FAULT. If it wasn't a monopoly, there is NIL chance I would have anything to do with them, but I'm stuck with them.
Unreliable and dishonest.
Asked Electricity North West to isolate a cable on our house for safety reasons as we need to put Scaffolding up, we were told a maximum of 3 weeks, that 3 weeks has now passed and when I rang for yet another update I was told to give them another call if I'd not heard anything for another week. No timescale given, they have on their file that we have yong children living here (one 4 years old and one 6 month old) and seemingly don't care that we're living in a building site as work has now stopped until Scaffolding can go up.

Pissing in the wind to get hold of anyone. They should take a leaf out of the the waterboard service they are fantastics at answering the phone and dealing with an enquiry
This company think it is acceptable to…
This company think it is acceptable to leave 135 homes without power for 8 hours & do not care what so ever about the effects it has on family emergencies and care even less about pets struggling in extreme heat with no access to fans or air conditioning due to having no electric.
Absolutely appalling!

North West Electricity is an absolute disgrace have waiting for months and still no results cann't get through on the phone and just get cut off.
Poor experience
Turned up unannounced claiming that their switchboard had told them that they’d agreed in advance the visiting time - complete lie. Engineer informed me that this happens on a regular basis where they arrive at a location having been told the visiting time has been agreed only to discover that the home owner has no prior knowledge of their visit. The engineer informed me that he was a qualified electrician whereas most of their engineers are not. Although he was very friendly he seemed to have limited knowledge and had to constantly call colleagues for support and a local electrician who I put him in contact with to get further support and guidance. Not a good experience.
15 power cuts in the last 12 months
15 power cuts in the last 12 months. Joke of a company. Full evening without power but because it isn't 12 hours, you are entitled to no compensation. Useless the lot of them.
