I tried a few garages to get some…

I tried a few garages to get some prices for a full service. Price were far more expensive than they quoted.

Tried Formula1, Lenton, Nottingham.
I have to say Ash and his team were brilliant.
Ash kept me up to speed of what was needed.
They spotted the advisories from the MOT and quoted.
Work was done, and car now runs mint.
Will definitely use them again❤️

Impeccable experience

I have issues going back to 2024 and 2025 but this year they have convinced me that ther are honest people in the automotive industry. Andrew the depot manager gave me the service you would expect from a family run business, a breath of fresh air promises made and kept. I had an impeccable service experience, if I could give it 6 stars I would. Well done Andrew Burgess, excellent customer skills, personality, knowledge and experience.

Great service from Andrew - needed tyre fitting in a hurry as MOT failed late on Friday - sorted first thing Saturday morning so I could make my important journey - highly recommended 👍🏼

Booked a appointment to have a tyre replaced as I had a slow puncture spoke to Leyton what a diamond an absolute credit to Formula 1 went to pick the car up and he said he had fixed the puncture saving a considerable amount of money he was friendly polite and professional Thanks again Leyton young will have motoring business in the future

Absolutely dishonest garage

Absolutely dishonest garage and manager there. I specifically took my son's car for ABS fault and repair. However, they did the same diagnostics, charged me the fee and did not do repair as its beyond their capacity! The call was recorded that I specifically mentioned I do not need diagnostic but repair as mentioned by other garage. I am still waiting for the explanation and refund, have sent complaint to their area manager twice via their website but no response in last 2months. Its disgusting to see that for trivial amount of money( 47.50) people/ buisnesses are dishonest and greedy ! Will advice to stay away from this garage at all cost.

Quoted £500 for repair that didn’t need doing

Took my car in for an MOT, which it failed. I expected this due to the age and condition of the car. One of the failures was that one of the seatbelts wouldn’t pull out. They quoted more than £500 for a new seatbelt (new dealer part). My boyfriend gave the seatbelt a few hard tugs and it is now working normally again.
Update… I was contacted by the Area Manager
who was apologetic and offered to pass feedback on to his team and offered to re-test my car free of charge.
I did take my car for a second opinion at a different garage and had other repairs done at the second garage. The new mechanic confirmed that the seatbelt was not faulty, but just jammed.
I feel like more care and attention should be given as had I not have been so short on cash in the run up to Christmas, I would have paid for this to be repaired.
I also understand that even though the garage has no control of how much spare parts cost, I feel a bit of common sense could be applied when offering to fit a £500 part to car car worth barely 3 times that amount, without any attempt to go find the fault or repair the original part.
I have amended my review from one star to 3 stars based on this update

Slow but got there

Took longer than it should have done. When I asked when it would be ready I was told it was done yet still took another 30 minutes to get car back. Not very good for an appointment system. When driving away noticed tyre was inflated to 54psi instead of 33psi. This is potentially dangerous on wet or slippery road surface.

Appalling service

Appalling service. Booked to have 3 tyres changed at 08:30. Was told to arrive 15 minutes early so was there by 8:15 to find the door locked. Stood around until 8:35 despite multiple members of staff seeing me through the glass door. Finally the female member of staff opened the lock door but just turned around and walked to the counter. How hard would it have been to open the door? I advised I was there for a tyre change (which I’d book well in advance) to be told “the tyres aren’t here”. I questioned how that could be to be told dismissively “because they haven’t arrived”. I was told to come back at 10:30 for the next delivery which I declined and said I’d have alternative tyres instead. I was then told they only had 2 tyres in stock to fit my car. That I’d have to paid for those again and wait for head office to refund me for the 3 I’d already paid for. I declined and asked that she phone to find out if my tyres were on the 10:30 delivery. She then went to speak to someone else who told her that the tyres that I’d ordered were infact on the shelf!!! No apology. The way I was spoken to was completely unacceptable, rude and dismissive. Not to mention being in front of two other customers. I was told my tyres would be done in 45 minutes and I confirmed which 3 I wanted changing. I duly came back 45 minutes later to have to wait a further 45 minutes for the tyres to be ready. Only to find that they’d changed one of the wrong tyres. Utterly useless. No apology. No customer service. They couldn’t care less. It’s such a shame as I’ve used this garage for over 10 years and the previous two people who’d manned front of house couldn’t be more helpful. Won’t be returning.

MOT Booked and paid for in advance service

Booked and paid for in advance, an interim service and MOT on the 20th of September 20th, for October 20th, so a month in advance.

Received a phone call on the afternoon of October 14th, informing me there was no-one able to carry out my MOT on the Sunday 20th, and they could only offer times that were not convenient and a weekend date, post my MOT running out, which was no good.

They proceeded to inform me the internet system can't see their rotas, and they look at internet orders a week before!

Don't offer the service of pre-booking an MOT in advance if it cannot be guarenteed.

Left me with hassle and stress to resolve, when I have a very busy week. I have used the same garage for years, so has my partner and kids. We won't be doing going forwards.

On time, good price, careful mechanic

I have just used F1 Autocentre in Nottingham for the first time for my MOT and was completely happy with the service. I got a discount through Petrol Prices and had to ring F1 to confirm the time for the service, but when I got there the car was taken in straight away. There is a waiting room and toilet and you can look down on where the mechanic is doing the work and he seemed very thorough. It only took 45 minutes. Luckily the car passed with a clean bill of health, but I would happily go back to this garage for an MOT or other work

Nicol on reception was brilliant

Nicol on reception was brilliant. I was in a hurry to watch a cricket World Cup match. She dealt with my tyre change really quickly and I got home in time. She was friendly and very helpful all the way through. I will definitely return to the Nottingham branch for future tyre needs.

Avoid these COWBOYs services. Worst ever experience

You can only go there for puncture tyre and avoid their service at any cost!!!!!!! My story: I got Maserati Levante and came up regular service message to change oil. Soon after message appears, car goes in limp mode and you have to barely drivable car take to service and can’t ignore it as it simply doesn’t drive. This is how Maseratis made. But Maserati dealer charges £750😱 I can afford it to have 19th plate car and can afford go to their service, but for me it’s a matter of principle not to do so: I won’t pay £650 for 1 hour labour. Contacted their branch in Queens Court in Lenton, they charge £190 for replacement of oil, filter and clearing a message and get back car to normal. Took there on agreed day in the morning. All day no call from garage, had other car and was nearby, so at 5.30pm went there. Car was done long time ago, given back keys, paid £190 as agreed, but then was told they couldn’t access car compute an only dealer can do that. They tried 3 computers with no luck. Then WHY I was charged full price, what is a point of change oil, if car is in same undrivable condition??? By the way later that week took it to other good local garage, everything was accessed and fixed, but they only carry service if they change oil and this way give warranty. So £190 dow a drain, new oil was still replace and everything successfully fixed. And ITS NOT ALL: luckily from Formula One to my house and later to other garage is total of around 10 mile, because they found that those USLESS Formula mechanics FORGOT to screw back oil filling cap on engine (it was on front plastic panel above radiator under bonnet). Luckily they couldn’t fix my car, otherwise had long journey next week, during which I would splash all oil out, ruin engine and stop somewhere on motorway. And now only driven 10 miles. Had contacted head office, after 2 emails I am completely ignored, wanted at least my £190 back, but still nothing. Now I have 19th plate Maserati, with whole engine covered in oil (obviously it’s impossible to clean it all), ruined my driveway with oil stains and no apology or money back. Avoid these COWBOYS at any cost!!!!!!!!
