I have used this garage for several years but the last two times I have been told I need a new battery as the battery was only showing 43% charge so I had a new battery fitted then t took the car back after 6 months for a service and was told that this battery needed replacing as it was at 33% charge with this I took the car to a independent garage who tested the battery and was told there was nothing wrong with the battery and the health check showed 95% .
Don’t take their word for it have things double checked.

I took in my car for some diagnostic work and was told it was 85 pounds per hour. I'm quite happy to pay that with the expense of labour and equipment etc. After a while I received a call saying another 3 hours diagnostic work was required at 85 pounds per hour. When I asked why there was such a length of time in diagnosing a relatively straightforward problem I was fed with the most elaborate story of how the car had to go on a "scope" and all manner of algebraic equations had to be used to diagnose the frequency of rotation of various pulleys. I listened to this complete dribble then pointed out that I was a fully qualified mechanic with 30 years experience and only retired due to disability and was therefore unable to do the physical work myself. I confronted the senior mechanic and he went to pieces. I then gave him a full and detailed explanation of crankshaft to pulley relationships and how rotational speed is affected and how an intermittent noise can not be diagnosed by assessing rotation frequency and also gave a full and detailed explanation of the reasons why. Anyone using fitch autos beware. They are dishonest. I have recorded the conversation on my phone and it is being sent to trading standards first thing on Monday morning. Do not use fitch autos.
