Giverny

We went to Giverny to visit the home and magnificent Gardens of Monet. Serge our guide went out of his way to point out beautiful places on the way to Giverny and back. He was a fountain of interesting information and gave us a guided tour of the home before giving us plenty of free time to roam the gardens. I highly recommend the tour.

I do not recommend

I do not recommend In July I booked a cruise on the Seine from them. it was just before the Olympics, a lot of organizational changes in the city. the office itself changed its location all the time, until the very last moment before the trip I was there much earlier, apparently they sent an employee, the cruise took place, we didn't take advantage.... the money was lost, the office admitted that it changed the place at the last minute, and yet it does not accept the complaint

Non so corretti

Prenotato cena con vivo in battello sulla Senna. Nave vecchia, posti a tavola senza privacy, cibo mediocre. Chiediamo una bottiglia di vino che sulla carta costa 3 euro in più rispetto a quello inserito nel menù. Alla fine ci chiedono di pagare un sovrapprezzo di 10 euro insinuando che la suddetta modifica è soggetta a non si sa quali sopra costi. Dopo una sana litigata abbiamo pagato solo quanto dovuto. Ma il concetto di trasparenza??

I don’t recommend this company

I don’t recommend this company. I paid more for a small group trip to Mont St Michel from Paris. What I got was a cramped ride in a minivan with 8 paying guests and a driver for 8 hours! No wifi, bench seats with no seat back pockets so no place to put your water bottle or purse. Seats were worse than economy class airline and middle seats had no arm rests. I would have been more comfortable in a bus but apparently if they do t have 20 guests or more, this is what you end up with. The driver confirmed this is not unusual. Also, the van had its red service light on from start to finish. Now I know why they cost slightly less than the others. I will not use them again and neither should you!

Avoid this company

Avoid this company. They offer popular destinations that other companies offer but do not provide any guides. I booked two tours with them and both were disappointing. The first one was the half day Giverny tour with minivan. There was no tour guide with us. It was just a driver who drove us there, gave us the tickets, and told us where to meet when done. No other information provided, no audio guides or anything. We drove through lovely villages and again no information provided at all about the area’s geography or history. Complete silence. Gardens and house were beautiful but I didn’t feel that we learned anything. Our second tour was a day trip to Mt St Michel. Again, no guide. Just a driver. At least on this one, the driver provided some brief history of the Abbey and walked all the way up with us to the entrance. But the 6 hour drive round trip was completely silent. The drive is beautiful and the site is breathtaking. It’s just disappointing to go all the way to these beautiful destinations and not learn about them. There are other companies out there. Avoid this one.

Do not use this company for ANYTHING

Do not use this company for ANYTHING. They claim to have excellent customer service. We were scheduled for a dinner cruise on July 1 and we could not make it thanks to CDG airport losing our luggage. I tried calling and texting the numbers on the ticket. NO ONE ANSWERS!!! Could not reschedule today because they said I had missed the deadline to cancel. I called by the deadline. No one answers and my file number could not be found when I went to search. The woman on the other end of the phone had the nerve to say “You missed it. We did not receive anything from you.” And then had the nerve to tell me I probably dialed another number. So how did I get her today using the same number? Total loss $108E. They won’t get anymore of my money and I will put this review wherever anyone can find it!!

I totally recommend it. It was excellent

I took a package of 3 activities: Dinner in Pocople, Night Bus Tour and Moulin Rouge. I was a bit concerned by the bad reviews I read here and the cheap price of the package, but I have to say everything was good. We didn’t have any problem at all and we enjoyed a great offer, for the money of 1 activity we did 3! Super recommended.

Please avoid this company at all costs

Please avoid this company at all costs! They refuse to offer refunds despite the coronavirus. My flight and cruise have been cancelled and there is no way for me to get to France from the US and yet they won't issue me a mere $25 refund.

Avoid this company at all costs

We paid €269 each for a New Year’s Eve dinner cruise on board Boreas through France Tourisme. What an utter waste of money!!
We received an email on the 27th December and again on the morning of the 31st informing us to expect transport delays due to the strikes and to make sure we arrived on time as the boat would not wait and there would be no refunds. We arrived at 7.30 as instructed to find the boat was not even open. After 5 mins they opened the doors but then spent 10 mins putting the ramp up. It was a bitterly cold night and people were shivering as they waited on the quay.
We eventually got on board at 7.45pm but did not depart until 9.45pm, 45 minutes later than promised. This was because the captain/owner waited for late comers to arrive.
As a result of our late departure we only saw 8 out of the promised 35 bridges and not the scenic route past Notre Dame. We saw industrial buildings, cement works etc etc. We were back on the quay for 11.15.
As for the food, well, what a disappointment! The Demi Langoustine looked amazing when they were brought them to the table but were absolutely inedible, chewy and so so over cooked. Our main course of fillet steak did not arrive until 11.40pm, just before were we hoping to go outside to see in the new year. The steak although tasty, was stone cold. We did not receive a second glass of champagne at midnight as advertised or a coffee. When we asked for a bottle of champagne they brought the card machine and refused to honour the agreement. This was all very embarrassing.
The photograph of the boat is nothing like reality. There were no round tables, only square or rectangular ones packed in like sardines. My friend kept knocking elbows with the gentleman on his right as the tables were so close!
I contacted France Tourisme who told me they had sent my complaint to the company. Three days later I had not heard anything so messaged again only to be told that the short voyage was due to the Seine being flooded so the boat could not go under the bridges. This was rubbish! There were many boats going in the other direction.
I have contacted my credit card company and hope they will take this up as it was an utter rip off. France Tourisme could not be more helpful or obliging when they first rang to see why I had not completed my booking online. Penelope sounded a trustworthy sort and spoke very good English but has not replied to my email as requested. We did not receive what was advertised and paid for and as a consequence we should be offered a partial refund at least.

Misleading ads and poor service

Misleading ads and poor service; purchased a ticket which was not honored at the provider; when asked for a refund was told they could not give a refund; when asked for a credit for future, was told they could not do this either. Essentially just took my money for nothing. Highly recommend you avoid using them at all, other companies offer better service with less risk

Strict Cancellation Penalties

We used this site to book a night-time trip on the River Seine. However, 5 days before we were due to arrive in Paris the French Train staff (SCNF) decided to start industrial action resulting in a 'modified' Eurostar timetable which, in turn, meant we could not travel to Paris as planned.

So, why only two stars? France Tourisme has a cancellation policy buried away in their terms and conditions.

More than 48 hours from departure day or day of performance : refund 80% from the total amount.
Between 24 and 48 hours from departure day or day of performance : refund 60% from the total amount.
Less than 24 hours from departure day or day of performance : no refund.

Now, I can understand that most companies have a cancellation policy, but a minimum 20% penalty does seem a bit harsh.

My suggestion, to anyone wanting to book with France Tourisme, is to wait until you get into the country or make sure you are fully aware of their terms and conditions (listed under 'General Sales Conditions' right at the bottom of their web page.
