We sell proper cheese, done right: carefully chosen artisan cheeses from Yorkshire, the UK and further afield, cut to order by people who genuinely know and love what they’re selling. Whether you’re after something for a Friday night cheeseboard, a dinner party, a gift, a wedding cheese tower or just a really good piece of Cheddar, we’ll help you find the right cheese rather than just point you at a counter. The business was founded by Stephen Fleming in 2012 and has been serving cheese lovers from its Chapel Allerton shop since 2013. Over the years, George & Joseph has become known for friendly advice, excellent cheese, personal service and a proper understanding of how cheese should be cut, stored, served and enjoyed. As well as our shop, we sell online for UK-wide delivery, offer local delivery and click-and-collect, and run cheese tastings, private events, corporate gifts and cheese celebration cakes. We also work with customers who want help building the perfect cheeseboard, pairing cheese with wine, beer or crackers, or choosing something a bit more interesting than the usual supermarket selection. Our aim is simple: to make great cheese more enjoyable, more accessible and less intimidating. Proper cheese, chosen well, cut well and served with good advice.

Purchased a small celebration cheese birthday cake and pork pie for my other half's birthday as he isn't a fan of usual cake. Teamed up with yorkshire pickle and chilli jam. The perfect combination and alternative for any cheese and pork pie lover! Everything delivered fresh, well packaged and kept cool during delivery. Tastes amazing and great quality. Will deffo recommend and order from here again!
Bought some Buffalo Blue cheese. Received an email saying that it was out of stock and I could either wait a few days longer or to receive an alternative. Due to travelling, I did see the email and when the cheese arrived it was labelled with a hand written note with the cheese I had bought. However, several friends and I have come to the conclusion that it was NOT what I bought and that I had been sent a generic cheese, hoping that I wouldn’t notice.
