GO Outdoors - MetroCentre Opiniones 

Im not one for shopping, especially at this time of year as often the sound of people shouting and stamping their feet, yelling at their partners and generally driving like maniacs keeps me at home. Last week I braved the metrocentre in the evening to buy my partner a warm winter coat.

The Go Outdoors shop was thankfully quiet and empty apart from a young man, Tom, chatting to a customer at the till.

The gentleman Tom was chatting to was speaking in a loud voice, his trousers were held up with string and as I approached I could see that this fella was finding life tough.

Tom was chatting animatedly, fully aware that this man was in the shop for warmth, light and human connection. If I was to talk to any of my colleagues and friends about the true meaning of Christmas it was Tom giving this man his time, attention and care.

Ive talked about Tom and his kindness this week when talking about relational strategic change... It's all about how we foster relationships, care for ourselves and others.

I hope Go Outdoors realises the importance of the gesture of kindness that I saw that evening and how the coat I bought to keep my partner warm will be long gone before I forget Tom's compassion.

James was brilliant, absolute credit to the store.James had all the knowledge and helped with sizing and even shown us the best way to lace up the boot. If it wasn’t for James we would have been buying the wrong size boots again.

Very helpful staff member Daniel gave super advice and saved me trying to work out what were the best options for me and my travels - new boots, thick socks, gloves etc, plus advice on waterproof over trousers. After this pleasant service I will be going back in future.

Tom was brilliant and very knowledgeable. I thought I knew what I wanted - pair of walking shoes - Tom took me though all options and price ranges before I made my purchase. An assist to your business in the Metro Centre.

I lost my card after purchasing a coat from gateshead metro centre I think I left it in disability scooter I had hired as I cannot easily return to store I asked for replacement on line they cant do this apparently the card scheme is a con avoid this company
great responsev here the reason for review was your customer service is rubbish you will not post a card I have to go to store 220 miles from where I live

I had a one off situation, a tad too complicated to go into about a health issue, but the staff was so helpful with this American. Great price too!

Found exactly what I wanted for a very good price

I visited Go Outdoors in the Metro Centre to get some new hiking shoes. My existing ones were starting to show the effects of the 3000 miles or so of use. James did an excellent job of listening to my intended use and studying the shape of my feet. I have already done about 15 miles in my new shoes and am delighted with the shoes he sold me.

Really helpful advice from Coby. Great lad and gave loads of advice on what the best stuff is for going hiking.

Thank you Lewi and Becca for your help. First time buying mountain boots and I did not know where to start. Lewi was kind enough to show me around and tried on the first pair he recommended. He also demonstrated the best way to tie the lace and matched it with a pair of thick hiking socks. Thank you for being so helpful and patient.

Great customer service at metro centre can’t remember girls name but so helpful

As a first time customer to Go Outdoors at the Metro centre, we had first class, sevice from James. Very knowledgeable and helpful regarding footwear as well as other products.

We went to buy waterproof and warm coat for my wife not knowing really what to look for. Andi and Izzy came over and asked if they could help us out. We told them what we were looking for and they gave is a lot of great advice in what to look for and the pro's and con's of the different types of outerwear. They told us what care was needed for waterproof when cleaning and what was needed to be done to maintain the coat's waterproofing. We narrowed down the make of coat we wanted and with their advice the size. Then after we had a coffee to think over the decision we went back to the shop and bought the coat. Andi and Izzy were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable and made lots of time for us without which we would not have made the best choice.

Lovely young sales assistant at metro centre store. Very pleasant and helpful.

Staff were super helpful and friendly quality ballistic rucksack/bag ideal for 4 or 5 days away and easy to organise within and acts as a rucksack so ideal for travel on train or coach

Assistant (Andi) in boot dpt v knowledgeable and helpful. Didn't rush me :)
