I have to sue them
I have to sue them! My secretary left our organization and took the admin info with her. This company's customer service is the worst. They refuse to give me back my corporate phone number or access to the company phone system. These insist I provide them with information I do not have. Consumers should be very careful about using their services because if you have someone leave your company and they refuse to give you the password, you are in real trouble. They will not accept any of the corporate documents I have offered to show them.

A real deal (after a bumpy start)
I’ll be upfront: when I first signed up for Grasshopper, I was ready to cancel and left a 1-star review. The interface is not the best part of their service. It felt clunky and outdated, and setting everything up was way harder than it needed to be. I was genuinely frustrated.
But the customer support is just great.
I ended up speaking with support 5 or 6 times, and every single person I talked to was sharp, patient, and knew exactly what they were doing. No hold music, no “your call is very important to us” nonsense, no chat with Pakistan. Within two minutes I was always on the phone with a live American rep who walked me through every step until the issue was 100% fixed. They didn’t rush me off the line they stayed until it actually worked.
Yes, the user interface still isn’t the prettiest part of the service. But the customer support is really helpful
And here’s the cherry on top: for the price, Grasshopper gives you way more than anyone else. Free users, free extensions, and actual step-by-step help all for very little money. It does take some time to get everything dialed in, but once it’s set up… it just works. Great!!?
I’ve tried Quo, Zoom Phone, Google Voice, and a bunch of others. None of them even come close to the combination of real human support and overall value that Grasshopper delivers.
If you’re okay investing a little time upfront (and you know you can call support if you get stuck), Grasshopper is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend.

Terrible experience – impossible to cancel and still being charged
I had an extremely frustrating experience with Grasshopper.
First, their cancellation process is unnecessarily complicated. They require you to submit a reason online, generate a case number, and then call in to actually cancel. Even after doing all that, I had to go through multiple automated prompts before finally reaching someone who could help.
By the time I got through, our phone number had already been ported to another provider, meaning Grasshopper was no longer providing any service. Despite that, they continued to charge us.
When I asked for a refund for the months we were not using the service, I was told the representative “did not have the option” to issue one. So not only were we billed for a service we weren’t using, but there was also no resolution offered.
This process feels intentionally difficult and not customer-friendly. If a number is ported out, the account should be automatically canceled, or at the very least, billing should stop.
Overall, very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this service.

They will sell your number to spam caller lists
Terrible customer service and an even worse phone provider. Save your money and get a phone number from another company. They sell your number and private data to telemarketers. 53 spam calls in 12 days yet I only had 3-4 in the other 10 months I had the service?? And they refuse to cancel the line even when asked to.

This review is not based on the actual product, more so fine print after signing up. Please read so it doesn’t happen to you.
I signed up because I wanted a simple phone greeting and then options 1,2,3 etc. Package choices wasn’t clear, so I picked the lowest package (paid full year), it said i needed to upgrade to get the options. So i called support, and they told me if i upgrade it will be effective on the next billing cycle… my billing cycle is a year.. because i paid a full year… if i cancel it will effective on the next billing cycle… which is a year… so, i paid $167 for a product thats useless to me. My number is already being transferred/ported to them, and i cant do anything for ONE YEAR!
*UPDATE*
After calling back and speaking to another rep (last rep wasn’t trained properly and gave me wrong information), he was able to help me with the correct information without upgrading. I can now use the service as i needed. I’ll give 2 stars back, but things aren’t fully clear when signing up.

Canceling Grasshopper is a nightmare! 30 Minutes+ and must be done on the phone
Canceling your subscription will take 20-30 minutes and you will have to deal with an online Ai assistant first - then call an 800 number and get bounced around a couple times - then finally you get a human (a nice human) who offers two other options. 30 minutes is unacceptable for a business owner. Waste of time - should be automated (especially since this is a tech company). Service was fine, but this experience is not. I will never use Grasshopper or any of their other services again. And I will actively, loudly share this unacceptable experience with other business owners so they can avoid Grasshopper. Do better. Automate it. Full stop.

A colossal waste of time and money
It was a long drawn out process to get grasshopper working and then we try to get the text messaging. Every time you apply there's a fee you have to pay. We applied three times before we finally got it. We've had it working for about one day and now grasshopper canceled my account. They say it's an internal reason and they won't tell me what that is. I am done with him. What a waste of time and money.

Id give it less than a star if I could. I have been trying to cancel my service for almost a year now. Every time I call I get the message that the wait time is less than 5 minutes and each time I've waited as long as Ive been able to....up to over an hour once
No one ever picks up and there is no way to cancel this service unless someone picks up the call

What a mistake I made going with…
What a mistake I made going with grasshopper. They make you pay a year and tell you 7 to 10 business days to port.
After 10 days I called to find out why it's not ported and they never sent a letter to the provider another week goes by and they told me to call my provider because they refused it. I call my provider and they tell me they never received it so now I have to call GRASSHOPPER back and then they send it over and I have to wait another two days then they’re trying to set me up and they couldn’t set me up and that took another 45 days and now I want to cancel and they tell me I can’t cancel because I ordered it on January 7 and I only had seven days to cancel, but they didn’t get it up for 23 days. Then I had a few days of problems that it wasn’t the phone wasn’t working and now they won’t give me my money back because I could only cancel with seven days what an horrible company and a horrible horrible customer service do not go there now I’m getting charges at four dollars a month that I have no idea what it’s for stay away.
