Undoubtedly one of the best shops I've visited. The staff go the extra mile, and choice of livestock from TMC is awesome. Loads of dry goods to choose from and great advice. Well worth a visit.

Poor customer service. Emailed querying when my order would be dispatched, wasn't pushy just wanted to know, website states same day dispatch when ordered before noon, I ordered at 7am and heard nothing about dispatch. Got a snotty and rude reply stating that same day dispatch doesn't happen in a pandemic...... Take the claim off your website then. Won't be using again!

Ordered some sand, rock and salt from this supplier. Order was delayed due to bad weather which is no one's fault. When this arrived the rock was missing and the tub of salt badly damaged. Called the shop and spoke to one of the rudest gentleman I have ever had the displeasure of speaking too. He started telling that I haven't read my order confirmation correctly and that the rock hadn't been sent before even taking any details from me. He was speaking in very aggressive and rude tone and instantly put me in bad mood when I am already worrying about nearly £100 of rock that is missing. When he eventually took the time to even listen to me he then saw the rock should have been delivered and said this happens and should turn up in 72 hours. Also offered me £5 back on my tub of salt for the heavy damage to and I quote "save them a tenner on getting it sent back after I have accepted an order that I shouldn't have". This is my first time setting up a marine tank and this experience has really put a damper on something I was really excited about. The way I rate a company's customer service is the way they speak to you if you have an issue. No understanding, no empathy and no time was taken to listen to what I had to say. It has to be one of the worst interactions I have ever had with a company. One thing is for sure I will be taking my business else where in future, nobody wants to be spoken to like that and especially not when you have just paid a company alot of money. They have now become the first company I will actively discourage people from purchasing from in the future.

I just rang h20 13.15 today and guy not helpful wanted to purchase fancy reef rock big order asked basic question how much does piece weight in or can send me a picture via email.

Told me to go elsewhere to buy from a store.

Don't want my money will take elsewhere rubbish.

Ordered, delivered quickly and on time.
Good price for the pump, let's hope it's quieter than the pump that came with my fluval spec.

However, the person handling emails at H2o needs customer service training, very abrupt and not helpful.
Was trying to get to the bottom of a missing delivery. After some email exchanges it turns out they had made a typo error on my email address that led to me not receiving tracking info, something I had been telling them from the start of the exchange.
I was called 'rude' and asked not to contact them again.
What??
Very bizzare... Spoiled an otherwise good experience.

Worst customer service I’ve ever known. They lied about posting my order then when I caught them on the lie they claimed my wife must be cheating on me or was too lazy to answer the door!!! Didn’t give his name but I suspect he didn’t go to finishing school! If he isn’t the owner and I hope for the businesses sake he isn’t he needs to go on a course or something!

Rubbish customer service. They send the wrong items, and then argue they sent the right thing. Don't support this retailer. They are unethical and arrogant. Never do business with them again!

I used to buy from H2O (though never my preferred place) on occasion but will never again after my last experience. As others have said they are rude, unprofessional, abrupt and have aggressive undertones to their correspondence when things go wrong, they lie and fob you off. You have to chase and chase them and they will just lead you a song and dance. 1 star is too good for them and in my view they shouldn't be in business, it's as simple as that.

Anyone can sell online but sorting issues out with a good aftersales and care is where a business forms lasting customer relationships. This business has failed me on this regard and countless others it seems. Read the reviews here and elsewhere they all follow a similar tone. I will never ever buy from them again. The last time was 2 years ago and it seems the haven't changed...why would they?

If you get an issue that needs to be escalated you will get issues. They don't sign their emails off, they just end abruptly so you have no idea who to contact again or who you were speaking to in the first place. Call me old fashioned but there’s no excuse for not stating "kind regards, whoever" even if its from "customer support"...though I doubt this lot have ever put those words together.

My item had to be sent back to the manufacture in Europe and this lot held on to it for weeks after I sent it back.

The manufacturer (MF) via their support desk contacted me asking me where it was and this is where my issues stemmed from. For several weeks I thought the item was back with the MF until they contacted me as described.

H2O lied to me and said the manufacturer was on summer break when I queried it yet the MF stated they were back from it weeks ago and were expecting the item back. It was a huge fiasco, I don't often get mad but this lot pushed me right to the edge, utterly unprofessional, you're treated with contempt.

Your order might go well but if you get issues you may well pay the price. The wonderful 5 stars they've got are very likely from loyal, long term local customers. Just bare this in mind when assessing them before your purchase. Analyse their actions and temperament displayed in other peoples poor reviews and decide if this is appropriate behaviour that people you're thinking of or have given your money to should be displaying.

I would suggest avoid them online.

P.S the live rock I bought them them was really dense, non porus crap. The only thing I got from it was bubble algae and bryopsis. Which cost me £60 to sort out.

Long story cut short - I had a dispute regarding the delivery of a item, it took 4 weeks to arrive and when I requested around they refused.

As I was displeased I posted feedback on their Facebook page, to which their response was to publically post a copy of my invoice clearly displaying my full name, address and email address, clearly they do not respect their customers personal data. Needless to say I am going down a formal route to report this incident.

I felt it my duty to inform potential customers how they could be treated.

They are clueless. They don't even know what they are advertising on their own site. The title for some Tubing said 3m and then on the description it says its sold by the metre. So I emailed to ask them is it 3m or the 1metre and the response is read the website again it does not say that. Clearly it does say that or I wouldn't email. Sent a screenshot to prove it. Think they are smart and know everything. Rude very rude! Don't waste your money here.

Update - when I checked the website the next day. They had corrected their error on the website, so clearly it did have a error or they wouldn't have changed the description 😂

I agree with other bad reviews about these people . Very Rude and not helpful at all .i asked a simple question about a product . And they could not even be bothered to help me ...shame as I was going to buy a few bits from them .. but there loss !!!

I have been using H2O for a long while now, mainly via their online shop, I have also visited a few time and Rachel and Jon have a vast array of dry goods as well as an excellent selection of fish and coral. they have always had time for me and are very knowledgeable.

Fantastic shop, always full of amazing stock and new one off pieces. Staff are always welcoming and very helpful. Highly recommended 🐡🐠🐟🦀

Absolutely amazing shop, have been there since day one when entering into marine fish keeping, Rachel and Jon are really friendly and have always got enough time for me to browse and ask questions. Would recommend to anyone wanted to steer away from commercialised pet shops and get a really personal experience.
