If you're looking for constant run around and to be on your own when the time comes for lawsuits, then Heartland is the way to go. Retainer fees for what? Because they do not retain you any kind of legal representation. The so-called lawyers don't get assigned to your case, they get to pick if they want them so if no one picks up your case, you're on your own. What the hell kind of "legal group" does business that way? They just take your money illegally by fees that THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO TAKE UNTIL A SETTLEMENT HAS BEEN MADE (FTC law) so you have no money built up for a long time. Therefore, your accounts get nothing for a long time. Do your due diligence and research and find a legitimate debt settlement company that doesn't prey on people during some of the worst times of their lives.

This has been the most unprofessional and pathetic company that I have ever had to deal with. They have lied to me several times and not once did they help me with my creditors. It is a horrible program and in my opinion a very dishonest company. Do not give them your business. Go with "anyone" else.

Horrible company.
They claim the first settlement in 7 to 9 months yet took my money for 18 months and didn't settle one debt.
I tried to reach a manager for 7 months and could not get anybody to return my calls.
They actually refuse to tell me the contact information for my negotiator and lawyer representation.
My creditors ended up taking me to court and this company caused me further financial distress.
I would not trust or use this company.

They never answer ,no mach.... they dont send over power of atty to creditors .... very sad..... save your money and nog yourself !!!!

I've been with Heartland Legal Services since October 2019. My journey has been a reasonably good one; as soon as something unusual occurs, I get in touch with Client Services; and counsel and guidance is given. The journey continues and I continue to look forward for guidance and direction. God bless.

Trust is key in any kind of business, even raising a child.

I have been paying over $550.00 a month I enrolled 5 accounts in this program, one which I was only 2000 dollars. I have been in the program for over 7 months. If you add that up it = trash I could have just saved for a cpl months and just paid the debt in full myself what are you doing with my money

I am still too early in the process, but every time that I have to call CS - they are great - today was Tyler - he was very nice and attentive. I can think of many other companies that need his active listening skills. I really appreciate them touching base with me through this process.

Pleas save yourself some heart ache and money. They charge you about 25% of what you owe. Put you on a payment plan that allows them to take 85% up front for doing nothing then banks 15% for you to pay off your creditors. So out of the monthly payments I had $50 dollars going into my account. The people on the phone are very well trained crafty. Never can give you an update, just keep putting you off. I want to show my statements but I can’t post a picture

Very confused and not real pleased. I have to stay on top of them. Their portal does not work to "upload" the documents you get from creditors as their welcome packet instructs you to do. I have been number one on hold for 30 minutes. They settled on two and I am trying to find out about all of these added charges. Upside, I will probably receive a cookie cutter response on here like everyone else and all the emails they inundate me with is probably what I am being charged for in fees.

Heartland I hope you read this and respond. I have been with your program for about 14 months now. I have seen no actions. I recently do a summons from one of my creditors and contacted you several time over the last 2 months all I get is someone will return a call and no one returns the call. Every time I send a email to customer support I get a response to call customer support I do and get told someone will call me and that never happens. I should of done my homework and not signed with you from all the negative reviews. And I also see you respond to positive review publicly but never see any response on negative reviews. If you are a liget company you can at least respond.

I have sent numerous faxes dealing with one of my creditors and with the last one, I called after I sent it, was told that it was received and now the have nothing about it.

Customer Service has been great! However, my negotiator Chris has been a nightmare! I paid lump sums to pay off 3 debts on Feb 1st. Today is Mar 25th and even after calling every week, asking for supervisors, being told the negotiator Chris is working on it...NONE of my debts have been paid in full! I am soooo frustrated! I have still made my monthly payments so nothing can be said about my payments. All I am asking is for my debt to be settled. I thought that is what they do!

Heartland representatives are friendly and helpful. They take the time to offer useful solutions and explain different options clearly. Great program for getting your debt under control!

BEWARE! While they are patient and accommodating on the customer service ends, the debt negotiation side that leads to settlement with creditors leave much to be desired. After enrolling 8+ of my creditors accounts in the program, they only settled one 2 accounts in 15 months. The initial person I spoke with regarding the program told me I should see an improvement in my credit scores within 18-24 months. I don’t see how this is possible since only 2 accounts were settled. Also, Heartland builds the bulk of their fees for their services into the front end of your payment plan so it really prohibits them from negotiating until your escrow account funds are built up. I made approx $5k in payments in 14 months, they settled $500 in debt and the rest was for their “fees.”After being laid off twice, thanks to Covid, I ended up canceling my agreement and am pursuing other legal action. I would not recommend this program based on my experience, very disappointed.

Heartland Legal Group has been a real life-saver for me and taken great weight off my shoulders. When credit debt got to be too much for me to handle on my own, they stepped in to help. Help they do and have. I've found their customer service team more than kind, and always patient with any questions that may come to mind. Thanks to everyone at Heartland Legal.

Heartland has been nothing but helpful! I was nervous from day 1. On several occasions I called in to leave the program. The reps understood and listened to me. They never stopped me but instead talked me through my anxiety. I am thankful I stayed. Best advice is give it 12 months min. and when feelings of anxiety happen call Heartland to speak with a rep. I was so nervous waiting to see activity. Waiting is hard. Remember you must make payments so there is money available to negotiate a great settlement. I saw activity on month 7, which is exactly what I was told. I was so pleased by the settlements. I claimed 5 debits. Any smaller ones I did not claim, I took care of on my own. Heartland was honest about what to expect from my claimed debits. These creditors WANT their money which is why expect non-stop calls and communication from debit holders until settlements established. I just made sure they were aware via emails and mail BUT not by a call. My last contact happened month 8 came via mail. Lean on Heartland for advice that is what they do besides settle debit. Receiving the communication was extremely exhausting but not as hard as scrapping together payments and still never getting ahead. Heartland was the best resolution by far. At this time in my reconstruction, I have made 8 continuous payments with #9 due in 16 days. I have made one extra fund payment and saving to make another soon. In my case, I will be enrolled for 24 months. RELIEF! This nightmare will all be over in 12-14 months. We have made a commitment to NOT spend unless really necessary which has happened once. Praying my expenses stay low. I am so blessed to have found Heartland and not sure how it happened but definitely BLESSED!!!
