Incorrect information given
I ordered a game for my son’s birthday that I needed in 8 days time from ordering (on 3/10/25) I was told it would be available within 2 days. On the 11th I went in store to ask if an email hadn’t been sent and was told, no game in. I had to rush out to another game shop to buy another game so he could have it. I would have got it from Amazon if I thought there would be this much stress, but I wanted to keep buying locally. Disappointed is not the word I would use

Broken headphones and rubbish policies
Bought bluetooth headphones online, only left one works. Checked return policy - online orders can't be refunded, and even if they could, opened items cant be refunded; how am I meant to know it's broken if I'm not supposed to open it? Genuinely useless, waste of money and policies that protect profit not customers.

Glad HMV's still going
I use Bristol and Birmingham stores, and I'm really glad they exist. Being able to visit somewhere where I can browse, look at various titles, and purchase physical media is important to me. Also if your local store doesn't have a title in, you can buy it online and collect it from your local store without any extra cost.

Great customer service in store
Popped into the local HMV store to buy some DVDs and happened to mention to the lady serving me that their website had failed to take payment the day before. She said she'd pass that on, and asked if I knew she could order stuff instore for me. Then she patiently checked if everything I wanted was in stock in her store and online, and did the online order. Picked it up by click and collect a few days later.

Great service!
The cashier was really kind and we had a chat about the album that I had purchased, overall, the service was amazing and the delivery was quick after the album had released.

Efficient order collection and lovely staff
I bought a vinyl that I then picked up from the store, they gave frequent updates on when it would be available to collect. Staff were super efficient and friendly, very pleased and will be using the collection service in the future.
