Paper statements not timely. Can't talk to manager
I am writing on behalf of my spouse who recently bought a new HRV ( her 4th Honda). The phone assistance is horrible. She has a history of making early payments and paying extra on the principal. However, she is not a computer person. She likes paper statements. She no longer receives them in a timely manner. Multiple phone calls to Honda Finance resulted in no positive results. I then called on her behalf with her present. We did get clarification and a solution but it was not easy. The representative was courteous but the information and systems she had to work with did not make this easy for her or us. Not her fault. However it was obvious that Honda is trying to get out of mailing statements and handling paper forms and checks. They want everything "electronic." That does not always work well for some people without extensive computer backgrounds, especially those 65+. So, I wanted to speak to a manager about the direction Honda is taking with statements and billing. I was told that, even though she had authorized me to assist her with payments and other issues on her behalf, a manager would not speak with me. If I cannot speak with management about issues with this account that make life difficult for her, when she is ready for another Honda ( #5) I will reminder her about her experiences with this vehicle (service is an issue for another day) and encourage her to buy an American owned company.

I would not use Honda Finance. The are expensive and now we know they are crooks.

trading in my Honda to another dealership, I received the receipt of electronic payment from the dealership. 5 days later, Honda has not processed my payment, their customer services department was rude and disrespectful and absolutely no help in tracking down the payment after I provided them with dates, amounts and account information. Jimena, located in Central Services Center, in Irving was especially rude and short with me. Her consistent response was to blame everyone else rather than doing her job. When asked to speak with a manager, she refused, when asked about getting information to file a complaint, she refused. POOR SERVICE. Congrats, you just lost a loyal Honda owner! UPDATE: Honda found my payment, but they are trying to figure out how to transfer the payment they received on 2/20/26 to the correct account! Fortunately for me, Honda is making an internal problem my problem and not resolving their mistake!

Taking a loan with Honda Finance was a mistake
Taking a loan with Honda Finance was a serious mistake. My experience with their customer service has been consistently hostile, dismissive, and deeply unprofessional. When I reached out during a period of financial hardship to ask for help or options, I was met with abusive language rather than support.
During one interaction, I was told I didn’t deserve my car, and shockingly, a representative suggested I should kill myself. There were additional comments so disturbing I won’t repeat them here. Instead of offering solutions or empathy, Honda Finance made it nearly impossible to recover or catch up during a difficult time.
No customer should ever be spoken to this way. I am actively seeking to refinance so I can end my relationship with this company. I strongly recommend others avoid Honda Finance based on my experience.
Electronic lien not released & no paper title
I have repeatedly attempted to resolve this issue with Honda for almost a year in multiple ways and I have yet to receive a supervisor call (now over a month since 9/3) to fully understand why my electronic lien can't be released when I have fully paid off the vehicle since 2022 and was told by a Honda representative that they had released my electronic lien and when I confirmed with VA DMV Honda had not released it.

I am writing to urgently request your assistance in resolving a long-standing issue regarding the title to my vehicle, a 2017 Honda Civic, VIN: XXXXXXXXHU230488, Account #:XXXXX7328. I paid off this vehicle in 2022 (see the attached documentation), yet I have still not received my physical title, and Honda Financial Services continues to not release my electronic lien from VA DMV.
I understand there was an issue with two lienholders being mistakenly listed on my account, which I was told has been corrected, and I was even told by Honda the electronic hold was removed on 8/12/2025. However, my electronic lien is still showing as active with the Virginia DMV, and despite repeated attempts to get clarity, no supervisor has contacted me to explain why the lien has not been released or why a physical title is needed by Honda if corrections have been made and just electronically release it, and my financial obligation was fully met over 3 years ago.
This unresolved issue has caused significant hardship. Since relocating from Virginia to Philadelphia and now back to Georgia, I have been unable to register or drive my car for nearly a year. As a result, I have incurred substantial transportation expenses, including Uber fares and other costs. I have also been waiting over two weeks for a supervisor to return my call to explain why the electronic lien can't be released.
I request that the following actions be taken immediately:
1. Honda Financial Services electronically releases the lien from the Virginia DMV system (code ETL81). Virginia DMV Electronic Lien Phone Number: (804) 367-9001.
2. That Honda begin taking steps to reimburse me for the documented expenses I have incurred as a direct result of Honda’s failure to release the lien or issue the physical title since the loan was paid in full in 2022 (I will provide receipts).
Please confirm receipt of this message and provide a timeline for resolution. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to seek legal assistance to recover both the title and the associated costs I have incurred. I have repeatedly called customer service for a supervisor callback since 9/3/2025, and have not been contacted.
Honda Finance deducted a payment after…
Honda Finance deducted a payment after the loan was paid in full. I went to Honda, and they told me it would take 2 days for a return. Honda Finance told me 3 weeks it would be returned. It does not take 3 weeks to process a return payment, and because of this, there will be no more interactions with Honda. They just do this for the interest.
Unreliable, based on one phone call.
Called Honda Financial not 15 minutes ago. The connection was super poor, I could only hear about 50 percent of the conversation, the employee said they could hear crystal clear.
I asked him to call me back, and he assured me that he would be calling me back.
He has not done as he promised.
Beware of Honda Financial Services
Beware of Honda Financial Services. Their offers may seem appealing when you’re buying a car, but once you sign, their only priority is money—not people.
I’ve reached out many times to explain my situation honestly, and instead of empathy or solutions, I’ve been met with insults, judgment, and repeated misinformation. On multiple occasions, agents have dismissed my circumstances, made inappropriate personal comments about my being single, and accused me of being reckless—all while I’ve done my best to stay in communication and make payments.
They’ve even suggested they “understand suicidal thoughts,” which is incredibly inappropriate and deeply harmful. I’ve kept them informed throughout, yet they leave voicemails claiming I haven’t. When I return the call, the support they promise simply isn’t there.
The limited phone-only access and narrow business hours feel like barriers meant to serve their agenda—not the customer’s reality.
This experience has felt discriminatory and dehumanizing. If you are considering Honda Financial Services—especially if you’re going through a difficult time or navigating life alone—I urge you to think twice. There is no compassion here, only collection.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. I spoke to Merces on May 25 who told me that she was just customers service and could not provide any information on how the interest was calculated. I was told that the financing was calculated as simple interest when I purchased the car.. This would mean that if I make a lump sum payment, my next monthly payment would have more go towards paying off the principal and less towards interest. This was not the case on my last payment
The person I spoke to said that I needed to speak to a financial advisor, that she was customer for Honda Finance and could not answer my questions regarding how the interest was calculated.

I just need to vent and warn anyone thinking about financing with Honda Financial Services: DO. NOT. DO. IT.
I financed a car through them—nearly $50,000, paid off in full after 4 years of ON-TIME payments. Not one missed or late payment. I was the model customer. And yet, almost TWO MONTHS later, I still don’t have my title.
I live in Minnesota, and they keep fumbling. First they said it wasn’t sent to Washington—why that matters, no idea. Then they claimed it wasn’t processed at all. And now? Now they’re saying I have to pay extra fees to request a duplicate title. Excuse me? You lost it and now I have to pay for it?
To make it worse, I waited 3 DAYS just to get a call back from a rep. And when they finally called, all they said was it’ll take another 4 WEEKS to request a duplicate title. Four more weeks. After two months. After four years of loyalty. Are you kidding me?
This is some of the highest-level incompetence I’ve ever experienced from a financial institution. Their system is broken. Their communication is trash. Their accountability is nonexistent. Their customer service is a complete joke.
So here’s the gripe:
Honda Financial Services has the poorest, slowest, most useless customer service I’ve ever had to deal with. If you’re thinking about financing through them—don’t. You’ll regret it when you need anything beyond paying your bill.

If payment due is on Friday and you make your payment on Friday which will be gone through on Monday and you will be charged a late fee because this greedy vampire company wants to receive their payment before due day. What an evil. I've been financed through different companies , banks , private lenders , credit unions for more than 10 car even tho I was late on my payment with others but american honda finance is the only one that acts like that. Real evil company real evil. Honda is a great car but american honda finance is an evil , thirsty for money and looking for every way to make you pay more than what you owe. Highly recommend not to be used. Go check their Google reviews how evil they are. Thousands of other consumers gave them 1 star. I will never ever use their bloody finance service again. I have never in all my 50 years dealt with more run around and thievery… this company has the most unprofessional and unfollow through of any company I have dealt with. And they are stealing my money and ruining my credit when I got a tag in another state even though that state said “no you don’t owe us any money” Honda is still charging me sales tax in 2 states.. called for over 3 weeks and no one will resolve this. What they should do is think about how they treat their clients. The customer service lady was very unprofessional over the phone. Horrible website. I had to wait over 2 months for my new vehicle to be added to my account so that I could make a payment. Everything was all around horrible. If Honda did not have the performance and reputation of long lasting life, I would not have went there in the first place if I had known things were going to be so difficult. The salesman was nice.

I was going to purchase a new Honda pilot, but not now!
Absolutely the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had! Never received my title, when I went to the clerks office to get a new one issued, they said Honda still had a lien against it.
However, he said that happens sometimes and lenders are quick to fax the lien release so the person can get a replacement title. Not Honda. You have to pay up to $60 for them to do the work they should’ve done anyway. And then it takes several days to receive it.
When I called customer service not only would a supervisor not come to the phone. I was told they never come to the phone and then I was hung up on. Under no circumstances well I ever buy a Honda, or have anything to do with Honda.
Honda Financial Services will punish…
Honda Financial Services will punish you if you miss a payment by removing the EasyPay feature and force you to go through the hassle of paying over phone via a debit card and pay an extra fee for a whole year, customer service told me autpay will be avaiable on sometime in March 2025, in the meantime I have to pay over phone every damn month and pay an extra fee every damn month, even though I offered to set it up for the sake of convenience for both of us..
They are going out of their way to make the point that they are cruel, greedy and backward thinking.
