Amazing service from the same guy that served me last time, all staff our friendly and they even demonstrated a ring polisher which I then purchased on top of what I had already been in for

Bought Le Vian Peach Morganite ring in April 2022. Turns out Le Vian gives a guarantee ONLY for the small diamonds around the centre stone. Central morganite is held by 3 claws that are likely to catch. Mine became a little loose after less then 6 months, then progressively got worse and fell out after less than 9 months from the date of purchase. I took it back to H Samuel where lady took my ring in, said it would be fixed for free because in her words "Le Vian are good like that", gave me a date a month later to come collect it. After holding it for almost a month I was informed Le Vian would charge over £100 to reset the stone. They should have checked it and informed me that this was a possibility when I left the ring with them instead of telling me that it would be done for free.

I have sent my watch off for a service and everytime I try to ring the store for any updated information no one ever picks up.

We visited the store in west quay Southampton. The salesgirl was excellent. She altered the watch bracelet I wanted to buy and then organised to send the watch to my elderly mother by courier. We were so delighted with the service we received.

Awful Repairs Service
My husband bought me a beautiful trilogy ring from H Samuel for my 50th birthday in November 2020. In December 2021, just 13 months later one of the diamonds fell out and I took the ring into H Samuel for a repair. It seems one of the claws had snapped off which is why the diamond fell out. Luckily I was at home when this happened and I found the diamond as I heard it fall on the bathroom floor. As it has just gone out of the one year warranty I was advised that I would have to pay for the repair and they sent it off to the repairs department for a quote.
Someone from H Samuel phoned me yesterday to advise that the cost of repairs will be £496! This is more than half of what my husband paid for the ring (£809) and it is now on sale at H Samuel for £639!!
I was advised that in order to reset the stone, the claw that snapped off needs to be replaced which I fully accept but they further advise that the remaining 11 main claws will need to be re-tipped in order to fully guarantee the other diamonds as they will not withstand the polishing process. Additionally, another 8 claws, 4 on each shoulder of the ring also need to be re-tipped.
As this ring is just 13 months old, I am incredulous as to why all of these claws need to be re-tipped so soon, when on average, claws on a ring should not need to be re-tipped for at least 5-10 years. In fact, I have other rings which are many years old which have never needed to be re-tipped and are in excellent condition. I can only deduce that this ring was very poorly made for it to have deteriorated so much in the 13 months that I have had it. The claw tips should be strong enough to withstand any polishing so if after 13 months they are not considered strong enough then I would question also whether the ring was even worth the amount of money that my husband paid for it.
I have supplied the stone and I am aware that the cost of re-plating and polishing is in the region of £40. I have re-searched the cost of re-tipping with other independent jewellers who have told me that re-tipping each claw should not cost more than £10 each and advised also that re-tipping should not be needed after owning the ring for such a short while. Why on earth are H Samuel telling me that 19 claws need to be re-tipped
I am so upset: my ring is such a sentimental item due to the occasion my husband bought it for and I feel that H Samuel rely on these sentiments and emotions to charge such ridiculous prices.
I am yet to contact H Samuel as I cannot decide whether I can trust them enough to repair this ring. I felt I needed to raise this as a concern for anyone else who is considering buying any ring that has stones set in claws.

6 weeks ago I took my engagement ring in to be changed because it was too big. The size I needed was out of stock so they swapped it for the smallest they had and sent that for resizing. Estimated time 4 weeks but took 6 ( fine there is a pandemic going on). Received a message to collect yesterday. Store closing time 8pm. Went in at 6:15 and the staff were closing because they were short staffed (annoying but fine as there’s a pandemic going on). I went back in today to collect my ring and there was a diamond missing from inside the band (a hidden diamond). I’m guessing we can expect a further 6 weeks to repair.
Surely HSamuel have a policy on checking repairs once received?

There were assistants around but no one was taking any notice of me. However, when I was served the assistant was most attentive, didn't rush me and was most helpful. I gave 4 stars but would have given 5 stars if I had been attended to quicker.

Disappointed, bought a watch for Father’s Day, in 1/2 price sale. Faulty, returned it, didn’t have in stock. Given the run around to another store, now awaiting for a replacement to be posted out.

The gentleman salesman that sold me a watch was extremely helpful and polite, I was not rushed into making up my mind, his knowledge of the trade was good.
