Don't Bother

Got a mini KJ 4 years ago. Use it about 3 times a year. This time, it just never got up to temperature having smoked out the neighbours first. After 2 hours I gave up and bunged my joint in the Airfryer.
Too much faff, not controllable, hype doesn't match the experience. Don't Bother.

Attrocious Customer Service

I recently moved and accidentally gave my old address for shipping. I contacted the company immediately. They said they would get back to me, but never did. Fedex won't allow me to change the address. With no phone number and a limited AI for chat, there is no way for me to rectify the error.

Don't bother

I bought the classic joe on the back of the kamado joe reputation. Massively disappointed with the product as a smoker. To begin with, the temperature was uncontrollable. I've used many bbq's and found this one impossible to regulate. It got to the point where I had to wedge the lid open with a piece of timber to keep the temperature down. The lid billows smoke and the top vent was the same when closed. Contacted Kamado Joe customer services via their website with pictures and a video of the problem and they sent out a new top vent which was marginally better. I bought a heatproof gasket and fixed it on the lid and the underside of the slo-roller and it's sealed it but the temperature is off the scale and uncontrollable still. I'll be buying a dedicated smoker and using the kamado joe as a dedicated bbq. What a waste of money!

Poor Customer Service - Wake up Kamado!

Purchased the Classic 3 from Auldton Stoves in Dunlop. the guys were great, helpful and professional.

A week or so later, I decided to purchase the Paella and Griddle pan. got it home to test it out and the griddle pan did not fit. Apparently the bowl is not circular. Just a couple of mm out, but enough to stop the griddle pan fitting properly. Spoke to the guys at Auldton and they advised I would need to go through the proper channels as it was a warranty claim. This is Kamado's policy, not Auldton's. Day or so later Kamado Joe contacted me as asked for images and a video to confirm the issue, they also requested the serial number, and this would be passed to a manager for a resolution.

Didn't hear anything back for a couple of days, and I emailed requesting an update. I was advised the bowl would be replaced, and was sent a link to a YouTube clip on how to replace it (point to note, the clip was awful and not very explanatory, just some guy mumbling abut how to do it). I watched the clip about a dozen times in preparation of the bowl arriving. Bowl arrived with instructions on how to 'disengage the hinge', unfortunately my disengagement tool was too long and would not grab the threaded bolt. Another email sent and received with advice on how to make the disengagement tool fit along with another video clip from YouTube.

I was back at Auldton the following day and was asked how I got on with the warranty claim. Advised them it has been a bit of a nightmare, and I feel disappointed and disenchanted with the service from Kamado Joe.

The guys were on it immediately, and put my concerns to rest. I was advised I would be called later the same afternoon. Issue resolved. Point to note, this was Auldton Stoves that resolved the issue, and not Kamado Joe. To be honest this should have been done first and foremost by Kamado under the warranty, not asking for images, video's and serial numbers.

Given the fact, it appears Kamado don't monitor their Trust Pilot Reviews, maybe it's about time they woke up to their shortcomings and start responding.

The best bbq on the market

The best bbq on the market. Just superb and a step ahead of competitors due to the number of add-on accessories you can use. The only bbq you will ever need.

I had an issue with a broken deflector plate after a few months of grilling, that was replaced no questions asked. Fantastic service.

Quality product, excellent customer service

I own a Classic 1 which is used at least once a week and can only say it is great.

As can happen with any product, I have had some minor issues/defects, the difference here is that every time, the customer support team exceeded expectations in terms of response time and resolution.
They replaced a product no questions asked and provide advice on how to best take care of it. (Special thanks to Debbie who has been extremely efficient).

I felt it was overpriced but after comparing with alternatives (and experiences) I believe this is the best kamado out there.

Probably the only issue is that I should have bought an upgraded version on day 1.as the accesories are worth it.

Product is good for Pro BBQ, but support is awfull

I um'd and ah'd about do I buy Green Egg or KJ. Eventually decided on KJ. Whilst the product is good for Pro smoking and BBQ, when you have an issue and warranty claim on the parts the Customer Service is Awful. I have raised 2 claims in the first 12 months and found it really difficult to actually 1. get a communication channel open 2. actually get the part in a timely manner. this part I am still waiting for after 3 months. with NO UPDATEs fro Kamado Joe. Really Awful Customer Service.
