If you've ever wanted to pay £65 to sit in a silent church hall while your handmade wares gather dust in solitude—then *Dulwich St Barnabas Hall Artisan Fayre* is the event for you!
Organised by the ever-elusive LK Popup Fayres (who seem to believe marketing is a dark art best left unexplored), the event delivered an astonishing 20-ish visitors throughout the day—most of whom wandered in accidentally, presumably looking for the toilets.
No footfall, no welcome. Unless of course you count the sweltering heat and the quiet hum of vendors trying not to weep into their tablecloths.
To add a delightful twist, we later learned some stallholders had packed up *before the event even began*, having seemingly received divine insight that this "fayre" would be less bustling artisan showcase and more existential void.
When several of us requested a refund—on the reasonable grounds that the only thing we'd gained was mild sunstroke—we were told, with charming detachment, that we should have known "they can't control the weather." Right. But they *can* control charging us full price for zero service.
LK Fayres, if your goal was to stage a pop-up case study in how *not* to run an event, congratulations. You nailed it.
Avoid at all costs—unless your business plan involves paying to be ignored.
