2 night break with my daughter

My daughter and I chose the Loch Long Hotel due to visiting my mum in Succoth (10 min walk from hotel)
I had read the reviews prior to our visit, and I won't lie - I was slightly worried. However, I decided to try the hotel out myself and make an honest review.

Views of the loch were spectacular from the hotel and surrounding area.

First impressions from the car park were just ok.
Entrance to the hotel appeared clean.
Reception staff friendly
We chose 2 bedrooms with loch view and breakfast.

Traveling from reception to our room is where it all started to go wrong.

The carpets on the way to our room are that filthy, they have a sheen to them. There was coffee/tea spills on some of the steps anti slip part - which stayed there for our entire 2 night stay.

The public doors to our rooms were absolutely filthy.
We then started dreading our rooms.
The corridor leading to room 64 had a strong smell of what we think was paint stripper?
However, the carpet in that area appears cleaner and newer.

My daughter had a partial view room. The view would have indeed been full view had it not for one of the panes if window being filthy.
The room was basic
The carpet ripped
The curtains did not fit the window, so therefore they didn't close.
My daughter found an empty packet of cigarettes around the tea and coffee area.
The mattress was uncomfortable
The bedding appeared to be ok, but a few hairs notes.
The clean towels unfortunately smelled of chips fat (which radiated from one of the corridors)

My room appeared a nicer room.
Sanitary wear appeared clean.
Pillows flat as a pancake and none of the pillows in either room had a pillow protector. I had to insert one of the band towels in the pillowcase to allow me to feel less repulsed at no protective cover.

My bathroom floor was broken
Wardrobe dirty
Mattress not too comfy.
I dropped a lipsill and it rolled under the bed... I moved the bed and I wont go into what was under there!

Understandably, we chose not to eat in the restaurant as we were so worried about cleanliness (we had already paid)

The public areas looked ok- but we didn't use.
There was live music on both nights that we didn't attend, and it was really loud and rowdy through till after midnight each night - it was ok, folk are there to have fun.

I'm really sad to say that we would not return. The place lacks intention to detail and TLC. I feel it is just a money maker and no concern for the guest and their want for them to enjoy themselves and return.

#lochlonghotel I was a live in chef at loch long hotel were thought was a great place to work as everyone there was realy nice but on the first day I came to lit he I hadn’t to be the dirtiest place I’ve ever seen no hygiene whatsoever I even went to get a bag of pasta out a box in dry store and 3 rats jumped out if I knew of the condition of the place I would have stayed away. I decided to stay even though I warned the owner and manager about this an kept saying to them but was just looked over it was closed last month due to health and hygiene #Thomas Melville the owner and Andrew Mcglashan knew this and willingly asked me to continue selling food to customers who stayed in hotel. ANYONE OFFERED JOB HERE STAY AWAY !!!!!!

Absolute disgrace of a Hotel and…

Absolute disgrace of a Hotel and Company.
I am writing this on behalf of my mother in law who has a PCN (parking notice charge) for simply parking in the Hotel she had booked for 3 Days.
My wife has called this Hotel twice, when she finally got through, was assured the matter had been resolved. Also 2 emails were sent (and completely ignored).
Suprise, suprise a couple of weeks later a £100 penaly notice came through, so no they didn't resolve the problem.
My Mother in Law is an elderly widow, who has been terribly upset by this harrassment for money. This has caused untold anxiety to the point where she does not want to go out.
Firstly PCN companies in the UK are the lowest , bottom feeding, low life known to humans. They, with the help of the courts, think they are allowed to do whatever they want, with impunity.

As for this Hotel, which for some bizarre reason, has a PCN operating on it's site, for reasons which are apparent now!!!. It's a honey trap. Send some threatening letters from their dodgy, low life associates and bingo!!, a new untapped revenue has opened.

You had the chance to rectify this on numerous occasions. The next step is small claims court, where you WILL be sued for emotional upset.

I see the hotel profile on trustpilot is 'unclaimed' , probably got a few accounts under different names?. Not to worry, I'm sure they won't be hard to find.

Avoid this place, fawlty towers was funny in it's day, this isn't!!.

We booked a 2 night stay trip to this hotel recently, when we got there we had to sign in for parking, they fail to inform you that of you stay longer than 1 night then you have to input your information again otherwise youre slapped with a £100 fine (like we were), trying to get in touch via phone is like trying to get blood from a stone..pointless. When I finally got in touch and tried asking for the managers details to raise a complaint they put the phone down on me.. i have patiently waited for them to sort the fine out and to be honest i think i will still be waiting at Christmas.. i asked for an email with the managers information and confirmation they had sorted the fine and again still waiting
0 stars would be better rated as the service and hotel is absolutely appalling

Outstanding hotel in Loch Lomond area. A wee gem.

My whole experience was wonderful. Staff very friendly and helpful. Accomodation was pleasant and comfortable. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was ambient. Free car parking facilities also a bonus. Enjoyed my stay and will reccomend to others and most definately I will be back when next in Scotland. Overall experience was excellent.

Trying to call this hotel to book a voucher tribute act and can't get anyone to answer the phone. Sent an email and eventually they replied asking for my contact number...to date still not called me...appalling customer service

I too was on a coach trip

I too was on a coach trip but thought they may have resolved issues. Place was cleaner than the last review, but leaks everywhere, not new leaks either. The smell of the place wasn't welcoming. Lift wasn't working, lighting on stairs was poor. Food wasn't great. They did try after much prompting. This place is in a good location

We stayed at this awful hotel from the 4th - 11th of October, on a coach holiday from the south west scottish borders with Telfords coach holidays (Newcastleton)
Except for the downstairs main public areas, this hotel is filthy, shabby and in an awful state of disrepair.
All our pillows were yellow sweat stained filthy stinking awful. the window curtains looked like stained rags of hessian, and were ill fitting. the bathroom was damp and mould spores on the ceiling, sink no plug, bath no plug, and shower just oozed out drips, it was so congealed with scales. The filthy cheap carpet was just that, and engrained with dirt, and loads and loads of black hair all over it. This was the second room, after which we were told no other rooms available, all booked up. Lift was not working, and after reading others experiences, it's been out of action for months!! The food was okay, with dinner being the best meal of the day. Breakfast, well if you ever get a breakfast like their site photos, then you'll have done better than us. 1/2 rasher of bacon, 1/2 a tomato, eggs, yes can have two!! Black pudding, a small tasteless barely cooked sausage, and washy baked beans!!
However the whole place is terrible, different sets of stairs in all directions, with A4 paper printed signs here and there.
The manager was arrogant, and beyond belief, very argumentative of you challenge him, and I did. the rest of the staff are hard working, and very helpful.
This hotel seems to be indian ,managed and staffed, with some local staff here and there, but I do emphasize some!! most indian room staff spoke english very poorly, although smiling, you could tell they hadn't understood your questions, or requests.
It took the hotel 2 days to change our filthy sweat stained pillows for new, and 3 days to clean our room carpet.
none of the bedding was changed during our 4 night stay, I repeat none!!
I urge any traveller to PLEASE consider other hotels, do not stay in this Loch Long hotel, or you'll be so bitterly disappointed !!!
