After leaving Ashley Wicks and Lumina for what turned out to be a "better" deal from another broker, the first person I called to assist me was Ashley when the "better" deal failed to materialize. As expected Ashley was professional and efficient and provided electricity tariff information immediately and we have since signed up to a deal provided by him. Lumina stand out in a nasty industry, full of crooks, something that the Government seems uninterested in correcting. Many brokers are on the borderline of criminality; Lumina are straightforward and honest. Support is excellent and Ian did everything he could to make our review of our energy requirements painless. The problem in this process is that you have to watch your terms of trade; energy companies try to off-set price reductions by, for instance, demanding two months payments up front in effect wiping out the benefits of the price reduction. (You need to listen carefully to your broker on this issue.) In actuality, we were most pleased with our change of water company. Our previous company was a walking disaster area and Ian switched us to a company that knew what it was doing. If you are going to switch, the issue is as much about quality of service as saving relatively small amounts of money.

I must admit that we haven't been the easiest client for Ian. However he stuck with it and we now have a deal that we are happy with. Always professional and courteous. Thank You.

Andrew Gillespie, my contact at Lumina, went far beyond his job description in his work for me. My case was an extremely complex one that involved needing to negotiate with 2 electricity suppliers and 2 gas suppliers, plus re-install the infrastructure too. I worked with Andrew on the final part of it for almost a year and found him to be dedicated, patient, professional and friendly (we were swapping baby photographs towards the end!). Andrew never gave up or forgot a deadline. He liaised with my builders and guided me through the 'minefield' that I found myself with reassuring ease.
