Cancelled my policy for no reason & Quoted me £1200 more
Cancelled my policy and given no reason due to the cancellation, they proceeded to tell me it was a system error. Then referred me to make a new policy for £1200 more than my old policy.

Process was poor
Process was poor.
I got quotes snd then a week later, chose policy on line. It was a Saturday which may have slowed things up. I had an email to say that there was an error at the payment section of the transaction but you took the money out of my bank anyway.
I called customer service on the Saturday and they were kind and tried to help but not able to resolve the issue.
Eventually, on the Monday, very helpful man in customer services sorted it out for me. Occasions that I contacted customer services I was held in the queue for around 40 minutes which is really unacceptable.

We apologise if there was an issue when making the payment online, we appreciate that you then called the offices to resolve this and that an agent was able to fix this for you.
We would also like to apologise if there was a wait on the phone line, as we are an incoming call centre we can experience a high number of incoming calls at any time and during this time there can be a longer wait to speak to an agent. We are trying to resolve this and do have every available agent on the phones.

Shocking service
Took out a new policy with them after 2 years of being with them, only for them to cancel it after 5 days without giving a real reason. After spending over an hour on the phone with them, get passed from pillar to post, they offered me a new policy but an extra £60. Ended up going with another company with a similar price to what was originally quoted.

Extremely poor communication!!!!!
Have written three emails to these now regarding an increase in my husbands insurance, due to an accident years ago. This was a claim on my insurance and is reflected in my insurance premium. Therefore, should not be taken into account on my husbands insurance. It certainly isn't for his insurance on our campervan. What makes Mackenzie Hodgson so different that they have to allocate extra on my insurance (expected due to the accident claim being against my car insurance) and also my husbands insurance?
I do not expect a reply to this review as much as I've given up on ever receiving a reply to my emails.
Shame customer service and communication is so bad as the price for the cover received is very reasonable. I will certainly seriously weigh up my options next year and am keeping my fingers crossed that I do not need to make a claim.

There was a little hicup when dealing over the phone with my renewal but it was no great deal. Been with M/H for about three years now and would recommend.

Very competitive quote
Renewal of insurance on my two bikes and I was pleased with the price (cheaper than last year) I had a couple of queries which the agent I spoke to sorted out quickly. I’ve not had to make a claim luckily so I don’t know what M&H are like sorting out claims but hopefully they will be OK.
