Bike shipped with faulty crank arms and…
Bike shipped with faulty crank arms and pedals. Destroyed themselves within a few weeks. Tried to contact the company for 2 months with no reply via phone, email and social media. Only once I threatened to bring a small claims action did they bother replying. Took another month to send the first package, which was actually shorter arms to the ones that came with my bike. Eventually failed to send pedals with this pack. Had to wait abother week. Took to bike store to get repaired and mechanic notified me the quality of the replacement parts were so poor they have anticipated id need a replacement within the month and offered to order and replace for me for free as they felt bad for me. Poor customer service and sub par quality, blanketed by the excuse of covid. I encourage you to look at their twitter and other reviews before even considering buying.
Bike stolen/lost by courier they used.
After waiting patiently for 3 months, my bike then gets stolen/lost by the courier they decided to use. The courier service XDP has awful reviews - why choose a crap company to ship your products. Absolutely gutted - no reply from them regarding this.
Save the hassle - look elsewhere
Update: I've just received a refund for my bike and they've charged me £35 without any explanation. Having waited for over 3 months for a bike that doesn't exist they also try and keep your money!!!
After two generic emails regarding the delay of my order, I rang Mango to check that my bike was still set for delivery at the end of Sept. Spoke to a nice gentlemen but he has now informed me that I won't receive my bike until end of Oct. If I hadn't of rang, would I have been told this information? I placed my order mid-June and have never received a personal response from Mango. I have tried to contact them via phone, email, instant messenger and on social media. All I have ever received is a generic email which gets pumped out to all customers to state that there has been a delay. I was quite surprised when someone actually answered the phone this time round. I ordered from Mango to support a small business and expected a delay on my order (6 weeks delivery at the point of order) but has now resulted in a 3 month wait - soon to be 4 months. I appreciate that there has been high demand but all that Mango need to do is keep their customers informed. Radio silence is just not good enough for someone who has parted with a lot of money during a difficult time. Would not recommend purchasing from this company when other companies are keeping on top of orders, managing expectations and communicating. Look elsewhere.
Check their social media comments for true customer feelings.
If I could leave a zero scoring, I would.
Absolutely horrendous experience from start to finish. Please don’t be suckered in by their reviews. co. uk reviews, they are absolute fabrications. Check their Instagram comments for how customers are really feeling, check Twitter. To be clear on this, this is NOT a good company to deal with.
So here I am 14 weeks later, I ordered on the 25th of May. Now to get a few things out in the open straight away, I completely understand we have been through a global pandemic, I understand that bikes have been in high demand and I absolutely do not doubt the quality of the bike. At time I ordered they were saying it would be there by June, on a banner at the top of their webpage. Still taking orders for the entire 14 weeks I’ve been a customer and still not being able to fulfil early May.
But by god, they do not give you a good customer experience whatsoever, ghost like in appearance. Yet have the time to slate paying customers on social media and blog posts numerous times. Generic responses, no one there to reach out to, where’s my bike, where’s my money, it’s a traumatic experience all round. Dangle you along for weeks and weeks and weeks.
Now I have the decision to make do I succumb to the cowboys and pay £35 for upgraded wheels, or cancel and pay them £30 restocking fee.
One thing is for sure, balaclava’s have not been in short supply during the pandemic.
Looking at getting Trading Standards Involved
I placed my order with Mango Bikes on 22nd May. On 15th July, I received an email from Emily and I quote "our current estimate for completing your build is 2/3 weeks." That would have taken us through to 5th August at the latest.
Imagine my disappointment when I checked my order on 5th August, only to get another email from Emily that day saying the wheels are "currently on European waters and due to arrive on Friday evening." and "You should get an updated estimate dispatch date soon and email confirmation that it's with our build team sometime next week."
Here I am 14 days later with an Inbox devoid of an email giving me an updated dispatch date or any kind of confirmation that my bike is even with the build team.
Hate to say it but enough is enough.
I have emailed them asking to cancel my finance agreement and to refund all monies.
Where to begin
Where to begin? Firstly my bike has arrived and they get 2 stars because the bike does look awesome.
However, I ordered a custom fixie on the 8th of May and it arrived on the 18th of August. Yep, 3 months and 10 days later despite a 14 day promise at that time. I needed the bike quickly and even called ahead and was told they could probably have it to me in 12 days.
Best way to reach them is on Messenger and they were quite responsive to my needing to change delivery address due to how long it had taken.
Last thing, I got pink pedals instead of black and no instructions or tools to put it together. Messaged them to say they're out of black but will get some eventually but lucky me gets to keep the pink. They emailed me instructions and said I was meant to get tools but they're completely out. If anyone is waiting on a bike I highly recommend having a 4mm and 5mm allen key, as well as some sort of spanner ready for whenever your bike arrives. I sincerely hope it doesn't take as long as mine.
I very much tried to like this company…
I very much tried to like this company and sympathize with them due to the current pandemic. Sorry, I can't. They are lying promising new bikes to be shipped in 4 weeks when they cannot even deliver purchases from May.
Phone lines don't work, they ignore emails and then they charge you £35.39 to cancel the order after 11 weeks because they "have been working on it" (What??)
Try somewhere else!
DO NOT BUY FROM MANGO
DO NOT BUY FROM MANGO. They do not answer emails, phone calls, Twitter posts, Instagram DMs. I waited 12 weeks for a bike, and then emailed five times to cancel and request a refund. They have mass emailed saying that the cancelled bike is being built and they intend to send it. I do not want this bike, and I do not want to pay to ship it back to Northern Ireland where they will ignore my requests for a refund. THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY AVOID AT ALL COSTS
DO NOT BUY FROM MANGO BIKES
I ordered a bike on the 9th of June. I still had not received it on the 11th of August. When I asked where it was they said they were waiting on suppliers. I then requested that my bike should be cancelled and they charged me a £30 restocking fee. £30 for stock they didn't have yet. They could use that stock on another order they had failed to deliver on. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Awful customer service
Awful customer service, awful company do not buy anything from this company, we had loads of trouble getting a reply after my sons bike broke after 2 day
Wish I could give a lower rating
Wish I could give a lower rating. Absolutely abysmal service, must have children running their customer service department. Avoid at all cost.
CHAIN BROKE THREW ME OFF MY BIKE. DON'T BUY DANGEROUS BIKES
The chain on one of your bikes, not six months old, just snapped flinging me off it into the middle of a busy London intersection, hurting my back and putting me in a very dangerous situation. I have tried to contact you and have asked twice now for someone to call me. You asked for photos of the chain which I supplied and have since heard nothing from you. Please contact me or I will be requesting CCTV footage of the fall and taking this matter further.
No communication, No bike but taken my money
Ordered a bike in May 2020. Still haven't received it. Mango bikes are uncontactable. A few generic emails sent out but each time suggesting further delays without any clear idea about when I will receive the bike. Completely understand the demand and the various issues that C-19 has caused. All that would be required would be some good communication. However personal communication has been non existent and they are uncontactable. Furthermore I am paying for the bike via cycle scheme each month. Failure to provide goods you have paid for in a timely fashion is a breech is a breach under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. As I say I completely understand the current situation and realise that everyone ordering a bike from most suppliers have had delays. Speaking to colleagues though companies such as Brompton Bikes; Halfords have been very good communication and also prioritised key workers (Doctor) such as myself
I don't to be negative given the…
I don't to be negative given the pandemic, but I placed my order on the 12th May at which time full payment was taken. We are now in August and apart from a few emails I really have no idea when i will receive my bike. Good communication is key. Mango Bikes have failed massively on that front
ABSOLUTE SCAMMERS
ABSOLUTE SCAMMERS. DONT USE. Ordered a bike. Kept delaying the delivery dates. Several months later they said it would be another 2 months so I cancelled and bought a bikeFrom someone else. They refused to give a full refund specifying ridiculous charges such as “restocking” and admin fees!!! They must be raking it in for doing absolutely nothing but letting people down.
Awful.
First time ever writing a review, as I consider myself easy going and don't let bad experiences as a consumer frustrate me.
I ordered a bike mid May for my girlfriend's birthday in early June after mango's website said 2-3 weeks delivery. No reply after several emails. Only way I found to get them to respond is on twitter, even then they couldn't give any information on when the bike will arrive.
It's nearly the start of August and still no bike. I know the world will keep spinning without the bike I ordered, but it was purchased with the intention of using it this summer, especially for our two holidays in the UK camping.
To add insult to the many annoyed customers who can't get any communication, Andrew the MD occasionally tweets a quirky heartfelt blog post.
Many companies have struggled during covid, so delays are of course expected. But it really isn't hard to communicate with customers.
Avoid avoid avoid avoid on principle.
Customer Service?
At time of ordering 27th May i was advised 3-4weeks till delivery.
Mid June I received a generic email saying there was a delay and my order would be fulfilled mid July.
Now over two months since ordering and I've had no specific feed back on my order. No response to any form of communication, email, twitter, phone-call.
Now July 29th my order tracking page still says my bike will be dispatched mid July. Does this mean 2021? Who knows.
DO NOT PURCHASE THEIR BIKES!!!
Do not buy from this company... Had the same experience as everybody else, it is unbelievably shocking customer service. Ordered my bike almost 2 months ago and next to no updates... I have contacted your customer support once again, more than a week ago to cancel the order and no response given at all. For Christ sake don't buy their bikes.
AVOID
Terrible, 2 months later and still no bike. Poor communication with them from start to finish, originally bike was going to take 3 weeks, then 5, then 8, then 10 before I cancelled.
Then when cancelling they had the audacity to try sending only a partial refund (charging £30 plus a their payment fee of around £5) claiming because "work had already started" - yet they told me they were still waiting for the parts?
They downright refused to provide a full refund so I had to escalate the claim through PayPal who awarded it in my favour.
Update** got an email from them saying my bike was ready after 13 weeks, 10 more than what they originally said, what a joke!
Customer service is absolutely terrible, would give them 0 stars if I could.
Avoid at all costs.
Don't order from them
I ordered a bike in May being told they'd build it in two weeks. Over two weeks later, in June, they said they'd have parts in by end of the month. By July I asked for a refund. Ultimately I was given a part refund. They still have £35 of my money for not fulfilling an order of 8 weeks.
They also edit the reviews on their website - my negative review was removed. Don't trust that site.
