I have had a very positive experience in the Barnsley branch. Allie is very personable and clearly cares about the business. I wish the branch all the success!

Me and my partner are currently buying a property through Hannah at Merryweathers and they have been nothing short of excellent. Everything so far has been so smooth and the communication has been spot on and miles ahead of local competition.
Our mortgage is also being done via them through Sharon Bristow and her assistant Katrina and they have been so helpful, super efficient, speedy and found us a great deal.
So far I couldn't think of a better agent and people to deal with.
Highly recommend for both buying and mortgages.

We recently used Merryweathers at Rotherham to sell our house. Excellent brochure, great communication and very efficient and helpful staff throughout from valuation to completion. With a long and complicated chain, this sale could have been very stressful, but with Merryweathers professionalism it progressed smoothly. Highly recommended.

Enquired Dec 2021 and initially the response seemed good
The manager of the MEXBROUGH Branch initially attended on behalf of the Rotherham branch
and said they had hardly any properties on the market
They said the listing of the house valued at 600 K would be on Rightmove Zoopla before Boxing Day
Even after two visits from Merryweathers nobody ever took any measurements or inc additional information in the listing we requested to be done
The Epc guy didn’t turn up
But it wasn’t until the first week in January the house was listed for sale
Ok we can live with that
But We’ve had no enquiries or offers whatsoever or any feedback from Merryweathers as to why

However I’ve just looked at Rightmove Zoopla 27th Feb 2022 and unbelievably the listing has been removed on an unknown date without any prior notification of any kind whatsoever from Merryweathers Rotherham
What on earths going on? No letters phone call or emails nothing
I’m extremely disappointed we’ve been treated this way This is totally unprofessional and not what you would expect from any Estate Agent you’ve put you’re trust in !,

I’m absolutely appalled at my treatment these past few months by merryweathers. I’ve been renting a furnished flat for 18 months… after a few broken appliances and promises of repairs I decided I had had enough and handed in my notice. My fridge freezer (that was here when I moved in) broke last month, as a full time working single mum that lives hand to mouth I obviously don’t just have a few hundred pounds laying around to go out and purchase a brand new one. I contacted the estate agents and the landlord basically said he couldn’t help me on that one, along with a broken oven that I’ve been waiting for to be fixed for over a month. I have always paid my rent in full and on time. However I had to make a decision to pay my rent or buy a new appliance in order to keep food in my 3 year old daughters mouth. Obviously I chose the latter as anyone would. They even had the cheek to tell me after the landlord refused to replace it that “if I bought a new one I wouldn’t have to leave it when I left” well obviously? I wouldn’t have weather I was told I could or not!

Long story short I had a very rude phone call today from Collette. I told her I would be able to pay next week when I get paid as I physically did not have the money in my account right now, she didn’t even let me explain my circumstances before actually SHOUTING at me down the phone, saying do you think we would make you wait a week for your bond back. I’m a 27 year old woman with enough going on and do not need some woman shouting at me down the phone because my rent is going to be a week and half late! I’m actually disgusted at how this woman spoke to me today when I asked for her name she told me Collette and repetitively told me she was the manager. Probably knowing I was to lodge a complaint. I’m sorry but just because your the manager does NOT give you the right to speak to people, especially paying customers, however you see fit.

Stick your bond where the sun don’t shine, I’ll have the keys back to you asap and will ensure I and anyone else I encounter NEVER use merryweathers ever again.

Maybe take a quick minute in future to think about how tough some people may have it at the moment before adding any more stress into their lives. Absolutely disgusting.

Do not use this company they just cost me the sale of my house because they marketed a house without 2 signatures they only had 1 put it on the market hoping to get the 2nd the property had a court order matrimonial dispute on it they went breach of court order still no signature we actually was told Friday they admitted it shouldn't have been put on market we have spoken to 4 estate agents they all said they broke the law not getting 2 signatures to sell it a lawyer has told us the are now liable to costs after 6 months of been sold we now got extra stamp duty £1750 to find another searches survey and solicitors to buy again plus houses gone up £15000 since April total extra cost to me £20000 now extra to find and pay due to there fault I was told on 1st Oct don't expect to move this month mortgage offer runs out in 5 weeks extra £750 with new valuation cost that's merryweather see you in court asap you not getting away with this

I called up on Saturday the 25th at 11am to chase up a email enquiry I sent threw zoopla. The lady who answered the call was quite rude and when I explained I was just calling to chase a email enquiry i sent she answered "we get so many enquiries through zoopla we hardly check them". The property we where enquiring about was not available for viewings and I was then told they do not know when the property will be available.

To top it all off, I was then offered a alternative property that we wasn't even eligible for.

Merryweathers Doncaster, their valuer came out to view my house, he is an elderly gentleman, who can presumably remember when houses cost £200 each. He valued my house at £40k, for this gem of information and their service he wanted to charge me £1500. I sold the house 1 week later for £50k, using a sign in the window with my phone number on. He also valued another house of mine at £40k or less, even though it was producing £7500 per anum, I had aniother valuation at £70k. So if you want to pay for useless information, Merryweathers is the firm to go to.

We placed a bid on one of the houses they were selling (after we viewed it) and they phoned me back, telling me the owners have accepted our offer. They then sent me an email, where they confirmed that our offer has been accepted. My mother brought all the neccessary documents into their office 2 days later. One day after this, we received another call and merryweathers told us, the owners have now accepted another offer and won't sell to us. Disappointing and unprofessional. Only one more day later and we would've had to pay money for our solicitor already. Never doing business with them again. Thank goodness there's lots of other real estate agencies out there.

Excellent service from Nichola and her support team throughout the sale process. Would recommend Merryweathers Barnsley without hesitation. An easy decision to appoint them at the outset and they didn't disappoint. Well done, and thank you.

I'm writing concerning the Barnsley Branch of Merryweathers. I have had to deal from a distance with a probate sale on behalf of a relative. I first met Nichola at the property amongst other agents.Was more than impressed and chose Merryweathers as the agent to sell. Everything they said they would do....they did from marketing, to thoughts on how the sale would manifest and ultimately taking it through to completion. I had the pleasure of dealing with Hilary and Beth who only endorsed the high level of service and communication. Across the board they were first class and faultless

Completely over charged us 3 yrs ago and asked not to return. Returned the following year without asking, with a set fee, which he denied after starting the work, and without completing.
Now trying to charge an outrageous cancellation free.
Would not recommend this company.

What an amazing service I have received from Emma, manager, and Shelley, negotiater, in the few months it took to sell my 2 properties from beginning to end. Throughout this period,they were highly professional, efficient , effective communicators, thorough, respectful, knowledgeable, Every question, however small,was speedily answered. It was a streamlined, personal service which made the process of selling houses nearly stress free and even enjoyable!
Recommending a high quality solicitor and professionals to quickly do reports was a very welcome bonus.

Renting with merryweathers 5 years everything ok until now! I believe they have been letting themselves into the property without my permission as I walked in from wrk last week to find a compliments slip on the stairs I had had no letter or phone call with a date or times etc of visit. Not acceptable and made a complaint via email and no response! Obviously not bothered

i have been renting for over 2 years with merryweathers and i confirm they should rename it mentalweathers. they turn up every 3 months to inspect the property they let themselves in if your not in.my boiler is broken and i have not had any heating or hot water for 5 days now i have called them twice i have called in office twice and i have filed in an online falt form and they have called me once but still no one as called to fix the boiler. in their correspondence they say i must not decorate with out permission even though my flat looks like it was painted by the salvador dali school for the blind.
