How lucky am I? A brand new hiker, and I just happened to stop by Millets (if I’m honest en route to another store) and I met staff member Mike. A self professed outdoors and hiking geek. He had incredible knowledge. Advised me on boots, socks and other kit as well as tips for not getting blisters. And even saved me money on buying something not suitable for me.

I actually thought Millets was closed - delighted it isn’t and delighted we have one in Brighton with such in depth knowledge. We will be back to get kit for my partner and update my kit. If I could give 10 stars I would.

My wife & I visited Millets for a camping stove and gas, Fin & Mike were fantastic, extremely knowledgeable of all aspects of camping making sure we got exactly what we needed, even realised we needed a kettle!
While I was there I spoke about trying to find a decent gore-tex coat for the last year, again with their wealth of experience the 2nd one on fitted perfect, so another purchase. On our way towards the door there was a few camping chairs that looked very comfortable, more comfortable than the folding 1s we had got so we had 2 of those as well.
So pleased with all our purchases, thanks guys we will return.

Mike was extremely helpful today. I’d been buying the same shoe for years but I started getting pain. Mike asked very simple questions to quickly identify the issue and then easily explained what I needed to know going forward.

After learning more about my habits he recommended a perfect shoe, I was in pain walking to the shop but not an ounce walking back. Overall my experience was fairly perfect today so I’m writing my first review.

I went into the shop in some advice for socks to wear for Leadership course for the RN. I asked Mike who was worked there, and he instantly understood what I needed and suggested me multiple socks to suit my budget. He took the time to listen to me, understand and suggested the applicate products.
He also explained to me that he had done a lot of expeditions which reassured me in his knowledge.
If you happen to be in the Brighton branch of Millets, all personnel working here are polite and helpful and will give you all the answers you need.

It's so important that high street shops like this keep going. Trying to buy hiking boots, I really needed to try them on, and the bonus was amazing and knowledgeable support from the staff (thank you Mike!). Great shop.

Staff really helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Got chatting to one guy who was really knowledgeable about Sweden which was really useful for our up and coming trip.
