Signed up to the all in service / warranty plan. Asked at the time if timing belt was included, was told yes. Booked in for the first service this morning, only top be told that, amongst other extras, they want close to £800 extra to replace timing belt. I told them this was unacceptable and that I'd been told it was included when I signed up. Their response is that I wouldn't have been told it was included, as it's never been included in the plan. I explained that I specifically asked and was categorically told it was included. They said that their people would not have told me this (basically calling me a liar) and then asked me did I have it in writing!!!
When I told them I wasn't lying about this, they said it must be a misunderstanding.
I understood perfectly well when i asked the direct question "Is the timing belt included in the plan?", and the response was "Yes".
Looking again at the 'Plan At a Glance' in the literature they sent me, the only exclusions listed are:-
All general wear and tear
Tyre replacement or puncture repair
Oil, air and fluid top-ups between services
Air conditioning
Brake fluid.
This clearly doesn't indicate that the timing belt isn't included in the service.
I'm not happy and I've asked a reputable local garage for a price to do the timing belt and associated water pump / tensioners for me. Incidentally, when I told them of what's happened, they said they hear lots of similar tales regarding Mitchells.
BTW, this review relates to the Skoda franchise at Stanney Mill Lane, Chester (near Cheshire Oaks, Ellesmere Port)

Lauren and the team go out of their way to make the Hillfoot ( Hunts Cross Liverpool) a home from home. Lauren does so much for the local community organising event days in her free time, she really is a kind soul. Considering they’re always running around busy as hell , the whole team can’t do enough for you , especially the kids. They’re always so kind and helpful. It’s a lovely family pub - well done Lauren and team you all do a fantastic job

Although I did not buy from Mitchells (Chester), I felt I needed to give them positive feedback. I recently put a deposit down to hold a used Superb as I was having issues with obtaining one I had already ordered from another dealership. Debbie was great, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. In the end the other dealership came through so had to cancel my reservation. Mitchell's refunded straight away without any problems. You can tell a good company by how they behave when things don't go their way, I would happy use them in future.

Had my car in today to check a few things. As always, the staff at Skoda Mitchell, especially Karl, was helpful and polite to give me the best experience; nothing is ever too much! Would recommend this dealership for anyone wanting to get a quality & honest experience!

I purchased a gently used Skoda from Mitchell Skoda several years ago and have been really happy with the vehicle and the friendly, efficient service from the service centre. I made an unbooked visit the other day, as the sat nav began playing up on the eve of a long journey and I was beginning to panic. Thankfully, to my great relief, after making a few adjustments, they solved the problem at no extra charge. My next car purchase will be from them. Thank you team.

I just wanted to write a review of Andy at Mitchell's skoda in Chester.
I live in glasgow and viewed a car online without photos. I called about it and tried to Andy. Who was so helpful and gave me lots of pictures and and calls or concerns I had he helped. I travelled down one sat and collected the car after the company kindly had collected me at the station. They were friendly and I can rest assured with the warranty and 12 months AA cover. and the car was as lovely as I was told. I then drove the car back 4 hours to glasgow. And what a joy. I even got a courtesy call a few days after from Andy to see if I was happy with the car.
I would highly Recommend this company. And would consider buying again from them in the future. 5*.

Just bought my first ever car (used) from Mitchells and they were so helpful. Allowed me lots of test drives, some time away to think, remembered my details and followed up with ideas that I might like. Some sales people were a little lacking in more technical details of the car (acceleration time etc) but very knowledgeable about the trim and inside features. I absolutely trust the car will not break down quickly and will be well serviced before sale. Mitchell Group allows you to buy a good car and peace of mind!

Collected my new car yesterday from Mitchell Skoda near cheshire oaks. The whole transaction, from my first visit to driving away, was an absolute pleasure. Special mention must go to Barry Jones who looked after me all the way and nothing was too much trouble for him. He is not your typical car salesman, his attitude is much more of personal friend and really looks out for you. Oh and to top it of a beautiful bunch of flowers for my wife on collection of the car. Thanks once again i will be back in the future.

Looking to purchase new car, they lost the sale over a set of carpet mats. I also wanted a towbar and asked if I could have any discount this was also refused. Yet they wanted my p/x.

Recently purchased a rx450h from Lexus Chester, fantastic customer service, well looked after.
As it's a generation 4 model the tow bar is a Lexus only fitting. I rang round a few Lexus dealers to get some quotes and pleased to say Chester were the cheapest at £1098. Liverpool Lexus wanted £1537 for the same tow bar.
The sales team in particular Jane Waddington were brilliant. Special thanks to Tom Skelton, servicing for sorting a great deal re the tow bar.

Great customer support from manager Neil and Debbie. I have just had used skoda delivered in a fabulous condition.Highly recommend them and will buy again in future God willing.

Since purchasing a new car from these people I have been plagued with telephone calls and strange emails from both Mitchell Skoda and Skoda Connect. I contacted Charlotte at customer services several times to ask who they have given my details to but I don't get any reply.
