I don't even really want to give a star…
I don't even really want to give a star rating - its more a comment on the savings comparison tables. For Cash ISA - all but 1 of the 8 providers have a bonus rate or a withdrawal charge. Thisismoney.com and moneyfacts are much clearer as they show providers true rates either without the bonus included or they show all the providers not just the ones with the bonus rates so you can choose properly. It all just seems a bit misleading and confusing.
If you endorse you should take responsibility
You endorsed company called Chip. They offer saving account with little higher rates.
1) To open an account no ID is required
2) I used Debit Card to 'Add money' and it takes days
to transfer, however Chip app shows the new balance.
3) They prefer to connect app and bank account via Open Banking which is not a problem, however they will scan every transaction, Direct Debit and standing order (for Autosave apparently). I consider that an invasion of privacy.
4) Now I'm trying to close account at Chip and get my money back to the bank account and I can't because app and bank account are not linked...? And they require additional checks. ID, statement, selfie.
They are eager to take money even without any security checks but to withdraw I need to talk to Customer Service who suggested I can send a copy of my ID via email without encryption...!
Not to mention their communication skills are not great (trying to be very diplomatic here; some rude words would be more appropriate)
I suggest MoneySavingExpert.com should research more before endorsing any business in the future, not only what they offer but also personal data security and customer service as well.
Do not trust offers from MSE

Sorry, wrong company. So annoyed at being scammed. I complained about msm instead of mse. Sorry.
I’m still waiting for my cashback 7 months on
I “Switched” energy supplier through MSE Cheap Energy Club on 2 May 2024. I should have received £20 for switching through them within 3-6 months, but 7 months on, I am still waiting for my cashback. I have been in contact with them over the past 4 weeks but just keep on getting excuses. Dishonest company. Wasn’t like that when it was owned by Martin Lewis. Shameful.

Tumble dryer cost
Having read that Martin Lewis said that tumble dryers cost £1 a load, we attached a meter to ours. Averaged over 8 loads, ours used just 1kWh per load. At today's prices that is about 24p per load. Our tumble drier is nothing special; not a condenser and the cheapest Bosch one we could get.
Always excellent info
Couldnt find info I wanted about Sky tv on Sky site, couldnt get the info by phoning sky, but found it here.
Been using this site for many years and its always provided me with what I need.
I cant believe some of the bad reviews, clearly some people dont read the whole page and therefore misunderstand the info. I could spend all day pointing out their errors....

Amazing what a poor review can do!!!
I’ve used the site many times for switches with energy companies, so, used them again to switch from EON to EDF at the beginning of April 2024, with the offer of £20 cash back paid by them within 3/6 months.
This long time period apparently is due to EDF having to contact MSE with the necessary details.
3/6 months!!! What are they using in this technological day and age morse code or semaphore???
When the cash back hadn’t arrived by early October I wrote to them and received a reply on 15th Oct saying:- ‘I understand it’s frustrating. We’re waiting for EDF to send a switch confirmation and referral fee. I’ve spoken to MSE Finance Team who have confirmed this data will be sent SHORTLY and will allow cash back to be issued. Will let you know as soon as we receive the update and provide a timescale on when to expect cash back’.
10 days on and not a dicky bird! No great shock or surprise!!!
With any luck I might receive it before the fixed term is finished next April.
For a website that blows its own trumpet very LOUDLY every week in its news letter, with all of their success stories they’ve had, I can’t recall an admittance of abject failure on their customers behalf in any of the ones I’ve read over the years??
In the future I will of course vote with my feet and go elsewhere for comparisons and were I can expect cash back within my lifetime.
I would urge any readers of the MSE weekly newsletter, who have switched their energy company this year through this site, and been promised cash back, to check through their records and ensure that you have received what was promised, as when waiting for it over such a VERY long time period it could easily be forgotten.
If you haven’t received yet, or, are still waiting for it, like I am, would you also please report it through Trustpilot in order that an overall picture of how efficient this site/system is can be arrived at and pressure can be applied to Lord ‘untouchable’ Lewis to do something quickly to sort out a very poor system/administration.
AMAZING WHAT A POOR REVIEW CAN DO!!!!
After months of waiting I suddenly received an e mail at 9.53am advising ‘we’ve recently received the information from EDF and the monies should be with you by the end of the week’.
UNBELIEVABLE how on the next working day after making my complaint this reply suddenly arrives, like magic!!
It highlights and confirms in my mind how atrocious the administration of this system is. To take OVER 6 months, after the supply has started, for a one tiny piece of information to be sent from one company to another is totally unacceptable.
I again request that any readers of this note, who’ve switched their supply in the last year, have definitely received the cash back they were originally promised.
You certainly can’t trust the power companies or the MSE administration, very poor indeed.
I look forward to seeing my complaint in a forthcoming edition of the weekly MSE newsletter, ha, ha ha!

Energy providers - Fixed Deals - Shop around don't trust comparison sites such as MSE.
Energy providers are now starting to offer fixed rates. I pay at present £131 per month from EON - MSE best price for a 1 year fix was £144. Went direct to Octopus Energy and obtained a 1 year for £125. So easy now as providers can access shared information to give an accurate figure. Disappointed by MSE and can only assume they only give prices for those companies which pay them a commission.

untrustworthy site.
I signed up for cheap broadband through Martin Lewis website purely because I trusted him.
I then realised that I was being linked via a cashback site that rarely pays out due to intentionally complicated rules that make it almost impossible to get the vouchers.
These sites are unethical and I'm amazed that Martin Lewis is recommending these.
It is almost impossible to trust any recommendations online and I genuinely (possibly naively) assumed that Martin Lewis would not connect himself with these companies.
Lots of people rely on these recommendations as they are struggling financially and for them to lose out due to recommendations from Martin Lewis is worrying.
I really hope that Martin and anyone involved are not making any money whatsoever from any of these recommendations such as commission from any of us clicking on the links from this site.
I can see from other reviewers on here that they have had similar experiences.
It is unlikely I will use this site again.
Whilst I do not think they should recommend these sites at all, if they do they should provide clear warnings that there is a high risk that people may end up worse off.
edit - Martins Money told me to contact them so they could help me. I did. They did not respond.
Over 2 weeks now and despite chasing them still no response. Presumably they responded on here to make it look like they were going to do something but have done nothing.

Appears to be impossible to unsubscribe from the 'famous email'.
My father, who is 78, has been trying to unsubscribe and I tried the website and this 'technical malfunction' popup comes up. Looking online, this has been the case for some time and they seem to make it deliberately hard to get off their list. I think this should be reported. If it was legit, it would be easy enough to un-sub.

Don't believe his hype
This site is run as an affiliate site for one reason only. To make Martin Lewis wealthy.
Don't fall for the money saving rubbish. Originally the site was set up by him to do this, but it has morphed into something a lot more devious and sinister.
Stop falling for the repetitive hype of this site and the dodgy referral sites like Broadband Choices that never pay sign up bonuses.

Check information from so-called Money Savings Expert first. Don't TRUST them …
Thanks to Money Savings Expert who has restored my faith in their information.
I had previously written that I used to find the information they send useful and upon acting on them have been good. Unfortunately, the previous sentence is no Longer true. MSE, please don't use incentives and then in the small T&Cs claim that information provided may not be accurate. I trusted that the information and clicked on the link that your email provided on 09 April 2024 to apply for a Barclaycard that there was an incentive for £20 when spending £250 within 90 days. Having fulfilled the criteria, I now find that the information is FALSE. I checked with Barclaycard and found that there is no such incentive. Why does MSE advertise on behalf of Barclaycard? To me, it's a scam as I could have used my debit card to pay for the purchases instead of the Barclaycard and at least got a reward out of that.

MSE recommends liars, cheats, scammers
I've previously found this site to be trustworthy and have used their advise many times, but have now stopped. For boiler and heating system cover, they recommend the biggest scammers, liars and cheats I have ever come across (Your Repair). They have Ts and Cs so cleverly written they can refuse to cover common problems, and it's very hard to end contracts and from messages I've received since my review of them, threaten vulnerable people with debt collector visits. I caught them lying to me and my plumber and they ended up compensating me but how MSE can recommend them I can only guess they pay enough to overlook the facts. But of course MSE recommend an alternative... but guess what? It's the same company operating with a different name (Hometree). Be really careful as MSE is clearly not as independent and genuine as they claim, and recommends these liars, cheats amd scammers! 🤔

I was looking to switch energy supplier…
I was looking to switch energy supplier since E-ON proved to be not only expensive, but also down right dangerous in more than one way (yes, you read right, dangerous). I went on MSE searching for a new energy provider. At first I was impressed as prices looked more competitive than on other websites. However, as I made my choice and clicked away ready to make big savings, I was redirected by the energy company to their own webpage, where the prices advertised vanished, and offers with double the money charge appeared. I left the site and resumed my search only to experience the same thing a further two times. In short, MSE is used by various energy suppliers to lure customers on to their own website with the promise of cheap rates, when in fact they only offer rates at at least double the rates they advertise on MSE. This made my search a lengthy, complicated and frustrating experience. What frustrate me the most is that I am awaiting my time searching, while being repeatedly deceived hour after hour, just becasue MSE can't be asked to check that companies advertising on their website a specific deal, actually donor the offer, rather than deceive potential customers. Yet I see Martin Lewis is constantly on Youtube or TV preaching all sorts. He said that he still works at MSE. Well then, less talking and more checking Martin! False advertising should NOT be allowed and facilitated!
The fact that MSE invests so much energy on this website trying to make MSE look good, instead of regularly checking its business and when things go wrong as the result of MSE's neglect of its own business, MSE tells me to do its job speaks volumes. No, MSE, I wont be sending you anything. I won't be waisting a second more on that shamble of a webpage, sorry. The audacity to tell me to do your job!

Respuesta de MoneySavingExpert.com
MSE no more as competitive
Have used it for years for insurances and found useful but lately it is becoming incompetitive and there are sites and companies outside MSE recommended, that provide much cheaper insurances. So has it had it's day?

Having used the MSE Credit Club service for a number of years, I’m glad to see they are no-longer work in partnership with Experian :-)
Human beings have a great capacity for wrongdoing. It’s an attribute that is unique in the world of life. We can and do make things worse, voluntarily, with full knowledge of what we are doing (as well as accidentally, and carelessly, and in a manner that is wilfully blind). – Jordan B. Peterson 2018
Due to my background in commercial IT and having worked for financial institutions, I’m fully aware of the need to pay attention to the data on my own credit file. As MoneySavingExpert provided me with access to the data on my Experian file on a monthly basis for FREE, I signed up for the service over six years ago.
Whilst companies can have glossy web-sites and provide plenty of information in FAQ pages, it doesn’t mean that’s the service consumers are actually going to receive!
Experian clearly exploited the fact they are the largest of the Credit Reference Agencies, and as such the partnership with MoneySavingExpert helped them to gain the opportunity to further abuse UK consumers by enticing them into the paid for service at £14.99 per month offering no real benefits to consumers whilst failing to follow the Financial Conduct Authority’s framework on how to conduct business within a regulated industry :-(
As Experian has allowed ScottishPower to abuse my credit file with a false default applied against myself as an Executor of the Estate, and the Legal Director at Experian has a complete lack of understanding of The Theft Act 1968, Section 17 False Accounting, whilst then getting an external solicitors practice to threaten me with liable action; then I’m so glad to see the end of this partnership.
Fingers crossed the NEW partnership with TransUnion will provide MSE Credit Club members with a useful service and one that over the coming months will introduce the option to print/save a full report will become available; especially useful for keeping better historical records of our own credit reports.
