We have had used MOTEST for sometime now and each time they have been just amazing.
Quick, customer focused, clean and tidy and pretty much all round fab!
The last job we had done was causing them a bit of bother however no matter how many times I took the car back or called they stayed patient (even though I know it was puzzling them) they persevered throughout until the fault was fixed. A* service 👍

Yet again MOtest have provided great service. My car was making a horrible noise from the front end. I called in as I was worried it may not be I good idea to keep driving. They quickly agreed to look at it and found a stone in the brakes which they removed and didn't charge me. Fantastic service.

Reading branch. Took my Seat in for a major service and MOT.

The dreaded mid-morning call. I needed new front tyres because they were both worn and had 'wires sticking out'.

Total BS. I know my car and had 4 Continentals on which were fine, but I couldn't get there to check them, so had to agree to this, if I wanted an MOT.

On collection, I asked to see my old tyres. They produced one Continental (mine, hardly worn, no wires), and one badly worn Michelin (not mine! Wires sticking out). Did they think I wouldn't notice that it was not my tyre?! I asked for my Continental, they said, this was the only tyre they had 'back there'.

This appears to be their 'worn tyre with wires sticking out' grift, that they use to con people into buying new tyres.

We've always relied on MOTest for a quick MOT and their reputation was good. That's why we thought we'd throw them a bone and use them for a service.

They used this to bill the living hell out of us for stuff that didn't need repairs.

To add insult, as I was begrudgingly paying, I noticed an extra MOT fee charged.

I asked why, they said, 'oh sorry, that shouldn't be there' and reduced the bill. So their 'mistake' is to bill an extra £54 if you're not watching closely.

Something has changed at MOTest, they are no longer honest and I won't be returning ever.

This place is so inconsistent now its unbelievable. I don't think you get a fair and balanced test, it depends what mood the children working there are in to how your test goes. Avoid if I were you, its a shame ive been a customer since the place opened but not any more.

My wife took her Honda Jazz to a booked appointment on Wednesday at Motest for them to check the air con and refill it. Car dropped off at 8.30am. We returned at 5pm having heard nothing to find the car in the same place. The chap behind the counter first told me it was an electrical problem, I explained that I knew what was wrong with it but couldn't do it myself as it's illegal to dump refrigerant into the atmosphere, but that it needed a new pressure relief valve and a refill of gas (a known Jazz problem). He then told me it might be the air con pump itself and would be £800. I again explained what actually needed doing and it was agreed the car would be looked at the next day so it was left with them. Having heard nothing my wife has returned this evening to find it in the same place untouched as they were busy. No apologies, no phone call to say so. We took the car away.

Friendly, fast, no fuss, and they fitted me in on the day I rang. Excellent service at Motest Tonbridge.

MOTEST Worthing - very efficient and friendly. MOT and service my car. Keep us well informed and as transparent about costs as mechanical issues allow.

I needed a mot done at short notice so booked into the Lewes garage and a few hours later I had been, passed and on my way home.
They were very prompt, friendly had free WiFi for me to use while I waited in their nice cool waiting area. Would highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

I took my car to Motest after having a service with Toyota, who advised me my car was in a terrible way and needed immediate attention. After being quoted an astronomical amount by Toyota to carry out the repairs I booked it in at Motest Hemel Hempstead, from start to finish they we’re professional, kept me updated about the repairs, and advised me the car did not need the immediate repairs as stated by Toyota. My car will now be going to Motest for all future services.

I can not thank Motest Swindon enough! From the fabulous lady at reception to the talented machanic team. I made an erratic girlie call to them as my brakes were failing. They offered same day or next day drop off, sorted the car and had it back to me the same day. They didn't have to do this for me but they did. They go above and beyond for the customers, for which I am thankful. I am a customer for life now, and I spread the good word also. Many thanks to all!

Booked a fixed price major service & MOT for a Vauxhall Grandland X and was quoted £375. To obtain this quote I entered my reg and the website correctly identified my car. They telephoned during the service to inform me that the car needed some extra work doing and I agreed to a spark plug and anti freeze change. The final bill then somehow leap up to £699.37 equating to £324.37 for the spark plugs and anti freeze. On receiving the bill I queried how the total had leapt up so much. I was told that my car needed specialist oil for which they charged an additional £80.00 even though this was advertised as a fixed price service and there was no mention of this being a likely additional charge on their website. They also charged £25 for the MOT which was advertised as £20. In fact the whole bill was impossible to relate to the original quote as there was 12 lines of itemised items on it. Just feel like I have been conned by this company who I used to use for many years.

Epsom - Had service and mot and they fixed a engine fault light problem, was able to fit in with sort notice, excellent value, friendly service, will be using them again.

Motest are reliable, honest, helpful! Very trustworthy. Tom the manager is really knowledgeable. They fixed my car quickly at the last minute. They're also great with mots!!! 100% recommend this garage for repairs, servicing and M.O Ts

My car went in for an MOT on a Saturday afternoon, which failed on the CV boots. Called back Monday and asked for a quite which came back as almost £500. My local garage who i had been using for years charged me £100. I took it back to motest for a retest, which it passed with no minors or advisories. Two days later I took it back to the same motest branch for a major service. Within half an hour I had received a call saying that both my back brakes were completely worn so would need two new pads and discs. The service and brakes came to almost £700. When questioned why this didnt come up on the MOT I was told simply they can't see them so dont test them. This I know to be untrue. When collecting the car I also noticed that there were oil marks all over it. No other garage i have ever been to has handed my car back in this state. So as I was alone and female, they assume I will just pay up and think its fine. Will not be going back there again.

You mention in your review that your car has covered very few miles in the last year and in some cases, lack of use can sometimes contribute towards issues. In this case parking brake efficiency and bonnet security.

On the rare occasion these faults arise, we make every effort to assist you in trying to remedy the problem. No you didint big lie hahahaha

Although the last MOT (carried out elsewhere) showed no advisories, corrosion has been mentioned in all previous MOT's since 2020, which questions the validity of the last MOT carried out on 16th August 2024 at 156417 miles.

Camberley - Always looking to make money out of people. Spent a fortune with them for many years and when you need a simple bit of flexibility over an issue they use it as an opportunity to be unhelpful and strap you up for another cost. Wont use ever again.

Keiran at your Eastleigh branch really helped me out when I bought my car in.I feel like he went above and beyond to help me and would definitely come back and recommend him to family and friends!
