Update: waited 10 days but seller failed to cancel the order and give a refund. Bank has now refunded the payment.
Very unprofessional. I’ve bought from this dealer before (through eBay) and not had a problem. However, three weeks ago I purchased a camera directly off their website; the order is still in “processing”. I’ve contacted the dealer to chase it (by email and on the WhatsApp number: the landline number does not work) and each time the person I have spoken to has promised to sort it out and get back to me: he has never called back, nor has he responded to my emails. I have now found out that he sold the camera on another site eight weeks ago. Confronted with this, the dealer finally agreed to cancel the order and refund my payment. Looking at the dealer’s recent feedback, and reading reviews here, there are many reports of unprofessional service. My advice is to avoid.

They sold me a lens which turned out to be stolen. I returned the lens, was promised a full refund. No refund, despite many statements that I’d be paid “soon”. I’m now taking them to court.

Absolutely diabolical service. I ordered items to the value of £70 and received confirmation. After 3 weeks I started to contact them, first via e mail but no response whatsoever. Their telephone is never answered, just rings out. Eventually I had to contact the fraud department of my bank, who thankfully swiftly got me a refund. You'd have to be mad to buy from this company, I'm surprised they're even still allowed to trade. Just read the reviews first, I wish I had!

Ordered three items on Friday, after an email to David to reassure my worries regarding reviews, I received an email to reassure me that my goods would be delivered promptly, Tuesday I received them, all good, I’m a little confused, my experience has been with David has been good.

Worst company I have ever dealt with.
I paid for items online and received nothing. After waiting 30 days I have contacted my credit card company for a chargeback.
No response to emails or phone, absolutely disgraceful and still items appear for sale. I smell a scam, trading standards is my next port of call.

Order #238289 placed 1st April and acknowledged as 'being processed'. No contact since and no goods received. I've tried to contact on at least 5 occasions since. Order value is low - £53 - so Small Claims action would be disproportionate.
I just want the item. No fuss, no hassle. Just send it!! Or refund what I paid over 3 months ago.

I've just phoned MW Classic Cameras to chase an order - I've heard nothing since confirmation email 7 days ago. The landline number does not exist & the whatsapp number goes to voicemail.
Mahendra Modi resigned in 2018 so it is just David Leslie Woodford working alone. He's been given 3 days to deliver what I paid for. After that it will get messy.
7 days later, no show. Still not answering phone.

UPDATE: 20/7/24 Still no show, still not answering phone. No response via website contact page. However, new items have been listed every Friday.
UPDATE: 6/8/24 There is now a chargeback being processed by my bank.
This guy needs to be shut down.

Paid for item never got email confirmation refused to answer emails or phone calls, obviously a scammer has been reported to the relevant authorities.

Paid in full but goods never dispatched. Would not answer my emails. Do not answer the telephone. Credit card company found against them and refunded me.

Gave an order, this has not been sent. They do not answer the phone or reply to email, consequently impossible to contact.

I have now referred to the bank for a chargeback.

I really don't know what's wrong with these people. They have interesting stuff at reasonable prices, but every time I make a purchase I have the same trouble - getting what I have paid for! Do you they really fear that their customers are going to shout at them, so they don't answer the phone, or reply to emails. It really has gone beyond frustrating and is such a pity that decent and knowledgeable shops close down, while these individuals keep going. I recommend that everyone shop at Mr Cad.

I have previously left a number of negative views for this company and I do stand by them. I have however made 2 purchases during the last month via eBay and everything was ok. There could of course be a little more in the way of communication. The only gripe is that the first purchase was a Bolex cine camera, bought via eBay of course, and yet it is still shown on his shop listing. Anyone buying it will face a number of problems and that was what led me to the negative reviews in the first place - some items are advertised but are no longer available. I will continue buying from him but only via eBay when a speedy resolution can be expected in the event of a problem.

Gave them 8 weeks to ship out a camera. They ignored my emails asking for shipping update as soon as I paid for it.

Had to eventually go through the bank to get my money back.

Ordered a small item (Rollei close up lens set for Rolleiflex) from their website on 22nd January 2024. The cost was £7 and the postage £8 (pretty high for a small item). Since then I've emailed multiple times, spoken to them two or three times on the phone, had explanations regarding the difficulty of finding small items from their stock, been promised delivery, but still not received the item (as of 29.03.24). I've twice written requesting a refund without response, and finally I've reported them to their local Trading Standards department. They have interesting and well priced items on their website, but if my experience is anything to go by, the chances of receiving any of them are slim!

No order received - no monies refunded

I have now reported to action fraud - I would suggest in future others do - you can also report the web site domain - this can then be removed to prevent further trading if found to be committing fraud- my understanding is its easier to take a domain down that a possible criminal conviction

The matter is now with the bank for my refund - and waits action frauds decision

In September (2023),I made an order for multiple items from this seller. 5weeks later, following numerous 'phone calls, I received half of it and was told the rest would follow. IT NEVER DID!
It really is pot luck with this bunch of crooks, unless you are a gambler and really desperate, I would AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Just use a proper dealer or E-Bay.

I made two mistakes when I ordered from MW Classic Cameras. My first mistake was to place the order, and my second was that I didn't read the reviews before placing my order. The proprietor is no better than a common thief, he took my £89 and failed to deliver my purchase. He doesn't answer the phone, nor does he respond to emails. Avoid this man like the plague, because he will steal from you too.

I ordered a couple of items and after over 4 weeks, nothing has been received. I emailed and rang after 2 weeks. My first call was answered and I was told that they are busy and they will get to it. 2 weeks later still nothing. My calls are unanswered now and no response to emails.

The first time I've placed an order on their website, I had to send emails and call just to get an update and find out what is happening. I mean, delivery wise, it is much faster for me to order from China. Finally, I get a call, where the guy explaines his situation so like any other good person, I try to show compassion...Finally, I got my order. All good by the way. No complains with regards to the item. Now, months after the first order, I find myself ordering again, thinking that last time was a one-off....but was it though?!...No, same customer treatment again. Had an order placed on the 19th of June and I am still waiting for an update. Tried to call, but no answer, sent a bunch of emails and the seller replied once(2 weeks after my order) saying he is in a holiday for 2 weeks and after the 7th of July he will take care of my order. I asked for a refund....but I am still waiting.
