I started off by looking for a pair of boots, when we couldn’t decide on a pair, we asked for staff assistance and were assisted by Carol at number one shoes+ hannahs the palms. She was very helpful and thourough in looking at the way the shoe sat on my foot, and spent time making sure the shoe fitted well and told me how to make them not feel so floppy because they’re wide foot boots. I have never had such good customer service.

Although they say they have stores in Australia, to return items that don't fit, you must return them back to New Zealand, at your own expense. Which costs more then the shoes.

Went to the store in Westfield Mall Henderson. One of the best customer service teams all three ladies were helpful and knowledgeable. Great customer service!

Had a great experience at Number One shoes + Hannah store at Sylvia Park. They have a really nice selection of boots with good quality and styles to choose from. Angelica assisted me and provided excellent customer service from start to finish. She was very friendly, patient, and helpful in finding the perfect pair. Highly recommend this store, and thank you Angelica for the amazing service!👏👏

A reliable website, they also have store locations all over New Zealand and have well priced shoes in lots of variety. They'll deliver the shoes in good condition and have friendly staff at the stores. There are reviews for most shoes, so you'll be able to see which ones are recommended. They also have occasional deals and prize pools to win 100 or 50 dollar NZD vouchers for the store, and if it's your first time joining the website they'll email you a 20% off voucher. I've personally also bough some high heels from their store for my formal~

Worst customer service.
I have emailed so many times I've lost count, to receive absolutely no correspondence back. Once they realised I was requesting a refund/exchange on faulty shoes they wiped their hands with me.

I ordered shoes for a special event and they didn’t arrive on time. I then was told I had to pay for postage back to NZ from Australia!! Mind you this company also has an “.au” email address - so misleading. Never again!!!!!

I’m tracking my purchase and it says my package has been loaded on plane for dispatch , 4 days ago?!!! I need to cancel my order this is a scam surely.

Shoes do not last long. The sole comes apart from the shoe after a very short time of being worn. For the price of the priduct this should not happen. This has happened with every pair of soled shoes and boots i have purchased from this store.

The shoes color make my foot black even after wash still remain. What’s wrong with your shoes???

I will never shop online with Hannahs/Number One Shoes again. Appalling, or should I say non-existent customer service. Ordered two pairs of shoes at the beginning of December last year. One pair have never been delivered. I've contacted them 4 times to ask for an update, and have just been completely ignored. The worst service I've ever experienced.

Awesome service from a smaller store

I purchased a pair of boots size 7 wide fit,tried on in the store seemed ok but had to drop my normal size by 2 sizes which seemed strange. Tried on the next day. Wore for 4 to 5 hours and they are so uncomfortable and my feet slide up and down in the boot. Went to return the shoe two days later and refused a refund. Store policy if you have worn shoes can't refund. What a shocking way to make money from people who support this business. I have informed staff that I will not support this company and I am committed to tell people I know not to support them either because if it doesn't fit to bad is the attitude. Can't enchange. I will take this matter further to the consumer as I think this is disgusting. Companies that are not prepared to refund are only in for the money and not customer satisfaction. I actually won't even give a rating on the service I received in the shop as this is blatant theft...

Absolutely rubbish quality shoes - have had pairs of shoes not even last one week without the paint coming off them. Will never purchase another pair of shoes from Number One Shoes ever again. Pity they combined with Hannah’s as it means Hannah’s great reputation has gone downhill now too so wouldn’t spend a cent in either store now.

Ordered shoes one day. They were delivered the next , exactly as described. It doesnt get any better

Purchased a pair of Juliet & Django sneakers. These were $240 but I managed to pick them up for a lot less. To clean these I purchased whitener and a magic eraser sponge from Number One Shoes Silverdale.
As soon as I got home, I used the magic sponge to clean the shoes, only to find that the sponge had scuffed my 4/5-week old shoes!!! So once dry, I then used the whitener to try to cover the scuff marks which did absolutely nothing.
Contacted customer service who took an extremely long time to respond. Then just like that, all communication from them ceased. I contacted them several more times and still nothing. I tried again, this time telling them that their customer service was bloody useless. They responded saying that I used the whitener first then the magic sponge. Who would do that? Why would you try to whiten your dirty shoes, and then clean them afterwards???? They have not even listened to me. Just straight assumed that I had done the wrong thing. I will NEVER purchase from Number One shoes again. Your customer service is hopeless and you don’t even take the time to understand the issue at hand.

I would give them zero if i could. The left and right sandals were different sizes even though they showed the same size on the sandals. Only one of the sandals fitted. They did offer a refund but refused to issue a return label and asked me to pay for the shipping back. The sandals were also of very very poor quality and I will absolutely avoid them from now on.

I brought a pair of school shoes for my daughter for $69.95 in February in by July the inside of the shoe was collapsing and one shoe had completely separated from the base. I was told that “this is considered wear and tear” we had also brought the spray which was supposed to make it waterproof. I believe that these shoes should have lasted a year and should be covered under warranty for that time. Highly disappointed with this product and customer service.

If I could give them less than 1-star, I would. Absolutely appalled. I’ve purchased 3 pairs of Detention lace-up school shoes for my son in 2025. The first pair deteriorated within the first month of wear at which point we took them back in store to get a refund. We were then told that a refund could not be issued and so instead, they replaced them.

4 days after they were replaced, I noticed the state of my sons shoes and he was then accused of unknowingly swapping them with another child at school because they looked several years old (worn & torn). I then replaced the shoes on Sunday 13/07 and SIX hours later when he wore them home from school on Monday (14/07) afternoon, they were so deteriorated that I was in utter disbelief.

Immediately I sent an email to the refund team (Monday 14/07, 18:31hrs). Their response? An accusation that I’d fabricated the amount of time the shoes had been in use for. Even after providing the receipt. Not an ounce of accountability, but instead a statistic to prove that they are not in fact a faulty item because the return & complaint amount is only 1%.

I cannot be the 1% consumer to receive 3 pairs of FAULTY shoes consecutively in 2025 alone.

They are unwilling to provide a reasonable solution in the meantime, other than “a refund cannot be issued until our product team have reviewed the shoe, however from the images and the wearing of the sole these shoes have been worn for longer than a 6 hour school day.”

Their customer service is abysmal, and their product quality is equally as bad. I have now spent collectively $160 + the purchase of a different brands shoes so that my son can have warm, dry, fit-for-purpose footwear.
